El peso medio Caoimhin Agyarko 11(7KO)-0 logró un nuevo triunfo en el semifondo del evento de Matchroom Wood-Conlan, puesto que derrotó al joven mexicano Juan Carlos “El Terri” Rubio 18(9KO)-2(1). Con todo, ante un oponente con un nivel modesto y que venía de padecer un knockout, Agyarko no logró su objetivo de extender su racha de seis triunfos antes del límite y además mostró claras brechas. Las puntuaciones fueron de doble 100-90 y un 98-92
El local pareció centrado en intentar causar daños críticos con sus golpes de poder, así que se olvidó de su jab, y a menudo de su defensa, aguardando el momento para arrojar un explosivo hook o contragolpear con potentes rectos las manos de Rubio. De todos modos, el mexicano no tenía frecuencia de golpes y estaba bastante conservador, por lo que más allá de algunos cruzados tampoco logró grandes resultados ante un Agyarko que dejaba enormes huecos para ser golpeado.
Poco a poco, el invicto empezó a sacar con más frecuencia sus cruzados zurdos, puño que le dio recurrentes resultados positivos en el cuarto asalto junto a algún derechazo, pero Agyarko tampoco aceleró demasiado sus pasos. Así, continuó llegando con salteados potentes puños ante un Rubio sin mucho más objetivo que aguantar y que, eso sí, mostró encaje. Pese a esta cualidad, Rubio quedó seriamente dañado en el octavo round por un directo diestro precedido por un gancho zurdo, aunque logró reponerse y Agyarko no terminó de encontrar el golpe decisivo que hiciese a su adversario derrumbarse.
Harper venció en el peso ligero
Después del revés de ser brutalmente noqueada y destronada, la exmonarca británica Terri “Belter” Harper 12(6KO)-1(1)-1 regresó a la senda del triunfo y recuperó moral con una amplísima victoria unánime sobre la argentina Yamila Belén Abellaneda 13(3KO)-5-1. Las puntuaciones fueron de triple 99-91.
Ordenada y con un buen manejo de los directos, Harper tuvo un inicio preciso y efectivo como en sus mejores noches, así que acumuló confianza y con el paso de los minutos empezó a desplegar también claros hooks arriba y abajo, uppercuts y buenas esquivas de cintura. Abellaneda tiene experiencia y coraje, por lo que soportó el castigo y respondió lo mejor que pudo en corta con voluntariosos curvos. Pese a ello, y aunque la británica sufrió un corte por choque de cabezas, Harper mantuvo su amplio dominio de las acciones tanto usando sus rectos en media-larga como sus variados ganchos en corta y media-corta.
Pasada la mitad, la local perdió algo de explosividad y de frecuencia, algo que coincidió con algo más de empeño ofensivo de la argentina. Sin embargo, Harper se movió por el ring, uso su jab con buen timing, realizó plásticas acciones elusivas y conectó contragolpes nítidos, de modo que siguió neutralizando a Abellaneda y después de diez asaltos su victoria fue incuestionable.

Middleweight Caoimhin Agyarko 11(8KO)-0 achieved a new triumph in the co-feature of the Matchroom event Wood-Conlan, since he defeated the young Mexican Juan Carlos “El Terri” Rubio 18 (9KO)-2(2). However, against an opponent without a high level and who had just suffered a knockout, Agyarko did not achieve his goal of extending his streak of six wins by stoppage and also showed obvious breaches in his boxing. The scorecards were double 100-90 and one 98-92.
The local seemed focused on trying to deal critical damage with his power shots, so he forgot about his jab, and often his defense too, waiting the moment to throw an explosive hook or to counter with powerful straight punches. In any case, the Mexican did not have a good frequency of punches and was quite inactive so, beyond some left hooks, he did not achieve great results against an Agyarko who had huge gaps in his defense.
Little by little, the unbeaten began to connect more his left hook, punch that gave him recurring positive results in the fourth round along with some right hands, but Agyarko did not speed up his steps too much. Thus, he continued to connect with some sporadic hands against a rival without much more objective than not to lose by stoppage and who showed good chin. Despite this quality, Rubio was seriously hurt in the eighth round by a straight right preceded by a left hook, although he managed to recover and Agyarko did not end up finding the decisive blow that could make his opponent succumb.
Harper won at lightweight
After the brutal knockout and the end of her reign, former British champion Terri “Belter” Harper 12(6KO)-1(1)-1 returned to winning ways and regained morale with a lopsided unanimous decision victory over the Argentine Yamila Belen Abellaneda 13(3KO)-5-1. The scorecards were of triple 99-91.
With order and with a good use of her straight punches, Harper had a precise and effective start like on her best nights, so she built up confidence and as the minutes went by she also began to connect good hooks up and down, uppercuts and good waist dodges. Abellaneda has experience and courage, so she took the punishment and responded the best she could in close range with willful hooks. Despite this, and although the British suffered a cut due to a clash of heads, Harper maintained her control of the actions both using her straight punches in mid-long range and her varied hooks in close range.
After the half point, the local lost some explosiveness and punching frequency, something that coincided with a little more offensive effort from the Argentine. However, Harper moved around the ring, used her jab with good timing, performed elusive actions and landed sharp counterpunches, so she continued to neutralize Abellaneda and after ten rounds her victory was unquestionable.
