Después de su victoria ante el bravo José Velásquez, el uzbeko Murodjon Akhmadaliev 11(8KO)-0 recibió muchas críticas injustificadas, que incluso negaron completamente sus posibilidades de alcanzar el número 1 indiscutible de la categoría. Sin embargo, enfrentándose a un boxeador con más renombre que Velásquez como el fuerte y tenaz Ronny Ríos 33(16KO)-5(4), Akhmadaliev volvió a ofrecer una dominadora actuación, llena de acciones de gran habilidad, con la que neutralizó a su contrincante antes de derrotarlo por KOT en el último round.
Akhmadaliev simplemente está en otro nivel respecto a Ríos, que le puso tenacidad al choque pero que en ningún momento estuvo cómodo ante la actividad, variedad, agilidad y destreza del monarca. Cuando en el comienzo Ríos no tomó la iniciativa, el uzbeko pudo escoger sus golpes a distancia sin dificultad, mientras que cuando el estadounidense trató de avanzar sobre su oponente fue aguijoneado por los jabs de un Akhmadaliev que también conectó secos hooks a la contra entre sus constantes desplazamientos en todas las direcciones.
Dado que el monarca raramente detenía sus pies y es mucho más rápido, Ríos no podía trabajar con sus características combinaciones, y de hecho cuando las acciones llegaban a la distancia corta Akhmadaliev era también superior gracias a fluidos uppercuts y ganchos sucedidos por buenas acciones defensivas. Así, Ríos quedó frustrado y recibió nítidos golpes de poder, aunque en esta ocasión su encaje resistió mejor que otras veces y su garra le permitió seguir arrojando ofensivas, ataques que, incluso aunque no fueron demasiado eficaces, mostraron su voluntad por no desaprovechar la oportunidad.
En cualquier caso, los golpes empezaron a acumularse en Ríos y sus intentos por presionar terminaron desapareciendo, por lo que Akhmadaliev aceleró un tanto sus acciones a través de potentes combinaciones buscando la detención. Esta llegó en el duodécimo asalto, en el que primero Ríos fue dañado por un magnífico gancho al hígado a la contra y derribado tras repetidos uppercuts zurdos y posteriormente fue hostigado hasta la intervención arbitral.
Ahora que no tienen ya combates programados y que tanto Akhmadaliev como Stephen Fulton han expresado su deseo de enfrentarse para unificar todos los cinturones del peso supergallo, es el momento de que Matchroom Boxing y PBC se pongan en contacto y trabajen en la forma de hacer realidad el combate, algo que seguramente pasará por que la empresa de Hearn ceda y permita participar al uzbeko en una cartelera emitida por Showtime.

After his victory against the brave José Velásquez, the Uzbek Murodjon Akhmadaliev 11(8KO)-0 received a lot of unjustified criticism, which even completely denied his chances of reaching the undisputed number 1 in the division. However, facing a boxer with more renown than Velásquez as the strong and tenacious Ronny Ríos 33(16KO)-5(4), Akhmadaliev once again offered a dominating performance with which he neutralized his opponent before defeating him by TKO in the last round.
Akhmadaliev is simply on another level compared to Ríos, who put tenacity into the clash but was never comfortable with the monarch’s activity, variety, agility and skill. When Rios initially didn’t take the initiative, the Uzbek was able to pick his shots from range without difficulty, while when the American tried to advance on his opponent he was regularly hit by jabs from Akhmadaliev, who also landed sharp counter hooks between his constant movements in all directions.
Since the monarch rarely stopped his feet and is much faster, Ríos could not work with his characteristic combinations, and in fact when the actions reached the short distance Akhmadaliev was also superior thanks to precise uppercuts and hooks followed by good defensive actions. Thus, Ríos was frustrated and received clear power shots, although his chin resisted better than other times and his grit allowed him to continue throwing offensives, attacks that, even though were not very effective, showed his will of not missing the opportunity.
In any case, the punches began to accumulate on Rios and his attempts to put pressure ended up disappearing, so Akhmadaliev sped up his actions somewhat through powerful combinations looking for the stoppage. This came in the twelfth round, in which Ríos was first hurt by a magnificent hook to the liver and knocked down after repeated left uppercuts and was subsequently attacked at the restart until the referee concluded the bout.
Now that they no longer have fights scheduled and both Akhmadaliev and Stephen Fulton have expressed their desire to unify all the super bantamweight belts, it is time for Matchroom Boxing and PBC to get in touch and work on how to make this match a reality.
