Los mejores combates del fin de semana (20-21/1/2023)

Seguimos en el principio de temporada y, por lo tanto, seguimos con una notable falta de número de combates, repitiéndose el patrón de la pasada semana: un evento destacado el viernes y otro el sábado y un pequeño puñado de encuentros mencionables como acompañamiento.
Viernes 20 de enero
En este día se desarrollará la primera velada del año de la serie de eventos ShoBox: The New Generation que Showtime televisará desde el Wind Creek Events Center de Bethlehem, Estados Unidos. Los dos combates principales serán dos enfrentamientos entre boxeadores invictos y con buenas carreras amateurs.
En el estelar el que fuera miembro de la selección estadounidense Sean “Silky” Hemphill 14(8KO)-0 afrontará su mayor prueba hasta la fecha midiéndose en el peso supermedio a un David Stevens 11(8KO)-0 que fue oro nacional juvenil y que también disputará su test más exigente hasta la fecha. En cuanto al semifondo, este será un duelo del peso semipesado en el que se verán las caras dos boxeadores con buen porcentaje de knockouts como el prometedor estadounidense Atif Oberlton 7(6KO)-0 y el ruso Artem Brusov 12(11KO)-0. Además, la emisión se abrirá con una pugna del peso superpluma entre Julian González 8(8KO)-0-1 y Rosalindo Morales 9(2KO)-0.
Estos otros combates también se producirán el viernes:
-En el Club Banco Nación de Rosario, Argentina, TyC Sports televisará una pelea en la que Cristian “Escopeta” Reggiardo 9(5KO)-3(1) buscará mantenerse en la parte baja del ranking WBO del peso wélter peleando por un título menor ante Joel Mafauad 8(3KO)-0, mientras que el campeón de Argentina del peso ligero Claudio Daneff 17(8KO)-2(1)-1 intentará capturar el vacante cinturón nacional del peso superligero ante Dorian Maidana 8(5KO)-1(1), ante el que será muy claro favorito.
-En el Kissimmee Civic Center de Kissimmee, Estados Unidos, emitido por Fite, la púgil de excelente carrera amateur Christina Cruz 3(0KO)-0 se medirá en el peso mosca a Amy Salinas 4(0KO)-2, que viene de perder controvertidamente ante la invicta Jasmine Artiga.
Sábado 21 de enero
El mayor enfrentamiento de la semana será la pugna del peso medio que disputarán los británicos Chris Eubank Jr. y Liam Smith. Previa del combate siguiendo el link.
En la cartelera principal se producirá un campeonato británico y de la Commonwealth del peso wélter entre Ekow Essuman y Chris Kongo, una pelea del peso pesado entre el excampeón Joseph Parker y Jack Massey, un combate del peso crucero entre el invicto Richard Riakporhe y el exmonarca mundial Krzysztof Glowacki y una pugna del peso pesado entre el bronce olímpico Frazer Clarke y el encajador Kevin Espíndola. Al margen de dicho cartel, el sábado se producirán estas otras peleas:
-Desde el Centro de Convenciones Vasco Núñez de Balboa de Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá, TyC Sports emitirá un evento en el que el peso superpluma cubano Pablo Vicente 20(16KO)-1, 5º WBA, será claro favorito para imponerse al venezolano Ángel Rodríguez 20(10KO)-2, 7º WBA. En el mismo evento, el olímpico argentino Mirco Cuello 9(8KO)-0 seguramente noqueará al dominicano Leivy Frías 12(10KO)-0 en un combate del peso pluma.
-En los estudios de Tv Azteca en Ciudad de México, México, emitido evidentemente por Tv Azteca, el enrachado pegador del peso superwélter Jorge “Chino” García 24(20KO)-3 se enfrentará al invicto marfileño residente en México Etoundi “Camarones” Michel 11(9KO)-0, que afrontará su mayor test hasta la fecha.
-En el Arena La Paz de La Paz, México, el joven e invicto peso wélter Isaac “La Bestia” Lucero 11(7KO)-0 afrontará su cuarto combate pactado a diez asaltos ante Ricardo Bañuelos 18(7KO)-7(5)-1, que viene de dar la sorpresa ante “Pájaro” Dávila.

We’re still at the beginning of the season and, therefore, the weekend will still have a noticeable lack of matches, repeating the pattern of last week: one featured event on Friday and another on Saturday, and a small handful of mentionable bouts to accompany them.
Friday, January 20
On this day, ShoBox: The New Generation will start its season with an evening televised by Showtime from the Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, United States. The two main bouts will be two fights between undefeated boxers with good amateur careers.
In the main event, a former member of the US team as Sean «Silky» Hemphill 14(8KO)-0 will face his biggest test to date in a super middleweight clash against David Stevens 11(8KO)-0, who was national youth gold medalist and who will also face his most difficult fight to date. As for the co-feature, this will be a light heavyweight duel between two boxers with a good knockout ratio as the promising American Atif Oberlton 7(6KO)-0 and the Russian Artem Brusov 12(11KO)-0. In addition, the broadcast will open with a super featherweight fight between Julian González 8(8KO)-0-1 and Rosalindo Morales 9(2KO)-0.
