Los mejores combates del fin de semana (26-29/5/2022)

Que en las próximas jornadas sólo haya un único evento de una de las cuatro grandes promotoras mundiales no debe llevar a equívocos, dado que este fin de semana sólo será un pequeño “descanso” antes de un mes de junio que tendrá mucha actividad e incluso jornadas con múltiples solapamientos de eventos destacables. Además, de todos modos, entre este jueves y el domingo habrán varios combates a los que prestar atención.
Jueves 26 mayo
El Ford Community Center de Dearborn, Estados Unidos, acogerá una velada de Salita Promotions en la que participará el 10º WBC del peso pesado, el sueco Otto Wallin 23(14KO)-1. Éste disputará su segundo rodaje de 2022 enfrentándose al estadounidense Rydell Booker 26(13KO)-5(1)-1, una modesta piedra de toque con récord parcial 1-4-1 que no se espera que pueda generarle grandes dificultades. No obstante, Booker sólo ha sido vencido antes del límite por el temido Filip Hrgović, por lo que quizás pueda darle rounds a un Wallin que apunta a una mayúscula pelea en el último tercio del año.
En el respaldo, el peligrosísimo peso superligero uzbeko Shohjahon Ergashev 21(19KO)-0, 4º IBF y 9º WBO, intentará asestarle la primera derrota antes del límite de su carrera al exranqueado argentino Luis “Lucho” Verón 19(9KO)-3-2, que llegó a la distancia contra Elvis Rodríguez y Taras Shelestyuk.
También el jueves, en The Gallery de Johannesburgo, Sudáfrica, se producirá un campeonato nacional superpluma, en teoría emitido por ESPN Knockout, en el que se enfrentarán Sibusiso Zingange 17(4KO)-5(2)-2 y Lunga Sitemela 13(7KO)-1, boxeadores que en 2021 sufrieron derrotas en Rusia ante muy difíciles rivales: Zingange fue batido por KOT por el formidable oro olímpico Albert Batyrgaziev y Sitemela perdió por decisión ante el participante en eliminatoria WBC Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov.
Viernes 27 de mayo
El viernes, dos boxeadores de calibre afrontarán combates en el Avangard Ice Hockey Academy de Omsk, Rusia, con emisión por YouTube y Ren Tv. Uno de ellos es el ruso Aleksei Papin 13(12KO)-1, púgil fortísimo y con gran pegada, además de número 1 WBC del peso crucero, que perdió por mínima diferencia en 2019 contra el actualmente campeón mundial Ilunga Makabu. No obstante, su rival el viernes será el exretador mundial montenegrino Dilan Prasović 15(12KO)-2(2) que, llegando de rápidas derrotas antes del límite contra el monarca Lawrence Okolie y el invicto Isaac Chamberlain, difícilmente podrá aguantar mucho ante Papin.
En el respaldo, el muy complicado 3º WBO del peso semipesado Maxim Vlasov 46(26KO)-4, a quien se le robó en un mundial ante Joe Smith Jr., disputará una pelea de rodaje ante el ruso-kirguiso Dilmurod “Little Mike” Satybaldiev 12(3KO)-2, un boxeador duro pero que ha tenido poquísima actividad desde su derrota dividida ante el extop 15 Andrey Sirotkin en 2017.
Quizás, para muchos será más interesante el choque que afrontarán en la ciudad de Lublin, Polonia, el prometedor peso supermedio cubano Osleys Iglesias 5(5KO)-0 y el veterano y correoso exretador mundial Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilemba 26(10KO)-8(1)-3.
El plata nacional cubano Iglesias es un boxeador con gran carrera amateur que de momento ha arrollado a su oposición como profesional (no ha pasado del segundo asalto), por lo que en su sexta subida al ring dará un gran paso adelante enfrentándose a Chilemba en un test a su proyección y pegada. Chilemba dejó atrás su mejor momento hace mucho y llega de una amplísima derrota ante el muy prometedor Pavel Silyagin, de modo que no se puede esperar su triunfo. Pero tiene habilidades de veterano y es muy resistente, tanto que en enfrentamientos ante rivales como Kovalev, Bivol, Eleider Álvarez, etc., sólo Oleksandr Gvozdyk logró vencerle antes del límite. Así, si Iglesias le derrotá por knockout dará todo un golpe en la mesa.
Al margen de estos eventos, el viernes se pueden mencionar estos otros:
-En el Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta de Nuevo Vallarta, México, ESPN Knockout televisará una velada en la que el joven y enrachado peso wélter Rodolfo “Sinaloita” Orozco 30(22KO)-2-3, sin derrotas en sus últimos 16 combates, se enfrentará a un peligroso rival como Isaías “Bestia Jr.” Lucero 13(8KO)-0, encarando ambos quizás la pelea de más calado hasta la fecha en sus carreras. En el respaldo, el exretador mundial supermosca Jonathan “Titán” Rodríguez 23(16KO)-2 disputará un rodaje contra Jorge Sánchez Zárate 6(6KO)-3(1)-2.
-En el Microestadio Municipal de Hurlingham, Argentina, TyC Sports retransmitirá un campeonato argentino del peso wélter en el que el titular Juan Hernán Leal 15(4KO)-2 pondrá en juego su título ante un púgil menos experimentado pero con mucha más pegada como el invicto José “Sansón” Rosa 13(11KO)-0, que afrontará su mayor test hasta la fecha.
-En el PalaCasoria de Casoria, Italia, tendrá lugar otro campeonato nacional, en este caso del peso ligero, puesto que el campeón Fateh Benkorichi 11(2KO)-1-1 expondrá su cinturón ante Gianluca Picardi 10(2KO)-1.
-En el Auditorio Blackberry de Ciudad de México, México, y emitido en principio por Estrella Tv, se producirá una pugna del peso ligero en la que Adrián “Gallero” Pacheco 9(5KO)-4-1, pese a su mala racha (llega de dos derrotas, pero divididas y ante rivales complicados), parece favorito ante Jonathan Ramírez Casas 9(7KO)-3(2).
-En el Magna Centre de Rotherham, Reino Unido, se desarrollará una buena pelea de ámbito regional entre el titular Central Area del peso welter Dom “Hurricane” Hunt 9(1KO)-0 y el aspirante Lewis “2 Smooth” Booth 13(0KO)-0.
Sábado 28 de mayo
El evento que más miradas atraerá en este fin de semana será el que estará encabezado por el combate del peso ligero entre Gervonta “Tank” Davis y Rolando “Rolly” Romero, existiendo la posibilidad de que el ganador logre acceder a un combate contra el ganador del Kambosos-Haney.

En el respaldo de esta velada en PPV se producirán tres peleas: un mal emparejado duelo del peso medio entre Erislandy Lara y Gary O’Sullivan, un choque del peso superwélter entre Jesús “Mono” Ramos y Luke Santamaría y un combate del peso superpluma entre Eduardo Ramírez y Luis Meléndez.

Otro evento destacado del sábado será el que se producirá en el Auditorio Zonkeys de Tijuana, México, emitido por Tv Azteca, el cual estará repleto de peleas con interés. En una la veterana excampeona mundial Jackie “La Princesa Azteca” Nava 39(16KO)-4(1)-4 disputará una nueva pelea tras batir a Mariana Juárez, siendo su rival una Jasseth “Dinamita” Noriega 27(5KO)-5-2 dura y 11 años más joven pero que llega de perder un mundial de forma amplia ante Dina Thorslund. Otro de los combates será un bien emparejado combate del peso superwélter entre el pegador Jorge “Chino” García 23(19KO)-3 y Oziel “El Ruso” Santoyo 13(8KO)-2-1, quienes deberían ofrecer un duelo con buenos golpes de poder.
Además, el prometedor superligero Omar “Pollo” Aguilar 23(22KO)-0 pondrá a prueba su pegada contra el argentino Alfredo “Alfi” Blanco 22(11KO)-9, que nunca ha sido noqueado y que aguantó los diez rounds ante el peligrosísimo Alexander Besputin; los peso gallo Carlos Norberto López 17(6KO)-0-2 y César Vaca Espinoza 14(9KO)-0-1 se enfrentarán en un choque entre invictos; y el joven peso mosca Gohan Rodríguez 11(1KO)-1-1 afrontará una pelea de desarrollo ante Brian Mosinos 22(5KO)-3.
También en México, en el Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta de Nuevo Vallarta, México, televisado por Canal Space, la excampeona mundial Kenia Enríquez 23(9KO)-1 pondrá fin a más de dos años de inactividad y ascenderá desde el peso minimosca al mosca enfrentándose a la exretadora mundial Gabriela “La Bonita” Sánchez 8(0KO)-4, que ha sufrido sus derrotas recientes ante púgiles como Ibeth Zamora o Yésica Bopp.
En el respaldo, José Armando “Toro” Reséndiz 12(8KO)-1, que ha participado en veladas de PBC, tratará de regresar a la senda del triunfo ante Javier “El Rebelde” Carrera 15(12KO)-8(2).

-En el CAA Centre de Brampton, Canadá, la prometadora peso wélter Mary Spencer 4(3KO)-0 se preparará para un test ante la excampeona Chris Namús peleando contra la exretadora mundial argentina Yamila “La Maquinita” Reynoso 12(8KO)-10-3.
-En el Complexe Sportif Micheline Ostermeyer de Lille, Francia, el peso supermedio Mohamed El Achi 19(5KO)-3(2)-3 tratará de anotarse la victoria más relevante de su carrera ante el italiano Stefano Castellucci 34(11KO)-10(5), excampeón de Italia superwélter que aguantó los diez rounds ante Jack Culcay.
-En Die Bucht, Hamburgo, Alemania, se producirá una velada emitida por Bild+ en la que participarán pesos pesados conocidos como Manuel Charr 32(18KO)-4(3), Christian Hammer 26(16KO)-9(4) y Ali Eren Demirezen 15(12KO)-1, quienes serán amplios favoritos para imponerse, respectivamente, a Nikola Milacić 21(14KO)-2(1), Drazan Janjanin 22(19KO)-34(20) y Kevin Johnson 35(19KO)-18(3)-1.

Para concluir se puede mencionar que en el Arena de Lutas de Sao Paulo, Brasil, emitido por SporTv y Band Sports, el aspirante obligatorio IBF del peso medio Esquiva Falcao 29(20KO)-0 se mantendrá rodado a la espera del mundial enfrentándose al resistente argentino Cristian Fabián Ríos 23(7KO)-14(1)-3, excampeón de Argentina con experiencia como visitante ante rivales como David Lemieux y Tommy Langford.
