“El Vaquero” Navarrete expondrá su cinturón mundial en duelo de mexicanos contra Eduardo Báez

La compañía Top Rank ha anunciado que el día 20 de agosto, en el Pechanga Arena de San Diego, Estados Unidos, ofrecerá una velada televisada por ESPN, ESPN Deportes y ESPN+ que estará encabezada por un campeonato mundial entre mexicanos. En él, el titular WBO del peso pluma Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete 35(29KO)-1 afrontará la tercera defensa de su reinado ante Eduardo “Gemelo” Báez 21(7KO)-2-2, que viene de una victoria sobre José Enrique Durantes tras su brava actuación en su derrota ante Ra’eese Aleem.
En el semifondo de la velada participará el peso wélter Giovanni Santillán 29(16KO)-0, que se enfrentará a un oponente por confirmar, mientras que la cartelera principal se abrirá con un duelo de revancha entre los peso medio Nico Ali Walsh 5(4KO)-0, nieto de Muhammad Ali, y Reyes Sánchez 7(3KO)-2. Además, en el respaldo emitido por ESPN+ se producirá un interesante choque de invictos peso superligero en el que se enfrentarán el olímpico Lindolfo Delgado 15(13KO)-0 y el prospecto Omar “Pollo” Aguilar 24(23KO)-0.
En el anuncio oficial, el promotor Bob Arum señaló:
“San Diego es una ciudad de grandes peleas, y esta es una increíble cartelera desde arriba hasta abajo. Emanuel Navarrete siempre ofrece combates con tremenda acción. Santillán es un joven fantástico que atrajo mucho apoyo de los fans locales la última vez que peleó aquí. Nico Ali Walsh ha mejorado a pasos agigantados desde que se convirtió en profesional el año pasado, y espero que no dejará duda esta vez contra Sánchez”.

In addition, in the undercard broadcast by ESPN+ there will be an interesting clash of undefeated super lightweights in which the Olympian Lindolfo Delgado 15(13KO)-0 and the prospect Omar «Pollo» Aguilar 24(23KO)-0 will face each other.
