Los hermanos Shigeoka asaltarán la cumbre del peso mínimo el 16 de abril ante el monarca WBC Pradabsri y el extitular Cuarto

Los hermanos japoneses Yudai y Ginjiro Shigeoka no piensan perder el tiempo en su lucha por dominar la división del peso mínimo, y en su sexta y novena peleas profesionales respectivamente se enfrentarán a dos boxeadores de élite de la categoría buscando mejorar todavía más sus posiciones en la cima.
Ha sido confirmado oficialmente que el día 16 de abril, en el Segundo Gimnasio Nacional Yoyogi de Tokyo, Japón, encabezarán una velada organizada por Kameda Promotions y en la que se enfrentarán a dos de los más insignes nombres de la división en la actualidad. Por un lado, Yudai Shigeoka retará al tailandés, campeón mundial WBC, Panya Pradabsri, mientras que por el otro lado Ginjiro Shigeoka se verá las caras con el filipino, exmonarca mundial IBF, René Mark Cuarto.
Es decir, Yudai combatirá contra el para muchos número 1 actual de la división (aunque realmente el mejor peso mínimo es Thammanoon Niyomtrong, campeón WBA), quien rompió el récord invicto del anterior número 1 Wanheng Menayothin; y Ginjiro se medirá a un boxeador que debería seguir siendo campeón mundial pero al que se le robó el título en un choque ante Daniel Valladares.
Respecto a Valladares, que recordemos que iba perdiendo un combate ante Ginjiro Shigeoka antes de fingir que no podía seguir por un cabezazo que él mismo propinó y huir de la pelea (que terminó en No Contest), el titular mexicano dice ahora que está lesionado y que no puede afrontar una defensa obligatoria. Por ello, los dos púgiles perjudicados en choques contra él, es decir Shigeoka y Cuarto, combatirán por un provisional título interino IBF que se convertirá en absoluto si Valladares se niega a medirse a su poseedor.
En definitiva, el boxeo japonés está de enhorabuena por otra velada interesante más confirmada para su calendario de la primera mitad del año, pareciendo que los duelos Pradabsri-Shigeoka y Shigeoka-Cuarto serán muy buenos boxísticamente y que podrían empezar una nueva era en la división.

Japanese brothers Yudai and Ginjiro Shigeoka are wasting no time in their campaign to dominate the minimumweight division, and in their sixth and ninth professional fights respectively they will look to further improve their positions facing two of the division’s elite boxers.
It has been officially confirmed that on April 16, at the Second Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan, they will headline an evening organized by Kameda Promotions in which they will battle two of the most remarkable names in the division today. On the one hand, Yudai Shigeoka will challenge the Thai, WBC world champion, Panya Pradabsri, while on the other hand, Ginjiro Shigeoka will face off against Filipino, former IBF world champion, René Mark Cuarto.
That is to say, Yudai will fight against a boxer who many consider the current number 1 in the division (although really the best minimumweight is Thammanoon Niyomtrong, WBA champion), who broke the undefeated record of the previous number 1 Wanheng Menayothin; and Ginjiro will face a boxer who should still be world champion but who was robbed of his title in a clash against Daniel Valladares.
Regarding Valladares, who was losing a fight against Ginjiro Shigeoka before pretending that he could not continue due to a headbutt that he caused (thus, the bout ended in a No Contest), the Mexican belt holder now says that he is injured and that he cannot face a mandatory defense. For this reason, the two fighters harmed in clashes against Valladares, that is, Shigeoka and Cuarto, will fight for a provisional IBF interim title that will become the full belt if Valladares refuses to face whoever holds it.
In short, Japanese boxing is in luck for another interesting evening more confirmed for its calendar for the first half of the year, as it seems that the Pradabsri-Shigeoka and Shigeoka-Cuarto fights will be very good and that they could start a new era in the division.
