En este día sobresale una velada organizada por Boxing Insider Promotions, emitida por DAZN, en la que el peso superwélter con buena carrera amateur Brian Ceballo 13(7KO)-1 regresará al ring seis meses después de sufrir su primera derrota profesional. Su contrincante será el argentino Luis Alberto Verón 20(9KO)-6(1)-2, que tras aguantar todos los rounds ante Shohjahon Ergashev y Alexis Rocha sufrió una rápida derrota contra pronóstico el pasado diciembre.
En el respaldo de este cartel, el olímpico mongol Tsendbaatar Erdenebat 5(3KO)-0, más conocido en los últimas días por que Ryan García (intentando justificar su derrota) le acusó de ser un topo, afrontará una pelea de desarrollo ante el resistente mexicano Edy Valencia 20(7KO)-9-6. Por otro lado, la excampeona mundial japonesa Miyo Yoshida 15(0KO)-3 buscará regresar a la senda del triunfo (tras perder su título mundial supermosca) ante la siempre competente estadounidense Indeya Smith 6(1KO)-6-2, que viene de derrotar contra pronóstico a Sulem Urbina.
También el jueves, en este caso en el Eventfinda Stadium de Auckland, Nueva Zelanda, el 8º IBF del peso semipesado Jerome Pampellone 15(8KO)-0 tratará de conseguir su primer triunfo de 2023, y escalar algún peldaño, combatiendo contra un Mose Auimatagi Jr. 15(10KO)-2-2 que recientemente sólo ha perdido contra el aspirante mundial del peso crucero David Light.
Viernes 28 de abril
Sin lugar a duda, el mejor enfrentamiento del viernes será el campeonato de Europa por el vacante cinturón del peso wélter que se desarrollará en Laval, Francia, entre dos invictos como el local Jordy Weiss 30(3KO)-0 y el español Jon Míguez 17(8KO)-0.
Como Weiss carece de pegada (tiene un pobrísimo 10% de knockouts), es un boxeador que suele perder rounds y tuvo más dificultades que Míguez venciendo a un rival en común, el español Aitor Nieto (se enfrentaron a él con cuatro meses de diferencia), parece que el visitante tiene una buena opción de éxito. No obstante, si Míguez no puede dañarlo decisivamente, necesitará ser todo lo contundente posible y no dejar margen para la duda, ya que siendo Weiss un invicto que pelea en casa y que ha tenido algunos veredictos cuestionables a su favor, el riesgo de una decisión localista es evidente.
Al margen de este encuentro, el viernes tendrá estos otros:
-En el Gimnasio Josué Neri Santos de Ciudad Juárez, México, televisado por ESPN Knockout, el exretador mundial Miguel “Mickey” Román 65(49KO)-14(4) buscará llevar a cuatro su racha de triunfos enfrentándose a un rival 16 años más joven como Jorge “Kan” Mata 15(10KO)-1(1)-2, que perdió su penúltimo combate contra “Rocky” Hernández.
-En el Complejo Deportivo Teniente Origone de Justiniano Posse, Argentina, televisado por Direct TV, el invicto peso medio Juan Manuel Taborda 18(11KO)-0-1, 9º WBO, pondrá fin a una inactividad de siete meses enfrentándose a su compatriota Emiliano Exequiel Pucheta 17(7KO)-6(1).
-En el York Hall de Londres, Reino Unido, Martin McDonagh 11(1KO)-2(1) y Ben Smith 11(0KO)-0 combatirán por el título Southern Area del peso ligero que posee el primero.
-En el Pabellón de Esgrima del Centro Olimpico de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, el joven peso mosca Franklyn de Paula Vásquez 6(6KO)-0 buscará mantener su 100% de knockouts contra el venezolano Gilbert González 18(13KO)-4(3)-1 que ha sufrido sus derrotas ante rivales como “El Niño” Sandoval o “Habanerito” López.
Sábado 29 de abril
La semana inmediatamente después de una importante cartelera en PPV, normalmente no suelen haber grandes veladas. Esto se cumple en este sábado, en el que la única cartelera estadounidense relevante será la encabezada por el William Zepeda vs. Jaime Arboleda organizada por Golden Boy y emitida por DAZN. Por otro lado, en España se producirá una cartelera muy por encima de los estándares habituales en el país. En ella se incluirán un bien emparejado combate del peso superligero entre Jonathan Alonso y Zoravor Petrosyan, una revancha entre el veterano Ronny Landaeta y José Luis Navarro Jr. y un choque entre Jon Fernández y Petr Petrov, entre otros duelos. -En el Polideportivo de Los Polvorines, Argentina, se producirá un enfrentamiento entre excampeonas mundiales del peso mosca entre las argentinas Leonela Paola Yúdica 18(1KO)-1-3 y Tamara Elisabet Demarco 11(0KO)-5(2).
-En el Palenque Fex de Mexicali, México, TV Azteca televisará un evento encabezado por un choque del peso supergallo entre el joven prospecto José Ramírez Maciel 18(9KO)-1 y un Fidel Castro 8(5KO)-3(1) que viene de una derrota.

On this day, an evening organized by Boxing Insider Promotions, and broadcast on DAZN, stands out. In it super welterweight, with a good amateur career, Brian Ceballo 13 (7KO)-1 will return to the ring six months after suffering his first professional defeat. His opponent will be Argentinian Luis Alberto Verón 20(9KO)-6(1)-2 who, after reaching the last bell against Shohjahon Ergashev and Alexis Rocha, suffered a quick upset defeat last December.
As for the support bouts, Mongolian Olympian Tsendbaatar Erdenebat 5(3KO)-0, better known in recent days because Ryan García (trying to justify his defeat) accused him of being a mole, will face a development fight against the resistant Mexican Edy Valencia 20(7KO)-9-6. Without a doubt, the best fight on Friday will be the European championship for the vacant welterweight belt that will take place in Laval, France, between two undefeated boxers as local Jordy Weiss 30(3KO)-0 and Spanish Jon Míguez 17(8KO)-0.
As Weiss lacks punch (he has a 10% knockout ratio), he is a boxer who usually loses rounds and had more difficulties than Míguez beating a common opponent, the Spanish Aitor Nieto (they faced him four months apart), it seems that the visitor has a good chance of success. However, if Míguez cannot decisively damage him, he will need to be as forceful as possible and leave no room for doubt, as Weiss is an unbeaten boxer fighting at home (after some questionable verdicts in his favor) and the risk of a hometown decision is obvious.

The week immediately after a big pay-per-view card usually doesn’t have important events.
