Era de esperar que la potencia del mexicano Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz 24(17KO)-2-1 desbordase a su compatriota Eduardo “Zurdito” Ramírez 27(12KO)-3(1)-3 y que le condujese a la derrota. Aun así, Cruz sorprendió al público asistente logrando imponerse tan rápido como en el segundo asalto, asestándole la primera derrota antes del límite de su carrera a Ramírez.
“Zurdito” intentó caminar por el ring para reducir la presión de su agresivo oponente, pero esto no le sirvió de mucho, ya que fue golpeado por peligrosos y potentes puños aislados mientras él, por su parte, no podía parar los pies para conectar manos contundentes. La persecución de Cruz no se alargó mucho más, ya que en el segundo asalto un brutal cruzado zurdo en una arremetida abatió a Ramírez, que en la reanudación fue llevado a la lona y derrotado por KOT con una combinación de curvos zurdos y directos diestros.
A pesar de que esta pelea llevaba la etiqueta de eliminatoria WBC, se prevé que el campeón mundial indiscutido del peso ligero Devin Haney y Vasily Lomachenko se enfrenten en 2023 si logran superar sus respectivos choques ante George Kambosos y Jamaine Ortiz. Por lo tanto, Cruz podría tener todavía bastante lejos la pelea mundialista. Además, PBC podría tener sobre la mesa un enfrentamiento de revancha entre Gervonta Davis e Isaac Cruz. En cualquier caso, Cruz logró un impactante triunfo más y a principios de año seguramente disputará una pelea de calado.

Before the bout, it was predictable that the power of Mexican Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz 24(17KO)-2-1 would overwhelm his compatriot Eduardo “Zurdito” Ramírez 27(12KO)-3(1)-3 and lead him to defeat. Even so, Cruz surprised the audience by scoring a victory as quickly as in the second round, handing Ramírez his first stoppage defeat.
“Zurdito” walked the ring trying to reduce the pressure of his aggressive opponent, but this did not help him much, as he was hit by dangerous and powerful isolated punches while he, for his part, could not stop his feet to connect hard hands. Cruz’s chase didn’t last much longer, as in the second round a brutal left hook knocked down Ramírez, who after the restart was cornered, taken to the canvas and defeated by TKO with a combination of left hooks and right hands.
Despite this fight being a WBC eliminator, undisputed lightweight world champion Devin Haney and Vasily Lomachenko are expected to square off in 2023 if they are successful in their respective clashes against George Kambosos and Jamaine Ortiz. Therefore, Cruz could still have a long way to go before reaching the world title fight. Additionally, PBC may have on the table a rematch between Gervonta Davis and Isaac Cruz. In any case, last night the Mexican achieved another impressive victory and at the beginning of the next year he will surely fight in an important bout.
