Desafortunadamente, como en tantos otros viernes antes de esperadas veladas, la jornada del día 21 sólo ofrecerá un pequeño grupo de combates mencionables:
-En el DoubleTree Hotel de Ontario, Estados Unidos, Thompson Boxing ofrecerá una de sus veladas emitidas por YouTube en la que el peso superpluma estadounidense George “El Yuyu” Acosta 14(2KO)-1, tras quedar tocado ante Isaac Avelar y ser derribado ante Marlin Sims, dará un paso atrás ante un boxeador voluntarioso como el colombiano César Villarraga 10(5KO)-6(1)-1 pero que es 11 años mayor y viene con un récord parcial de 1-5-1.
-En el Royal International Convention Centre de Bowen Hills, Australia, el invicto prospecto Jalen Tait 11(7KO)-0 disputará su mayor test hasta la fecha, y su primer choque a diez asaltos, combatiendo por el vacante cinturón australiano del peso ligero contra Kye MacKenzie 21(17KO)-4(1), que se ha quedado corto en sus mayores oportunidades pero que ha sido campeón nacional en dos divisiones.
-En Montesilvano, Italia, el peso superwélter Alessio Mastronunzio 11(3KO)-3(1) intentará explotar la victoria que obtuvo como visitante en Francia en su última subida al ring enfrentándose a la resistente piedra de toque Emanuele Cavallucci 14(5KO)-7(1)-1.
-En el Salthill Leisureland Complex de Galway, Irlanda, Jamie Morrissey 5(1KO)-0 y Kevin Cronin 5(2KO)-1 disputarán una revancha, en esta ocasión con el vacante título nacional irlandés del peso semipesado en juego. En el primer combate, el pasado febrero, Morrissey se impuso por un único punto de diferencia.
Sábado 22 de abril
Evidentemente, el mayor enfrentamiento de la semana será el choque que sostendrán Gervonta Davis y Ryan García, duelo en el que “Tank” pondrá a prueba de una vez por todas de qué está hecho realmente “King Ry”. Previa del combate siguiendo el link.
El respaldo principal del Davis-García estará compuesto por una pugna del peso supermedio entre el muy prometedor David Morrell y el bronce olímpico brasileño Yamaguchi Falcao, la revancha entre el plata olímpico uzbeko Bektemir Melikuziev y el veteranísimo Gabriel Rosado, y por un choque del peso medio entre el jovencísimo prospecto estadounidense Elijah García y el mexicano Kevin Salgado. Por otro lado, en Reino Unido, Matchroom Boxing y DAZN ofrecerán un evento en el que Shavkat Rakhimov, monarca mundial IBF del peso superpluma, pondrá en juego su corona contra el extitular Joe Cordina. En el respaldo se producirá el campeonato británico Gwynne-Woodruff y participarán boxeadores como Zelfa Barrett, Jordan Thompson y Sandy Ryan. Previa del evento siguiendo el link.
A la misma hora se producirá una cartelera en el G2A Arena de Rzeszow, Polonia, emitida por TVP Sport, Sky y ESPN Knockout, en la que el local Lukasz Rozanski 14(13KO)-0 y el croata Alen Babić 11(10KO)-0 combatirán por el vacante “cinturón mundial” WBC del peso puente. Al margen del penoso cinturón en juego, el enfrentamiento entre estos dos agresivos peleadores debería ser entretenido y tendría que terminar con alguien noqueado.
En cuanto al respaldo, el peso pesado Martin Bakole 18(13KO)-1(1), 2º WBA, disputará un rodaje contra el invicto ucraniano Ihor Shevadzutskyi 10(8KO)-0, el exretador mundial local Michal Cieslak 23(17KO)-2 buscará proclamarse campeón de Europa del peso crucero peleando por el cinto vacante contra el francés, exaspirante a este título Dylan Bregeon 12(3KO)-2-1 y la polaca Laura Grzyb 8(3KO)-0 tratará de conquistar la corona europea del peso supergallo contra la italiana Maria Cecchi 8(2KO)-1.
Mencionados estos encuentros, el sábado tendrá estas otras pugnas:
-En el Mohegan Sun Casino de Uncasville, Estados Unidos, el exretador mundial Tramaine Williams 20(6KO)-1 y el enrachado Elijah Pierce 16(14KO)-2 combatirán por un buen posicionamiento en el ranking WBC del peso supergallo.
-En Katak Motors en Bielefeld, Alemania, en teoría emitido por YouTube, el peso crucero local Leon Harth 21(13KO)-5(2) disputará un combate exigente para su nivel ante el excampeón nacional italiano del peso pesado Luca D’Ortenzi 17(4KO)-2, que viene de la mayor victoria de su carrera.
-En Empoli, Italia, Dragan Lepei 21(10KO)-6(3)-2 y Giovanni Carpentieri 16(4KO)-4(1)-3 combatirán por el vacante cinturón de campeón de Italia del peso semipesado.
-En el Spiroudome Arena de Charleroi, Bélgica, el peso superpluma local Miko Khatchatryan 15(7KO)-1 disputará su tercer combate desde su derrota ante Joe Cordina enfrentándose al venezolano Luis Millán 22(16KO)-5(2), que ha logrado dos victorias como visitante en sus últimos tres enfrentamientos.
-En el St Kilda Town Hall de Melbourne, Australia, el prospecto uzbeko del peso superligero Jakhongir Rasulov 4(4KO)-0 disputará su mayor test hasta la fecha ante el joven pegador filipino Jhun Rick “Iron Fist” Carcedo 9(9KO)-1.
-En las instalaciones del Club Atlético Timbuense en Timbúes, Argentina, TyC Sports televisará la segunda pelea de la extop 10 libra por libra femenina Daniela Romina “La Bonita” Bermúdez 30(10KO)-4(1)-3 desde que fue noqueada por Amanda Serrano, siendo su rival en este campeonato de Argentina del peso pluma la exretadora mundial Daniela Bárbara Rivero 9(1KO)-4(1).

Unfortunately, as on so many other Fridays before long-awaited fights, this day will only offer a small group of mentionable bouts:
-At the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario, United States, Thompson Boxing will offer one of its evenings broadcast on YouTube. In it, American super featherweight George “El Yuyu” Acosta 14(2KO)-1, after being hurt by Isaac Avelar and being knocked down by Marlin Sims, will take a step down against Colombian Cesar Villarraga 10(5KO)-6(1)-1, a boxer who is competent but who is 11 years older and will step into the ring with a recent record of 1-5-1.
-At the Royal International Convention Center in Bowen Hills, Australia, undefeated prospect Jalen Tait 11(7KO)-0 will face his biggest test to date, and his first ten-rounder, fighting for the vacant Australian lightweight belt against Kye MacKenzie 21(17KO)-4(1), who has come up short on his biggest opportunities but who is a two-division national champion.
-In Montesilvano, Italy, super welterweight Alessio Mastronunzio 11(3KO)-3(1) will try to keep momentum, after the victory he earned on the road in France in his last bout, facing his tough compatriot Emanuele Cavallucci 14(5KO)-7(1)-1.
-At the Salthill Leisureland Complex in Galway, Ireland, Jamie Morrissey 5(1KO)-0 and Kevin Cronin 5(2KO)-1 will fight in a rematch, this time with the vacant Irish national light heavyweight title on the line. In the first fight, last February, Morrissey prevailed by a single point difference.

Obviously, the biggest fight of the week will be the clash between Gervonta Davis and Ryan García, a duel in which “Tank” will put to the test once and for all what “King Ry” is really made of. Preview following the link.
Davis-García main support will have a super middleweight fight between the very promising David Morrell and the Brazilian Olympic bronze medalist Yamaguchi Falcao, the rematch between the Uzbek Olympic silver medalist Bektemir Melikuziev and the very veteran Gabriel Rosado, and a middleweight clash between the very young American prospect Elijah García and Mexican Kevin Salgado. On the other hand, in the United Kingdom, Matchroom Boxing and DAZN will offer an event in which Shavkat Rakhimov, IBF super featherweight champion, will put his crown on the line against former titleholder Joe Cordina. Gavin Gwynne and Craig Woodruff will battle in a British championship on the undercard, in which boxers such as Zelfa Barrett, Jordan Thompson and Sandy Ryan will participate too. At the same time, in the G2A Arena in Rzeszow, Poland, TVP Sport, Sky and ESPN Knockout will televise a card in which the local Lukasz Rozanski 14(13KO)-0 and the Croatian Alen Babić 11(10KO)-0 will fight for the vacant WBC bridgeweight «world belt». Regardless of the pathetic title at stake, the matchup between these two aggressive fighters should be entertaining and will surely end with a knock out.
As for the suppport, heavyweight Martin Bakole 18(13KO)-1(1), WBA number 2, will face a stay-busy fight against undefeated Ukrainian Ihor Shevadzutskyi 10(8KO)-0, local former world title challenger Michal Cieslak 23(17KO)- 2 will seek to become European cruiserweight champion fighting for the vacant belt against the French Dylan Bregeon 12(3KO)-2-1 and Polish Laura Grzyb 8(3KO)-0 will try to conquer the European super bantamweight crown against Italian Maria Cecchi 8(2KO)-1.
Saturday will have also these other bouts:

-In Empoli, Italy, Dragan Lepei 21(10KO)-6(3)-2 and Giovanni Carpentieri 16(4KO)-4(1)-3 will fight for the vacant Italian light heavyweight belt.
-At the Spiroudome Arena in Charleroi, Belgium, local super featherweight Miko Khatchatryan 15(7KO)-1 will face his third fight since his loss against Joe Cordina clashing against Venezuelan Luis Millán 22(16KO)-5(2), who has achieved two wins as a visitor in his last three matches.
-At the St Kilda Town Hall in Melbourne, Australia, Uzbek super lightweight prospect Jakhongir Rasulov 4(4KO)-0 will have his biggest test to date against the young Filipino puncher Jhun Rick “Iron Fist” Carcedo 9(9KO)-1.
-At the Club Atlético Timbuense facilities in Timbúes, Argentina, TyC Sports will televise the second fight of former top 10 pound for pound female boxer Daniela Romina “La Bonita” Bermúdez 30(10KO)-4(1)-3 since she was knocked out by Amanda Serrano. Her opponent in this Argentine featherweight championship will be former world title challenger Daniela Bárbara Rivero 9(1KO)-4(1).
