Este jueves se ha producido el debut profesional de un nuevo miembro en la saga de boxeadores Tszyu. Y es que, siguiendo los pasos de su hermano mayor Tim y de su padre Kosta, hoy ha combatido en su primer duelo en el boxeo de pago Nikita Tszyu 1(1KO)-0, quien ha batido en el segundo asalto al también australiano Aaron Stahl 2(0KO)-1(1)-1.
Evidentemente, como todo debutante, Nikita Tszyu tuvo ciertos desajustes, en su caso en la gestión de los espacios y en cuanto a descuidos defensivos. Con todo, aunque se encimó un tanto, el púgil zurdo mostró una izquierda recta muy afilada, que conectó contra su rival con precisión en varias ocasiones hasta provocarle una inflamación bajo el ojo derecho.
El castigo contra Stahl se acumuló rápidamente, pareciendo que N. Tszyu cuenta con pegada y fortaleza, así que en el segundo round unos uppercuts derribaron al no favorito, que recibió un par de débiles curvos cuando ya había puesto la rodilla en la lona. Esta acción no revistió demasiada importancia y realmente dio la sensación de que el novato la había realizado por mera inexperiencia y precipitación y no con mala intención.
En cualquier caso, cuando se levantó Stahl y la pelea siguió, Tszyu lanzó un gancho diestro que más que golpear a su rival le empujó hacia la lona, si bien el boxeador caído no estaba en gran estado y el árbitro paró el combate.
En definitiva, más allá de los peros que se puedan poner a su actuación, Tszyu mostró potencial en este primer duelo, especialmente en tareas ofensivas, por lo que, contando además con muy buen apoyo, será interesante ver su desarrollo y comprobar qué nivel alcanza una vez que haya acumulado más experiencia de ring y ciertas evoluciones.
Wilson se desquitó
El boxeador de buena carrera amateur Liam Wilson 10(7KO)-1(1) sufrió un duro revés el pasado julio, cuando padeció su primera derrota profesional a manos del peligroso filipino Joe Noynay 19(8KO)-3(1)-2, que le batió en cinco rounds. Con todo, Wilson no estaba dispuesto simplemente a dejar pasar esta derrota y encaró directamente una revancha ante este rival en el respaldo del Tszyu-Stahl. Este movimiento del australiano fue todo un éxito, dado que Wilson logró vencer en el segundo round a Noynay, que en el pesaje no dio el peso.
En el primer asalto ambos boxeadores se midieron con el jab y se conectaron algunos directos, con el diestro Wilson llegando al rostro y el zurdo Noynay al cuerpo. Ya en el segundo round, Wilson impactó un gancho de izquierda a la contra que dañó al visitante, que cayó a la lona tras recibir una combinación de espaldas a las cuerdas. Poco después de la reanudación Wilson golpeó a su rival con una combinación directo diestro-gancho zurdo que, aunque no pareció llevar excesiva potencia, tiró de espaldas al tapiz a Noynay, que se levantó mientras su esquina entraba al ring y paraba el enfrentamiento.
Antes de esta derrota, Noynay era 6º WBO y 14º WBC e IBF superpluma, por lo que el triunfo de Wilson le supondrá ingresar en las listas y reemprender la persecución de sus objetivos en la parte alta de la división.

Following the footsteps of his older brother Tim and his father Kosta, today has fought in his first bout in the paid ranks Nikita Tszyu 1(1KO)-0, who has beaten in the second round fellow Australian Aaron Stahl 2(0KO)-1(1)-1.
Obviously, like all debutants, Nikita Tszyu made certain mistakes, in his case in the management of distance, in addition to defensive oversights. Still, although he sometimes close distance too much, the southpaw showed a razor-sharp straight left, which he landed on his opponent with precision several times until it caused a swelling under his right eye.
The punishment against Stahl kept coming up, with N. Tszyu appearing to have punch and strength, so in the second round some uppercuts dropped the underdog, who received a couple of weak hooks when he had already put his knee on the mat. This action was not very important, and it gave the impression that the rookie did it out of mere inexperience and haste and not with malicious intent.
In any case, when Stahl got up and the fight continued, Tszyu threw a right hook that, rather than hitting his opponent, pushed him to the canvas, although the fallen boxer was not in great condition and the referee stopped the fight.
In short, beyond the flaws in his performance, Tszyu showed potential in this first duel, especially in offensive tasks, so, with a good team supporting him, it will be interesting to watch his development and see what level reaches once he has accumulated more ring experience and certain evolutions.
Wilson won rematch
The boxer with a good amateur career Liam Wilson 10(7KO)-1(1) suffered a setback last July, when he lost for the first time as a professional against the dangerous Filipino Joe Noynay 19(8KO)-3(1)-2, who beat him in five rounds. However, Wilson wasn’t about to simply let this loss slide, so he headed straight to a rematch with this rival in the Tszyu-Stahl undercard. This move by the Australian was a complete success, as Wilson managed to beat in the second round Noynay, who did not make weight.
In the first round both boxers measured each other with their jabs and some straight punches, with the orthodox Wilson hitting the head and the southpaw Noynay targeting the body. In the second round, Wilson connected a counter left hook that damaged the visitor, who fell to the canvas after receiving a combination with his back to the ropes. Shortly after the restart, Wilson hit his opponent with a straight right-left hook combination that, although it didn’t seem to carry too much power, knocked down Noynay, who got up as his corner entered the ring and stopped the confrontation.
Prior to this loss, Noynay was 6th WBO in addition to 14th WBC and 14th IBF at super featherweight, so Wilson’s win will put him in the rankings and allow him to resume the pursuit of his goals at the top of the division.
