El evento Petryakov-Denes no tuvo una remontada sólo en su combate estelar, sino que en otros dos enfrentamientos de la cartelera principal los favoritos tuvieron que lidiar con desfavorables comienzos. Uno de ellos fue el peso medio Artur “Black Lightning” Osipov 18(12KO)-5(1)-2, un boxeador cuyos malos números recientes no reflejan su grado de dificultad pero que tuvo que aplicarse para batir por KOT en el séptimo asalto a Ravshan Ergashev 6(2KO)-6(2)-1.
En enfrentamientos ante contrincantes como los exranqueados Mikalai Vesialou y Magomed Madiev (ante ambos empató), Ospiov ha demostrado que es un sólido y muy exigente adversario, pero Ergashev no estaba dispuesto a dejarse llevar a la derrota sin oponer tanta resistencia como pudiese. Por ello, el no favorito empezó con una elevada frecuencia de golpes, superando en los primeros rounds con sus combinaciones de ganchos o de gancho-uppercut a un Osipov que traba de contragolpear.
Sin embargo, poco a poco Ergashev fue pagando en cansancio el precio de su despliegue ofensivo y Osipov comenzó a escoger con más precisión y astucia sus manos, llegando con repetidos jabs, ganchos zurdos arriba y abajo y cruzados diestros. Además, en el quinto round Ergashev perdió un punto por reiteración en los cabezazos tras un contundente testarazo, por lo que Osipov recuperó el terreno perdido en las tarjetas a la vez que terminó haciéndose con el control táctico.
Aunque Osipov se estaba encaminando hacia el triunfo, su rival fue sacando salteadas arremetidas que no le permitían relajarse, si bien un directo diestro sucedido por una combinación de ganchos puso en el tapiz a Ergashev en el séptimo round. Poco después de la cuenta, el boxeador cayó a la lona nuevamente tras un gancho zurdo y un empujón. El castigado Ergashev se levantó, pero finalmente decidió volver a arrodillarse y esperar la cuenta completa del árbitro renunciando a seguir. Así, Osipov regresó a la senda del triunfo y quedó a la espera de una nueva oferta para hacer de duro test para un boxeador con aspiraciones.
Basirov ganó con facilidad
Después del combate Petryakov-Denes se produjo un duelo flotante en el que el prospecto del peso ligero Emir Basirov 5(4KO)-0 no se midió a Rofhiwa Maemu, sino al sustituto kirguiso Dastanbek Imankaziev 2(1KO)-7(5), al que venció en el segundo round.
En el arranque Imankaziev estuvo activo, pero una derecha recta le frenó antes de que un duro derechazo le llevase al tapiz. Pese a los problemas, Imankaziev alcanzó el segundo round, en el que fue perseguido por un Basirov que buscaba terminar el duelo, cosa que logró. Después de que Imankaziev perdiese un punto por agarrarse, este recibió un fuerte cruzado zurdo y fue golpeado en una esquina por ganchos de esta misma mano hasta que el tercer hombre paró el choque.

The event Petryakov-Denes didn’t had only a come from behind victory in its main event, but in two other main card bouts the favorites had to deal with difficult beginnings. One of them was middleweight Artur “Black Lightning” Osipov 18(12KO)-5(1)-2, a boxer whose bad recent numbers do not reflect his real level but who had to work hard to beat by TKO in the seventh round Ravshan Ergashev 6(2KO)-6(2)-1.
In duels against the former ranked boxers Mikalai Vesialou and Magomed Madiev (both ended in draws), Ospiov has shown that he is a solid and very tricky opponent, but Ergashev was willing to put up as much effort as he could to try to avoid defeat. For this reason, the underdog started with a high punch output, overcoming in the first rounds Osipov with his combinations of hooks or hook-uppercut.
However, little by little Ergashev was getting tired due to his agresiveness and Osipov began to choose his hands with more precision and cunning, landing repeated jabs, left hooks up and down and right hooks. In addition, in the fifth round Ergashev lost a point for repeated use of the head after a forceful headbutt, so Osipov recovered in the scorecards while he took tactical control.
Although Osipov was on his way to victory, his rival was using sporadic attacks that did not allow him to relax. However a right hand followed by a combination of hooks put Ergashev on the mat in the seventh round. Shortly after the count, the boxer fell to the canvas again after a left hook and a push. The punished Ergashev got up, but finally decided to go back to his knees and wait for the full count of the referee, renouncing to continue. Thus, Osipov returned to winning ways and now will await a new offer to be a tough test for a boxer with aspirations.
Basirov won easily
The Petryakov-Denes bout was followed by a duel in which lightweight prospect Emir Basirov 5(4KO)-0 finally did not face Rofhiwa Maemu, but the Kyrgyz substitute Dastanbek Imankaziev 2(1KO)-7(5), whom he defeated in the second round.
Imankazyev was active at the start, but a straight right hand slowed him down before a hard straight right took him to the mat. Despite the problems, Imankaziev reached the second round, in which he was chased by Basirov, who was looking to finish the duel, which he did achieve. After Imankaziev lost a point for holding, he was hit with a hard left hook and was punished in a corner until the third man stopped the fight.
