Por rendimiento, el campeón mundial WBO del peso mosca Junto Nakatani 23(18KO)-0 podría ser actualmente el número 1 de la división, teniendo evidentes posibilidades de triunfo en unificaciones. Esta perspectiva Nakatani la afianzó este sábado ante su compatriota Ryota Yamauchi 8(7KO)-2(1), pegador al que batió por KOT en el octavo round.
Los directos del zurdo y espigado Nakatani pusieron pronto en apuros al aspirante, que fue dañado por un izquierdazo en el primer round. El castigo del titular continuó en el siguiente asalto con uppercuts diestros y nuevos rectos de izquierda, siendo ellos acompañados por un muy eficaz control de la distancia y buenas acciones defensivas. Si Yamauchi no hubiese tenido tanto coraje podría haber caído, pero hizo todo lo que pudo por ofrecer respuesta, aunque sin evitar ser superado por la técnica del campeón.
Las combinaciones de uppercut-directo de Nakatani provocaron una inflamación en el ojo izquierdo de su oponente, acumulando el campeón la confianza suficiente como para incluso pararse a intercambiar en corta. En ese escenario Yamauchi llegó con algunos buenos hooks, especialmente al cuerpo, pero Nakatani dio un paso atrás y con entradas y salidas impactó afilados rectos que hincharon todavía más el rostro del retador. Aun así, Yamauchi aguantó hasta que en el octavo round fue desbordado por los directos y curvos zurdos de Nakatani y el árbitro decretó acertadamente el KOT.
Los objetivos de Nakatani pasan tanto por una unificación de coronas, habiendo mencionado el nombre del titular WBC Julio César Martínez, como por un ascenso al peso supermosca en este mismo año. No obstante, si Sunny Edwards y Martínez pactan un choque entre ambos próximamente como se pretende, parece que el cambio de categoría podría ser la opción que se termine materializando para Nakatani.
Yoshino ganó excelente batalla
La emisión de DAZN del evento Golovkin-Murata se inició con la victoria del imbatido Shuichiro Yoshino 15(11KO)-0 sobre el exmonarca Masayuki Ito 27(15KO)-4-1, campeonato continental OPBF del peso ligero que resultó una formidable guerra. En ella el triunfo de Yoshino llegó por decisión técnica en el undécimo round y tarjetas de doble 107-102 y un 106-103.
Ito trató de poner actividad y ritmo, pero la potencia de Yoshino era un factor muy importante, impactando sólidos derechazos que provocaron una hemorragia nasal en su rival. La pelea se fue desarrollando crecientemente intensa, con muy peligrosos cruces de golpes, algo que favoreció al pegador Yoshino, que pareció desgastar un tanto con sus puños al torso a Ito en el cuarto round. Esto implicó más intercambios y más minutos cuerpo a cuerpo, tratando entonces Ito de crear una pelea embarrada con clinches entre los que explotar su astucia.
En cualquier caso, con agarres y sin ellos, ambos siguieron ofreciendo durísimos intercambios en corta, contraponiéndose la pegada de Yoshino y la frecuencia de Ito, que padeció un corte en el párpado izquierdo en el octavo round. En el siguiente asalto la brecha fue a peor a causa de un cabezazo e Ito además fue estremecido por los golpes de poder de Yoshino. Así, en la batalla de desgaste fue el excampeón mundial el que terminó cediendo, por lo que Yoshino pudo presionar más con sus derechazos, ganchos zurdos y uppercuts para terminar asegurándose la victoria en los últimos asaltos antes de que un choque de cabezas precediese a la lectura de cartulinas en el undécimo round.

Taking into account his performances, the WBO flyweight world champion Junto Nakatani 23(18KO)-0 could perfectly be considered the number 1 in the division, having obvious chances of winning in unifications. Nakatani strengthened this perspective on Saturday against his compatriot Ryota Yamauchi 8(7KO)-2(1), puncher whom he beat by TKO in the eight round.
The straight punches from the tall southpaw Nakatani soon put the challenger in trouble, as Yamauchi was hurt by a left hand in the first round. The punishment continued in the next round with right uppercuts and new left hands by Nakatani, shots which were accompanied by a very effective distance control and good defensive actions. If Yamauchi hadn’t had such courage he might have fallen, but he did his best to answer, although without avoiding being outskilled by the champion.
The combinations of straight-uppercut of Nakatani caused his opponent’s left eye to swell, building up the champion enough confidence to even stop to exchange at close range. In that scenario Yamauchi landed some good hooks, especially to the body, but Nakatani took a step back and, coming in and out, hit his rival with sharp straights that swelled the challenger’s face even more. Even so, Yamauchi resisted until in the eighth round he was overwhelmed by Nakatani’s straight lefts and right hooks and the referee correctly stopped the fight.
Nakatani’s goals are a unification of crowns, having mentioned the name of WBC titleholder Julio César Martínez, or a move up to super flyweight in this year. However, if Sunny Edwards and Martínez agree to a clash soon as it is intended, it seems that the change of division could be the option that ends up materializing for Nakatani.

Thus, in the battle of attrition it was the former world champion who ended up getting the worst of it, so Yoshino was able to press more with his right hands, left hooks and uppercuts to end up securing victory in the last rounds before a clash of heads preceded the judges’ verdict in the eleventh round.
