Habiéndose gastado cuarenta millones de dólares para ganar la subasta del campeonato mundial WBC del peso pesado Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte, no se podía esperar que el promotor Frank Warren ofreciese en el respaldo de este evento combates del máximo nivel, puesto que de hacerlo simplemente las cuentas no le habrían cuadrado. Pues bien, efectivamente, cuando se han anunciado las pugnas de acompañamiento para el Fury-Whyte, éstas han despertado un limitado interés.
Aunque los choques no serán superiores a los que ofrecería Frank Warren en una cartelera de BT Sport en abierto un sábado cualquiera, igualmente habrá ciertos encuentros interesantes. En el semifondo, el campeón británico del peso superpluma Anthony Cacace tratará de lograr un buen posicionamiento en las listas peleando por un título menor contra el excampeón mundial colombiano Jonathan “Momo” Romero, cuya única derrota la padeció ante Kiko Martínez (2013) pero que desde entonces no ha afrontado un combate relevante.
Otra de las pugnas será en el peso pluma y pondrá frente a frente al participante en eliminatoria Isaac Lowe, primo de Tyson Fury, y al invicto prospecto Nick Ball, oro de Inglaterra junior como amateur. También destaca la participación del peso pesado David Adeleye, aunque su oponente será un Chris Healey que ha tenido casi tantas derrotas como éxitos en el circuito regional británico.
La velada se completará con peleas para Tommy Fury, el oro en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud Karol Itauma, el olímpico Kurt Walker y el dos veces oro europeo Royston Barney-Smith, si bien todos ellos serán abrumadores favoritos ante oponentes de nivel bajo.

Having spent forty million dollars to win the purse bid for the WBC world heavyweight championship Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte, promoter Frank Warren could not be expected to offer top-level matches in support of this event, since if he had done that, simply the numbers would not add up. Well, indeed, when the support fights for the Fury-Whyte match have been announced, they have generated a limited interest.
Although the clashes will not be better than what Frank Warren offers on a BT Sport card on any given Saturday, there will still be some interesting bouts. In the co-main event, British super featherweight champion Anthony Cacace will try to achieve a good position in the rankings by fighting for a minor title against Colombian former world champion Jonathan “Momo” Romero, whose only loss was against Kiko Martínez (2013) but who since then has not had a relevant fight.
Another of the fights will be in the featherweight division and in it will participate the final eliminator participant Isaac Lowe, Tyson Fury’s cousin, and the undefeated prospect Nick Ball, junior ABA gold medalist. On the undercard stands out also Heavyweight David Adeleye, although his opponent will be Chris Healey, who has had nearly as many losses as wins on the British regional scene.
The evening will be rounded out with fights for Tommy Fury, Youth Olympic Games gold medalist Karol Itauma, Olympian Kurt Walker and two-time European gold medalist Royston Barney-Smith, boxers that will all be overwhelming favorites against low-tier opponents.
