En otro viernes más con muy poco que destacar (han habido bastantes durante este año), sólo se podrán mencionar un par de escenarios. Uno de ellos será el Korakuen Hall de Tokio, Japón, donde el excampeón mundial Hiroto Kyoguchi 17(11KO)-1(1) afrontará su segundo combate desde que fue destruido por Kenshiro Teraji. En esta ocasión Kyoguchi, top 10 del peso mosca en tres organismos, combatirá contra el filipino Jerven Mama 13(7KO)-3(2)-1, ante el que es muy claro favorito para vencer. También en el cartel, Suzumi Takayama 6(5KO)-0 y Tsubasa Murachi 10(3KO)-1(1)-1 combatirán en un campeonato nacional japonés del peso supermosca.
Por otro lado, en las instalaciones del SNTE Sección 53 de Guasave, México, el invicto prospecto del peso minimosca Leobardo López 17(11KO)-0 disputará su segundo combate pactado a diez asaltos ante el fogueado Rogelio Romero 14(7KO)-8(5), que en sus últimas dos peleas aguantó todos los rounds ante el enrachado Víctor Olivo y el ahora exretador mundial Argi Cortés y que anteriormente se anotó un buen triunfo contra pronóstico sobre un púgil imbatido.
Sábado 23 de septiembre
El enfrentamiento más destacado de la semana será la revancha que sostendrán, en el Wembley Arena de Londres, Reino Unido, el británico Joe Joyce 15(14KO)-1(1) y el chino Zhilei Zhang 25(20KO)-1-1. Dejando al margen que el encuentro decidirá a uno de los retadores obligatorios del campeón mundial unificado del peso pesado Oleksandr Usyk, la pelea también dirimirá si el tosquísimo Joyce es capaz de ir más allá de sus limitaciones en este segundo duelo con Zhang y si es capaz lidiar con la potencia y la precisión de un púgil grande y fuerte pero con insuficiente resistencia al cansancio.
En el respaldo de este evento emitido por ESPN+ y TNT Sports, el prospecto irlandés del peso superligero Pierce O’Leary 12(7KO)-0 afrontará un interesante paso adelante ante el intrincado británico Kane Gardner 16(7KO)-2, el invicto peso ligero Sam Noakes 11(11KO)-0 buscará mantener su 100% de knockouts ante el español Carlos Pérez 19(2KO)-7(1)-2 y el peso semipesado Ezra Taylor 6(4KO)-0 afrontará su mayor combate hasta la fecha ante el extitular inglés Joel McIntyre 20(5KO)-7(2).
El sábado también recibirá notable atención una velada de DAZN y Matchroom Boxing desde el Caribe Royale Orlando de Orlando, Estados Unidos. De todos modos, una vez más una cartelera de Eddie Hearn recibirá miradas por motivos negativos, ya que en ella participará el dopado Conor Benn 21(14KO)-0, cuyo caso todavía no ha sido cerrado por las autoridades británicas. Benn regresará ante un Rodolfo Orozco 32(24KO)-3-3 que, si perdió contra Isaac Lucero, tendrá muy difícil lidiar con el británico y sus ilegales aumentadores de la testosterona.
El encuentro estelar de dicho evento será un combate del peso superligero en el que el invicto Richardson Hitchins 16(7KO)-0 buscará presentar su candidatura para una pelea de relieve en la cumbre de la división enfrentándose al venido a menos José “Chon” Zepeda 37(28KO)-3(2), que sólo ha peleado una vez desde que fue controlado y noqueado por Regis Prograis.
También en el evento, la campeona mundial WBO del peso wélter Sandy Ryan 6(2KO)-1 tratará de unificar dos cinturones con una boxeadora carente de técnica pero voluntariosa como la titular WBA y WBC Jessica McCaskill 12(5KO)-3. Además, el peso medio estadounidense Austin Williams 14(10KO)-0 y el peso superligero cubano Orestes Vázquez 7(6KO)-0 afrontarán nuevos combates a diez rounds ante, respectivamente, Steve Rolls 22(12KO)-2(1) y Mohamed Soumaoro 13(6KO)-1.
El sábado también se desarrollarán estos otros enfrentamientos:
-En el Chapiteau de l’Espace Fontvieille de Fontvieille, Mónaco, el olímpico venezolano Albert Ramírez 16(15KO)-0 buscará seguir escalando en el peso semipesado y preparándose para peleas importantes enfrentándose al exretador mundial Lenin Castillo 24(19KO)-4(1)-1, y el bronce olímpico ruso Imam Khataev 3(3KO)-0 intentará impresionar una vez más enfrentándose en el peso supermedio al fogueado mexicano Alan Campa 18(12KO)-8(4).
-En el Sports Palace Yubileiny de Almetyevsk, Rusia, el invicto peso wélter Vitaly Petryakov 15(11KO)-0 seguirá trabajando en su desarrollo midiéndose a un boxeador con largo alcance y un par de buenas victorias en su récord como el sudafricano Jabulani Makhense 14(7KO)-1(1). Además, el prospecto del peso superligero Emir Basirov 9(8KO)-0 disputará un test ante el experimentado Tshifhiwa Munyai 36(21KO)-7(3)-1.
-En el York Hall de Londres, Reino Unido, tendrán lugar dos campeonatos de Inglaterra, ambos por cintos vacantes. En uno de ellos Denis Denikajev 10(2KO)-0-1 peleará contra Sajid Abid 13(1KO)-1(1) por la corona del peso superligero y en otro se verán las caras Mitchell Frearson 9(1KO)-0-1 y Brad Pauls 17(9KO)-1 por el cinturón del peso medio.
-En el Foro 360 de Naucalpan, México, emitido por DAZN, los peso gallo José Andrés Terán 11(8KO)-2 y Odín Juárez 13(4KO)-3-2 se enfrentarán en una revancha del igualado combate que sostuvieron el año pasado.
-En el Salón de los Deportes de Villa María, Argentina, televisado por TyC Sports, el invicto peso supergallo local Rodrigo Fabián Ruiz 15(12KO)-0 disputará su cuarto combate del año, en esta ocasión contra el venezolano Yeison Juárez 15(9KO)-2. En el mismo evento, la exmonarca mundial Daniela Romina Bermúdez 31(11KO)-4(1)-3 expondrá su corona argentina del peso pluma ante Lucrecia Anabella Manzur 9(5KO)-3(1), que superó las expectativas ante Karen Carabajal.
-En el Club Social y Deportivo El Porvenir de Quilmes, Argentina, emitido por ESPN Knockout, el peso pluma Laureano Sciuto 12(8KO)-1 tratará de sumar su segundo triunfo consecutivo enfrentándose al colombiano Johan Segura 12(9KO)-1(1), que sólo ha sido derrotado por el olímpico Alberto Melián.

On yet another Friday with very little to highlight (there have been quite a few this year), only a couple of events can be mentioned. One of them will take place at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, where former world champion Hiroto Kyoguchi 17(11KO)-1(1) will face his second fight since he was destroyed by Kenshiro Teraji. On this occasion Kyoguchi, top 10 flyweight in three organizations, will fight against Filipino Jerven Mama 13(7KO)-3(2)-1, against whom he is very clear favorite to win. Also on the card, Suzumi Takayama 6(5KO)-0 and Tsubasa Murachi 10(3KO)-1(1)-1 will clash in a Japanese super flyweight championship.
On the other hand, at the SNTE Section 53 facilities in Guasave, Mexico, undefeated light flyweight prospect Leobardo López 17(11KO)-0 will face his second ten-round fight against seasoned Rogelio Romero 14(7KO)-8(5), who in his last two fights reached the last bell against Víctor Olivo and the now former world challenger Argi Cortés and who previously scored a good upset victory over an undefeated fighter.

The most relevant bout of the week will be the rematch between British Joe Joyce 15(14KO)-1(1) and Chinese Zhilei Zhang 25(20KO)-1-1 at the Wembley Arena in London, United Kingdom. Leaving aside the fact that the match will choose one of the mandatory challengers for unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk, the fight will also decide whether the crude Joyce is capable of going beyond his limitations in this second duel with Zhang and if he is capable of dealing with the power and precision of a big, strong southpaw but lacking in stamina.
