El peso supermedio Erik Bazinyan se mantuvo invicto y bien clasificado sumando un triunfo unánime sobre el exaspirante mundial Marcelo “El Terrible” Cóceres, pero su victoria fue muchísimo más ajustada de lo que las sesgadas cartulinas señalaron y es evidente que necesita más experiencia.

De todos modos, a Bazinyan no le fue tan mal como al peso superwélter Artem Oganesyan, que padeció una de las mayores sorpresas del año en el boxeo canadiense al ser derrotado por el veterano Dante Jardón. En el resto del respaldo sumaron triunfos Mary Spencer, Steven Butler e Yves Ulysse Jr.

El jueves también se produjo el retorno al ring de un boxeador controvertidísimo como el peso pesado Jarrell Miller que, lastrado por un descomunal sobrepeso, sólo pudo vencer por decisión unánime a Ariel Bracamonte en un nada brillante combate. En este cartel el olímpico Mirco Cuello terminó en dos rounds con Leonardo Padilla, Tobías Reyes se proclamó campeón de Argentina supermosca e Ivan Dychko sumó una victoria por decisión.

Viernes 24 de junio
Respecto a la velada argentina del viernes, el local Brian Nahuel Suárez fue vencido en el primer asalto por el visitante Albert Ramírez, quien ahora recibirá un buen posicionamiento en las listas del peso semipesado. También en el evento, Clara Lescurat se proclamó campeona mundial WBA del peso supermosca ante Maribel Ramírez.

En cuanto al campeonato mundial WBO del peso minimosca, el titular Jonathan González logró una victoria por merecida decisión unánime sobre el olímpico filipino Mark Anthony Barriga, aunque si de verdad pretende unificar a continuación necesitará ofrecer un boxeo muy superior.

Por lo que se refiere al campeonato de Europa del peso medio, la jugada esta vez le salió mal al veterano Matteo Signani 31(11KO)-6(1)-3, que perdió su corona por decisión técnica (triple 50-46) a manos de Anderson Prestot 25(13KO)-2(1). Así terminó un reinado nada brillante y empezó otro que quizás dure poco, puesto que Prestot tiene como aspirante obligatorio al británico Felix Cash. Antes del triunfo de Prestot, el peso superwélter Milan Prat 16(13KO)-0 se proclamó campeón UE con un KOT en el séptimo asalto sobre Amaury Massenaux 10(3KO)-1(1)-1 y continuó con su excelente avance profesional.
Terminando con el viernes, el duelo entre los exaspirantes mundiales Michal Cieslak 22(16KO)-2 y Enrico Koelling 28(9KO)-5(2) concluyó con una victoria del primero en el round inicial con un certero gancho diestro ante un rival con apariencia de estar inadecuadamente preparado. En cualquier caso, Cieslak rebotó de su derrota ante Okolie y en adelante buscará volver a situarse bien en los rankings.
Sábado 25 de junio
El joven estadounidense Jesse “Bam” Rodríguez puso de manifiesto una vez más su tremendo potencial en el boxeo derrotando por KOT en el octavo asalto a un púgil del nivel del excampeón mundial Wisaksil Wangek.

En el choque coestelar el campeón mundial WBA-IBF del peso supergallo Murodjon Akhmadaliev hizo parecer fácil su victoria sobre Ronny Ríos, al que neutralizó con su técnica antes de derrotarlo por KOT en el último asalto.

Antes de estos choques la titular indiscutida del peso wélter Jessica McCaskill logró un triunfo en el tercer asalto sobre Alma Ibarra en un combate para olvidar, mientras que Raymond Ford venció un monótono encuentro ante Richard Medina.

La eliminatoria WBC del peso minimosca entre Elwin Soto 19(13KO)-3 y Hekkie Budler 34(10KO)-4(1) prometía acción, pero el sudafricano recurrió a un boxeo móvil que sorprendió a su contrincante, al que derribó en el último asalto para obtener un triunfo unánime (triple 113-114). De ese modo, Budler se convirtió en retador obligatorio del campeón Kenshiro Teraji, púgil muy astuto y hábil ante el cual el veterano extitular tendrá muy difícil coronarse.
Pasando al evento de Boxxer, el peso superwélter Sam Eggington 32(18KO)-7(2) derrotó al resistente Przemyslaw Zysk 18(6KO)-1 por decisión unánime (117-111 y doble 119-109) aunque su actuación no convenció precisamente a todos, especialmente de cara a un decisivo combate ante un boxeador de nivel alto en el último tercio del año.
La velada dejó también la coronación como campeón inglés del peso medio de Tyler Denny 14(0KO)-2(1)-3 con una decisión dividida (96-93, 97-93 y 94-96) sobre River Wilson Bent 12(5KO)-1-1 y la victoria del invicto peso superligero Cori Gibbs 17(3KO)-0 sobre Carlos “Ratón” Pérez 17(2KO)-7(1)-2 a los puntos (juez-árbitro 79-73) para emplazarse a un paso adelante en su trayectoria.

Para concluir se deben señalar dos resultados más:
-En esta ocasión no logró un knockout, pero el peso supermedio cubano Ihosvany Rafael García 8(6KO)-0 consiguió cumplir su objetivo y lograr una amplia victoria unánime (doble 100-90 y un 98-92) sobre el fogueado Ryno Liebenberg 22(14KO)-8(2)-1, lo que significa que el invicto no tardará en tantear rivales cercanos al top 15.
-El exmonarca mundial Cristofer Rosales 33(21KO)-6(1) obtuvo una victoria por decisión unánime sobre Ernesto Irías 15(9KO)-5-1 con la que retornó a la senda del triunfo y quedó preparado para encarar un choque significativo.

Super middleweight Erik Bazinyan remained undefeated and well ranked with a unanimous decision victory over former world challenger Marcelo “El Terrible” Cóceres, but his victory was much closer than what the biased scorecards indicated and it is clear that he needs more experience. Still, Bazinyan didn’t fare as badly as super welterweight Artem Oganesyan, who suffered one of the biggest upsets of the year in the Canadian scene with a defeat against the veteran Dante Jardon. Thursday also had the return to the ring of a highly controversial boxer like heavyweight Jarrell Miller who, affected by a huge overweight, could only beat Ariel Bracamonte by unanimous decision. In the co-main event, WBA-IBF world super bantamweight champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev made his victory over Ronny Rios look easy, neutralizing his rival with his technique before defeating him by TKO in the last round. Read more following the link.
Before these clashes, the undisputed welterweight titleholder Jessica McCaskill achieved a victory in the third round over Alma Ibarra in a fight to forget, while Raymond Ford won a monotonous match against Richard Medina. Read more following the link.
The WBC light flyweight eliminator between Elwin Soto 19(13KO)-3 and Hekkie Budler 34(10KO)-4(1) promised action, but the South African resorted to a mobile boxing that surprised his opponent, whom he knocked down in the last round to obtain a unanimous decision (triple 113-114).
