Campeón mundial WBA e IBF: Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev 10(7KO)-0. Uzbekistán. Dos defensas de sus cinturones unificados.
El actual número 1 de la división del peso supergallo Akhmadaliev es de momento el mayor exponente de una sensacional generación de púgiles de Uzbekistán que están extendiendo cada vez más la importancia, los logros y el interés del boxeo de dicho país centroasiático, que hasta hace no demasiado estaba focalizado casi exclusivamente en el boxeo amateur. En esta modalidad Akhmadaliev comenzó a desarrollarse como combatiente cuando su padre le llevó a un gimnasio de boxeo y este deporte le entusiasmó. De ese modo se inició un extraordinario recorrido amateur que le vería lograr, entre otras medallas, un bronce olímpico, dos platas respectivamente en los mundiales absoluto y junior, un oro y una plata en los campeonatos asiáticos, dos oros en los nacionales uzbekos y en torno a 300 victorias.
Tras este formidable recorrido, Akhmadaliev estaba más que preparado para un rápido avance profesional: debutando en marzo de 2018, tras ocho combates y menos de dos años de carrera en el boxeo de pago logró derrotar al entonces número 1 de la división Daniel Román y proclamarse campeón unificado, siendo precedido este logro por varias excelentes actuaciones, como la que ofreció en su vencida eliminatoria ante Isaac Zárate. Desafortunadamente, el frenético ritmo de avance en su trayectoria se encontró con el parón boxístico de 2020, reanudando posteriormente su reinado Akhmadaliev con una contundente y fácil victoria ante todo un excampeón mundial como Ryosuke Iwasa.
Último combate: El día 19 de noviembre Akhmadaliev tenía previsto disputar una defensa obligatoria de su cinturón WBA ante Ronny Ríos, pero la baja de este aspirante conllevó que tuviese que enfrentarse al bravo y enrachado sustituto José Velásquez, al que derrotó por amplia decisión unánime.

Próximo combate y defensa obligatoria IBF: Por ahora Akhmadaliev no tiene programado un nuevo choque, pero deberá hacer frente a continuación a su aspirante obligatorio IBF, el exmonarca mundial filipino Marlon Tapales, con quien está negociando los términos del campeonato.
Defensa obligatoria WBA y eliminatorias: A pesar de que no pudo competir en la fecha prevista, Ronny Ríos sigue siendo el aspirante obligatorio de la Asociación. A éste le siguen en la clasificación el exretador mundial Azat Hovhannisyan, quien estuvo emplazado a una eliminatoria ante Ra’eese Aleem antes de que este último renunciase a ella, y el excampeón mundial Tomoki Kameda, que venció una eliminatoria ante Yonfrez Parejo. Por lo tanto, no hay duda de que Akhmadaliev tendrá un retador contra el cual cumplir sus compromisos como campeón de la Asociación.

Campeón mundial WBC y WBO: Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton 20(8KO)-0. Estados Unidos. Una defensa de su cinturón WBO, ninguna defensa de su cinturón WBC.
En estos momentos sólo hay un titular más en la división del peso supergallo, el estadounidense Fulton, un boxeador bastante diferente respecto a Akhmadaliev en cuanto a estilo. Con el uzbeko, Fulton sí comparte un temprano inicio en el boxeo amateur, si bien sus éxitos fueron mucho menos relevantes: obtuvo 75 victorias y su mayor logro fue el oro en los Golden Gloves. No obstante, aunque no se puede comparar en logros en el boxeo con camiseta a Akhmadaliev y necesitó muchas más peleas de desarrollo, Fulton es un boxeador profesional muy correoso, siendo su mayor cualidad su increíble resistencia, que ha marcado la diferencia en algunos de sus ocho triunfos sobre invictos.
Antes de alcanzar su primer mundial, Fulton fue afianzando su condición de destacado prospecto de Premier Boxing Champions con triunfos ante el entonces invicto Adam López, el excampeón mundial Paulus Ambunda o el prospecto kazajo Arnold Khegai, pugnas en las que no maravilló pero cumplió su objetivo y dio muestras de sus virtudes. Estos logros precedieron el acceso a la pelea por el cinturón mundial WBO vacante ante el imbatido prospecto Angelo Leo, a quien venció dando muestras de su versatilidad y aguante al cansancio.
Último combate: Sin una defensa de por medio, Fulton encaró directamente una unificación ante el entonces titular WBC Brandon Figueroa, ofreciendo ambos una batalla repleta de acción e intercambios durante doce rounds. Con el encuentro terminado pareció que Fulton, que había quedado tocado en varias ocasiones y que recibió más golpes de poder, iba a perder el veredicto, pero los jueces le dieron un controvertido triunfo mayoritario.

Próximo combate y defensa obligatoria WBC y WBO: Aunque por el momento no ha sido anunciado el combate, tanto por el Consejo como por la Organización el exmonarca mundial Daniel Román está posicionado como el aspirante mandatorio, de modo que es de suponer que Fulton se tendrá que enfrentar a él en su próxima subida al ring en los próximos meses. Para llegar a ser aspirante oficial, Román venció una eliminatoria ante Juan Carlos Payano y afianzó su posición con un posterior triunfo sobre Ricardo Espinoza.

The current number 1 of the super bantamweight division Akhmadaliev is the greatest example of a sensational generation of Uzbek boxers who are increasingly extending the importance, achievements and interest of boxing in their Central Asian country, which not too long ago was focused almost exclusively on amateur boxing. In this modality Akhmadaliev began to develop as a fighter when his father took him to a boxing gym. In this way he began an extraordinary amateur journey in which he achieved, among other medals, an Olympic bronze, two silvers respectively in the adult and youth world championships, one gold and one silver in the Asian championships, two golds in the Uzbek national championships and around 300 victories.
After all that experience Akhmadaliev was more than prepared for a fast professional advance: debuting in March 2018, after eight fights and less than two years of career in the paid ranks he managed to defeat the then number 1 of the division Daniel Román and proclaim himself unified champion. This achievement was preceded by several excellent performances, such as the one he offered in his victory in an eliminator against Isaac Zárate. Unfortunately, the frenetic pace of progress in his career met with the boxing break of 2020, subsequently resuming Akhmadaliev his reign with a resounding and easy victory against the former world champion Ryosuke Iwasa.
Last fight: On November 19, Akhmadaliev was scheduled to make a mandatory defense of his WBA belt against Ronny Ríos, but finally he had to face the brave substitute José Velásquez, whom he defeated by wide unanimous decision.

Right now there is only one more champion in the super bantamweight division, American Stephen Fulton, a boxer quite different from Akhmadaliev in style. Fulton shares with the Uzbek an early start in amateur boxing, although his successes were much less relevant: he obtained 75 victories and his greatest achievement was a gold in the Golden Gloves. However, although Fulton cannot be compared to Akhmadaliev in achievements in amateur boxing and he needed many more development fights, “Cool Boy Steph” is a very tough professional boxer, and his greatest quality is an incredible endurance, which has been the defining factor in some of his eight wins over undefeated boxers.
Before reaching his first world championship bout, Fulton consolidated his status as an outstanding Premier Boxing Champions prospect with triumphs against the then undefeated Adam López, the former world champion Paulus Ambunda and the Kazakh prospect Arnold Khegai, fights in which he did not shine overwhelmingly but fulfilled his objectives and showed his virtues. These achievements preceded the access to the fight for the vacant world WBO belt against the unbeaten prospect Angelo Leo, whom he beat with his versatility and excellent stamina.
Last fight: Without defenses, Fulton faced the back then WBC belt holder Brandon Figueroa, offering both an action-packed battle full of exchanges over twelve rounds. With the match over, it seemed that Fulton, who had been hurt on some occasions and who received more power punches, was going to lose the verdict, but the judges gave him a controversial majority victory.
Next fight and WBC and WBO mandatory defenses: Although at the moment the fight has not been announced, the Council and the Organization have the former world champion Daniel Román as the mandatory challenger, so it is assumed that Fulton will have to face him in his next ring appearance in the coming months.
