En este día el excampeón mundial unificado del peso crucero Murat Gassiev encarará su mayor reto hasta la fecha en su andadura en el peso pesado enfrentándose al imbatido estadounidense Mike Balogun. Más información siguiendo el link.
Al margen de este choque, el viernes se puede destacar un combate del peso gallo que se producirá en el Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno de Tijuana, México. Y es que en él el enrachado Víctor “Scarface” Reyes 21(14KO)-2-1, que encadena 12 triunfos desde su tropiezo ante el prometedor KJ Cataraja, buscará dar un paso más hacia el top 15, y anotarse una de sus tres mayores victorias, enfrentándose a un boxeador tan experimentado como José “Tigre” Cayetano 22(10KO)-7(2), que se ha medido en su carrera a rivales como Leo Santa Cruz, Scott Quigg o Kid Galahad y que ha ofrecido varias meritorias actuaciones como visitante. Con todo, Reyes está en gran estado de forma y muy motivado y Cayetano viene de una larga inactividad, por lo que habrá un muy claro favorito.
Por lo demás, el viernes sólo se pueden mencionar estos otros duelos:
-En el Metro City de Northbridge, Australia, el olímpico Alex Winwood 1(1KO)-0 realizará su segundo combate profesional peleando en el peso minimosca contra el fogueado indonesio Tibo Monabesa 21(8KO)-1(1)-2, que cuenta con un par de victorias sobre exretadores mundiales.
-En la Salle Polyvalente des Ramiers de Blagnac, Francia, el campeón nacional francés del peso semipesado Marlon Brun 14(3KO)-1 se medirá a un boxeador con mal récord como Cyrille Joly 12(6KO)-13(6)-2 pero que le derrotó contra pronóstico hace dos años.
-En Maracaibo, Venezuela, emitido por ESPN Knockout, el excampeón mundial del peso superpluma Roger Gutiérrez 26(20KO)-4(2)-1 buscará rebotar de su derrota ante Héctor Luis Garcia enfrentándose a un rival de nivel modesto como el dominicano Henry Delgado 20(14KO)-1.
-En el York Hall de Londres, Reino Unido, el invicto peso superwélter Jack McGann 7(4KO)-0-1 disputará su primer combate del año contra el resistente jornalero húngaro Laszlo Toth 31(19KO)-6(1)-2, que durante su carrera ha peleado como visitante contra rivales como Eduard Skavynskyi, Islam Edisultanov, Kudratillo
Abdukakhorov, etc.
Sábado 4 de marzo
Dos batalladores boxeadores como los excampeones mundiales Brandon Figueroa y Mark Magsayo se verán las caras en una eliminatoria final WBC del peso pluma (con título interino en juego) que debería ser muy entretenida. En el respaldo Jarrett Hurd regresará al ring tras más de dos años de inactividad peleando contra José Armando Reséndiz, mientras que Amilcar Vidal y Elijah Lorenzo García pugnarán en un duelo de invictos. Otra velada destacada de la jornada será la que se producirá en Newcastle, Reino Unido, ya que contará con dos eliminatorias mundiales: una del peso superligero entre Lewis Ritson y Ohara Davies y otra del peso pluma entre Thomas Patrick Ward y Otabek Kholmatov. Previa del evento siguiendo el link.
El sábado también sobresale un evento organizado por Matchroom Boxing y emitido por DAZN desde el Palenque de Culiacán, México. En el choque estelar el peso ligero mexicano Ángel “Tashiro” Fierro 20(16KO)-1-2, que no parece estar convenciendo mucho a su promotor con sus últimas actuaciones, intentará mejorar su posición de 5º WBO peleando por un título menor ante el uruguayo Eduardo Estela 14(9KO)-1(1), un boxeador que viene de anotarse una victoria contra pronóstico ante Rubén “Ace” Torres pero que perdió por KOT ante Maurico Lara. Por ello, los matchmakers de Hearn esperan que, pese a sus brechas tácticas, quizás Fierro pueda terminar marcando la diferencia a base de potencia.
En la cartelera destacan otros tres choques: el noqueador del peso superpluma Eduardo Núñez 23(23KO)-1 intentará brillar en su primera aparición ante grandes audiencias internacionales peleando contra su compatriota Rodolfo Bustamante 18(11KO)-1(1)-1; el olímpico mexicano Misael Rodríguez 12(7KO)-0 disputará un rodaje en el peso medio ante el sustituto Aarón Rocha 10(6KO)-1-1; y el olímpico uzbeko Dilshodbek Ruzmetov 1(0KO)-0 afrontará su segundo combate profesional pugnando en el peso semipesado contra Jesús Moroyoqui 7(4KO)-1(1)-1.
Entre los carteles destacados también cabe mencionar uno que se desarrollará en el Pabellón del Valle de Hebrón en Barcelona, España. En el combate estelar el invicto excampeón de España Alejandro Moya 17(10KO)-0 tratará de lograr su primer título internacional combatiendo por el vacante cinto de la Unión Europea ante otro excampeón nacional como el francés Walid Ouizza 16(8KO)-2. Este parece un choque potencialmente contendido entre dos boxeadores competentes, pero la mayor solidez de un Moya motivado y su condición de local parecen sugerir que logrará un triunfo por decisión.
En las peleas de acompañamiento el exranqueado mundial Moussa Gholam 19(12KO)-1 buscará regresar a la senda del triunfo tras el robo que padeció ante Elnur Samedov combatiendo en el peso superpluma contra un duro rival como el mexicano Abraham Montoya 20(14KO)-4-1, que truncó el récord invicto de Alejandro Guerrero en Estados Unidos y que perdió controvertidamente contra Gabriel Flores Jr. Además, el invicto Cristian Eusse 6(5KO)-0 afrontará su primer combate a ocho asaltos, y un paso adelante, pugnando también en el peso superpluma contra el argentino, exaspirante al cinturón de Sudamérica, Reuquén Arce 15(7KO)-8(3)-2.
El sábado se producirán también estos otros encuentros:
-En el RuhrCongress de Bochum, Alemania, el cinturón de campeón de Europa del peso pesado verá cortada su mayor inactividad desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial, ya que Agit Kabayel 22(14KO)-0 y Agron Smakici 19(17KO)-1(1) pugnarán por el cinto sin dueño.
-En el Korakuen Hall de Tokyo, Japón, el 10º IBF y 11º WBC Kai Chiba 15(9KO)-3(1) disputará una revancha inmediata contra su compatriota Keita Kurihara 16(14KO)-7(4)-1, a quien batió por KOT en el último asalto de un igualado combate en septiembre.
-En el Centro de Convenciones “Yucatan Siglo XXI” de Mérida, México, TV Azteca ofrecerá una pugna del peso supergallo en la que el invicto Ángel “Lobo” Talavera 10(1KO)-0 se medirá a otro boxeador joven y ambicioso, pero con más experiencia y pegada, como Erik “Terrible” Robles 12(8KO)-1(1).
-En el Energy Centre de Cold Lake, Canadá, la jovencísima peso mosca Alexas Kubicki 5(0KO)-0 afrontará otro temprano test ante la mexicana María Salinas 25(7KO)-8(1)-6, más conocida por su empate en Reino Unido ante la oro olímpica Nicola Adams, que no volvió a pelear tras ese choque.
-En el MusikTeatret de Albertslund, Dinamarca, la excampeona mundial del peso pluma Sarah Mahfoud 11(3KO)-1 disputará su primer combate desde la derrota ante Amanda Serrano enfrentándose a la alemana Lara Ochmann 9(4KO)-1.
Domingo 5 de marzo
Finalmente, la actividad relevante terminará en un domingo en el que Zanfer organizará una velada emitida por ESPN Knockout desde el Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno de Tijuana, México. En ella el bronce mundial amateur Elnur Abduraimov 10(9KO)-0 buscará sumar rounds útiles (después de haber arrollado a casi toda su oposición) enfrentándose al imbatido mexicano Ángel Daniel “El Alemán” García 14(11KO)-0, que entrará a este choque tres meses después de haber batido por KOT a “Mickey” Torres en un decisivo duelo de invictos.
En el cartel también sobresale la mayor prueba hasta la fecha para el peso wélter Rubén Eduardo “Pollito” Aguilar 20(17KO)-0, que se enfrentará a un rival capaz, sin derrotas antes del límite y que viene de perder muy ajustadamente ante otro invicto (Julio Luna Ávila) como Ricardo “Magic Man” Salas 16(11KO)-2.

On this day, former unified cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev will face his biggest challenge to date in his heavyweight run facing undefeated American Mike Balogun. Read more following the link.
Apart from this clash, a bantamweight fight that will take place at the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno in Tijuana, Mexico, can also be highlighted. In it, Víctor “Scarface” Reyes 21(14KO)-2-1, who has stringed 12 wins since his loss against the promising KJ Cataraja, will seek to take another step towards the top 15, and score one of his three biggest victories, battling a boxer as experienced as José “Tigre” Cayetano 22(10KO)-7(2), who has faced opponents such as Leo Santa Cruz, Scott Quigg or Kid Galahad and who has offered several meritorious performances as a visitor. Two brave boxers and former world champions like Brandon Figueroa and Mark Magsayo will battle in a WBC featherweight final eliminator (with interim title at stake) that should be highly entertaining. In the main support, Jarrett Hurd will return to the ring after more than two years of inactivity fighting José Armando Reséndiz, while Amilcar Vidal and Elijah Lorenzo García will square off in a duel of undefeated. Another remarkable evening of the day will be the one that will take place in Newcastle, United Kingdom, as it will feature two eliminators: one at super lightweight between Lewis Ritson and Ohara Davies and another at featherweight between Thomas Patrick Ward and Otabek Kholmatov. Also on Saturday, Matchroom Boxing and DAZN will offer a card from the Palenque in Culiacán, Mexico. In the main event, Mexican lightweight Ángel “Tashiro” Fierro 20(16KO)-1-2, who does not seem to be convincing his promoter very much with his recent performances, will try to improve his position as WBO number 5 by fighting for a minor title against the Uruguayan Eduardo Estela 14(9KO)-1(1), a boxer who comes from scoring an upset against Rubén «Ace» Torres but who lost by TKO against Maurico Lara. For this reason, Hearn’s matchmakers hope that, despite his tactical flaws, perhaps Fierro can end up winning due to his power.
Three other clashes stand out on the bill: super featherweight knockout artist Eduardo Núñez 23(23KO)-1 will try to shine in his first appearance in front of large international audiences fighting his compatriot Rodolfo Bustamante 18(11KO)-1(1)-1; Mexican Olympian Misael Rodríguez 12(7KO)-0 will face a stay-busy bout at middleweight against substitute Aarón Rocha 10(6KO)-1-1; and Uzbek Olympian Dilshodbek Ruzmetov 1(0KO)-0 will have his second professional match clashing at light heavyweight against Jesús Moroyoqui 7(4KO)-1(1)-1.
Among Saturday’s card it is also worth mentioning one that will take place in the Pabellón del Valle de Hebrón in Barcelona, Spain. In the main event, undefeated former Spanish champion Alejandro Moya 17(10KO)-0 will try to conquer his first international title fighting for the vacant European Union belt against another former national champion like the Frenchman Walid Ouizza 16(8KO)-2. This looks like a potentially contested matchup between two competent fighters, but the solidity of a motivated Moya, as well as his hometown-advantage, seem to suggest he’ll pull off a decision win.
In the undercard, former world ranked boxer Moussa Gholam 19(12KO)-1 will seek to return to the winning ways, after the robbery he suffered against Elnur Samedov, fighting in a super featherweight bout against a tough opponent like Mexican Abraham Montoya 20(14KO)-4-1, who beat the undefeated Alejandro Guerrero in the United States and who lost controversially against Gabriel Flores Jr. In addition, unbeaten super featherweight Cristian Eusse 6(5KO)-0 will face his first eight-round bout, and a step up, against the Argentinian, former South American title challenger, Reuquén Arce 15(7KO)-8(3)-2.
