En el respaldo de este evento de ProBox, todos los favoritos lograron rápidas victorias: Marques Valle y De Von Williams vencieron en el primer asalto a Demarcus Layton y William Davis, respectivamente, y Darrelle Valsaint superó en el segundo round a Marcelo Bzowski. La cartelera de Round Zero terminó con el mexicano José Rodolfo “El Increíble” Macías venciendo en el cuarto asalto a su compatriota Francisco Rodríguez, dando así un buen primer paso en su andadura en el peso superpluma. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.

El mexicano Luis “Flechita” Castillo fue muy superior al sudafricano Ayanda Ndulani, al que tumbó tres veces y derrotó por KOT en el cuarto asalto en una eliminatoria WBC del peso mínimo. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
En un campeonato de Polonia por el vacante cinturón del peso superwélter, Yauheni Makarchuk logró el mayor triunfo de su carrera derrotando al veterano Lukasz Maciec, si bien con una cuestionable decisión dividida. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
El viernes también se produjeron estos combates:
-El imbatido peso wélter Joel Marcos Mafauad 9(4KO)-1 sufrió la primera derrota de su carrera con una decisión unánime (98-92, 98-92, 97-93) favorable a Cristian Javier Ayala 11(4KO)-2(1)-1, que así se coronó campeón de Argentina del peso wélter y capturó un título menor WBO que le situará en la parte baja del ranking de dicho organismo.
-El campeón de España del peso ligero Brian Peláez 13(3KO)-7(1) perdió su cinturón con una ajustada decisión unánime (96-94, 96-94, 96-94) ante el invicto Antonio Collado 11(1KO)-0, nuevo campeón.
-También se proclamó campeón de España, en su caso del peso pluma, Juan Jesús Antúnez 12(4KO)-1, que venció por KOT en el cuarto asalto al coaspirante Jon Martínez 13(2KO)-8(4)-5.
Sábado 20 de mayo
El estadounidense Devin Haney retuvo su cinturón de campeón indiscutido del peso ligero con una muy controvertida victoria por decisión unánime ante Vasiliy Lomachenko, quien mereció el triunfo más que él. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
En el semifondo, el excampeón mundial Óscar Valdez venció también la revancha ante Adam López, en esta ocasión por decisión unánime, quedando emplazado en teoría a un choque contra Emanuel Navarrete. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
El prometedor peso ligero Raymond Muratalla sólo necesitó dos rounds para vencer a Jeremia Nakathila, mientras que el japonés Junto Nakatani se coronó en una segunda división de peso anotándose uno de los knockouts del año ante Andrew Moloney. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
La irlandesa Katie Taylor fue derrotada por decisión unánime por una muy agresiva y sólida Chantelle Cameron, que retuvo así su cinturón indiscutido del peso superligero y catapultó su prestigio. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
En el choque coestelar, los aficionados locales se llevaron otro disgusto, ya que el prometedor Gary Cully fue destruido contra todo pronóstico por el mexicano José Félix Jr. Antes de este combate otro irlandés, Dennis Hogan, perdió por decisión unánime contra James Metcalf. En cuanto al campeonato de Europa por el cinturón del peso gallo, el italiano Alesso “Mosquito” Lorusso 21(9KO)-5-2 vio cortada su racha y fue destronado por el duro aspirante británico Thomas Essomba 12(4KO)-8(1)-1, que venció por decisión unánime (117-111, 116-112, 116-112). De ese modo, seguramente Essomba será escogido como rival próximamente por algún boxeador británico de relieve que quiera mejorar su posición.
El sábado tuvo estos otros resultados:
-El excampeón mundial minimosca Hiroto Kyoguchi 17(11KO)-1(1) regresó al ring y a la senda del triunfo venciendo por amplísima decisión unánime (100-90, 100-90, 100-90) al filipino Roland Jay “The Bull” Biendima 17(10KO)-14(2)-1.
-El exaspirante mundial Kamil Szeremeta 24(8KO)-2(2)-1 venció por abandono en el tercer round la revancha contra Nizar Trimech 10(4KO)-5(3)-2.
-El prospecto británico del peso superligero Aaron Prospere 11(4KO)-0 superó con nota su test ante Tom Ansell 10(2KO)-4(1), al que le asestó su primera derrota antes del límite en el primer asalto.
-El peso superwélter estadounidense James Martin 10(0KO)-4-1 fue derrotado contra pronóstico por el veterano Courtney Pennington 17(7KO)-6(2)-3 con una decisión dividida (78-74, 74-78, 75-77).
-El imabatido Regan Glackin 11(3KO)-0 derrotó a los puntos (100-90) a Ahmed Mweva 14(2KO)-4-1 y capturó el vacante cinturón Scottish Area del peso ligero.
Domingo 21 de mayo
Por último, el domingo el campeón mundial en tres divisiones Kosei Tanaka 19(11KO)-1(1) derrotó al colombiano Pablo Carrillo 28(17KO)-9(2)-2 por KOT en el décimo asalto, afianzándose en la cumbre de las cuatro listas mundiales y mostrándose listo para una pugna decisiva ante un rival de nivel alto, y el prospecto canadiense del peso ligero Lucas Bahdi 14(12KO)-0 se convirtió en el primero en batir antes del límite (KO en el noveno asalto) al mexicano Jesús “Toro” Amparán 20(16KO)-4(1), pareciendo que antes de que termine el año afrontará un test de calado.

Mexican Luis “Flechita” Castillo was far superior to South African Ayanda Ndulani, whom he knocked down three times and defeated by fourth-round TKO in a WBC minimumweight eliminator. Read more following the link.
In a Polish championship for the vacant junior welterweight belt, Yauheni Makarchuk scored the biggest win of his career to date by defeating veteran Lukasz Maciec, albeit by a questionable split decision. Read more following the link.

-Unbeaten welterweight Joel Marcos Mafauad 9(4KO)-1 suffered the first loss of his career with a unanimous decision (98-92, 98-92, 97-93) against Cristian Javier Ayala 11(4KO)-2( 1)-1, who thus was crowned Argentine welterweight champion and captured a minor WBO title that will place him at the bottom of the ranking of that sanctioning body.
-Spanish lightweight champion Brian Peláez 13 (3KO)-7(1) lost his belt with a close unanimous decision (96-94, 96-94, 96-94) to undefeated Antonio Collado 11(1KO )-0.
–Juan Jesús Antúnez 12(4KO)-1 also became Spanish champion, in his case as featherweight, as he defeated Jon Martínez 13(2KO)-8(4)-5 by fourth-round TKO.
Saturday May 20

In the co-feature bout, former world champion Óscar Valdez won the rematch against Adam López, this time by unanimous decision, so theoretically he will now face Emanuel Navarrete. Read more following the link.
Promising lightweight Raymond Muratalla only needed two rounds to beat Jeremia Nakathila, while Japanese Junto Nakatani was crowned in a second weight division scoring one of the best knockouts of the year against Andrew Moloney. Read more following the link.

As for the European championship for the bantamweight belt, Italian Alesso «Mosquito» Lorusso 21(9KO)-5-2 saw his streak cut short by the tough British challenger Thomas Essomba 12(4KO)-8(1 )-1, who won via unanimous decision (117-111, 116-112, 116-112). In this way, surely Essomba will be chosen soon as opponent by some prominent British boxer who wants to improve his position.

-American super welterweight James Martin 10(0KO)-4-1 was upset by veteran Courtney Pennington 17(7KO)-6(2)-3, who won by split decision (78-74, 74-78, 75- 77).
-Undefeated Regan Glackin 11(3KO)-0 defeated Ahmed Mweva 14(2KO)-4-1 on points (100-90) to capture the vacant Scottish Area lightweight belt.
Sunday, May 21
Lastly, on Sunday three-division world champion Kosei Tanaka 19(11KO)-1(1) defeated Colombian Pablo Carrillo 28(17KO)-9(2)-2 by tenth-round TKO, strengthening his position in the summit of the four world lists and showing he is ready for a decisive fight against a top-level opponent. On the other hand, Canadian lightweight prospect Lucas Bahdi 14(12KO)-0 became the first boxer to stop (KO in the ninth round) Mexican Jesús «Toro» Amparán 20(16KO)-4(1), so it seems that before the end of the year he will face a major test.
