Cuando Frank Warren anunció su velada para el día 2 de julio se informó que en ella participaría el invicto Joe Joyce, si bien no se confirmó quién iba a ser su rival. Esto ahora ya se sabe, habiendo señalado la promotora que el británico se medirá al veterano rumano Christian Hammer. Joyce será abrumador favorito para imponerse a este contrincante, esperándose que posteriormente encare una pelea crucial ante un rival de nivel, que finalmente no será Joseph Parker, puesto que el neozelandés ha terminado escogiendo otra vía.
Por otro lado, el aplazado enfrentamiento entre Vergil Ortiz Jr. y Michael McKinson ya tiene una nueva fecha decidida, siendo esta el día 6 de agosto, cuando encabezará una velada emitida por DAZN desde el Dickies Arena de Fort Worth, Estados Unidos. A falta de que se complete todo el cartel, de momento se sabe que en el respaldo participará el peso superligero Alex Martin enfrentándose al veterano Henry Lundy.
Finalmente, en un día repleto de noticias casi simultáneas, se ha dado a conocer también que Matchroom Boxing ofrecerá otro evento el día 6 de agosto desde el Utilita Arena de Sheffield, Reino Unido. En él, el muy prometedor peso superligero Dalton Smith se enfrentará a su compatriota Sam O’Maison por el vacante cinturón británico. Además, en el respaldo Sandy Ryan afrontará una revancha contra Érica Farías, mientras que Johnny Fisher, Campbell Hatton y Hopey Price pelearán contra adversarios por confirmar.
