El cartel de MTK Global de este viernes, que ha padecido algunas modificaciones (la pugna de Nina Hughes ha sido cancelada), ya se ha puesto en marcha, y lo ha hecho con victorias de tres prospectos de la compañía. Uno de ellos ha sido el peso superwélter irlandés Paul Ryan 3(2KO)-0, bronce mundial y plata europeo que se deshizo de CJ Wood 3(1KO)-2(1)-2 por KOT en el primer asalto.
En unos segundos Ryan dañó con un perfecto golpe al torso a Wood, al que castigó con hooks a la cabeza hasta que el árbitro realizó una cuenta. Posteriormente Ryan siguió atacando con enorme peligro y explosividad, pero sin descuidarse ni desordenarse, hasta que Wood fue derribado tras una nueva agresiva andanada de curvos. Wood se levantó de esa caída, pero el tercer hombre consideró que, dada la desigualdad entre ambos, lo mejor era detener el combate.
Este duelo fue precedido por el triunfo del invicto británico, tres veces oro inglés, George Mitchell 2(1KO)-0 en una pelea del peso medio ante el ruso Vasif Mamedov 2(0KO)-9(1)-2, a quien derrotó a los puntos (40-36).
Entrando y saliendo, ambos boxeadores se midieron al comienzo, pero fue Mitchell, con ventaja en altura, alcance y velocidad, quien se llevó la mejor parte. Más allá de sus afilados jabs, el local conectó peligrosos derechazos y ganchos zurdos que redujeron pronto el ritmo de Mamedov. El ruso intentó conectar sus hooks en corta, pero en líneas generales fue neutralizado por el creciente control táctico de Mitchell, que terminó utilizando su precisión con los rectos para establecer un claro dominio y castigar a su contrincante.
La emisión comenzó con la cuarta victoria profesional del prospecto, tres veces oro nacional como amateur, Jordan Flynn 4(0KO)-0, que batió a los puntos (59-55, juez-árbitro) al rumano residente en España Marian Marius Istrate 3(0KO)-12 en un encuentro del peso ligero.
Flynn comenzó intentando fijar a su rival con el jab y atacarle con combinaciones de hooks al cuerpo, pero en varias de sus ofensivas se desordenó, algo que le supuso ser estremecido por un gancho zurdo de Istrate en el segundo round. Como reacción a esto, Flynn intensificó sus acciones, legales e ilegales (dio varios golpes bajos) en el tercer asalto, aunque nuevamente con bastante descontrol, antes de que desde el cuarto round tratase de boxear con más espacios, calma y golpes escogidos. Aun así, y aunque impuso sus rectos y ciertos curvos para agrandar su ventaja, volvió a tener desajustes defensivos y cerró el combate con arriesgados e intensos ataques.

This Friday’s MTK Global bill, which has suffered some modifications (Nina Hughes fight has been cancelled), has already started, and it has done so with victories by three prospects of the company. One of them has been Irish super welterweight Paul Ryan 3(2KO)-0, world bronze medalist and European silver medalist who got rid of CJ Wood 3(1KO)-2(1)-2 by TKO in the first round.
In a few seconds Ryan hurt Wood with a perfect punch to the body. Then the undefeated punished with hooks to the head until the referee made a count. After it Ryan continued to attack with great danger and explosiveness, but without being careless, until Wood was knocked down with a new aggressive combination of hooks. Wood stood up, but the referee considered that, with such difference between the two of them, it was best to stop the fight.
This duel was preceded by the victory of the undefeated British, three-time English gold, George Mitchell 3(1KO)-0 in a middleweight fight against the Russian Vasif Mamedov 2(0KO)-10(1)-2, whom he defeated on points (40-36).
Moving in and out, both fighters measured his rival at the beginning, but it was Mitchell, with height, reach and speed advantages, who had more success. Adding to his sharp jabs, the local landed dangerous right hands and left hooks that soon slowed Mamedov’s pace. The Russian attempted to connect his hooks at close range, but was neutralized by the increasing tactical control of Mitchel, who ended up using his precision with straight punches to establish a clear dominance and punish his opponent.
The broadcast began with the fourth professional victory of the prospect, three times national gold as an amateur, Jordan Flynn 4(0KO)-0, who beat the Romanian resident in Spain Marian Marius Istrate 3(0KO)-12 on points (59-55) in a lightweight match.
Flynn started out trying to use his jab and then threw combinations of hooks to the body, but on several of his attacks he lost order and even was shook in the second round by a left hook from Istrate. As a reaction to this, Flynn intensified his actions, legal and illegal (he landed several low blows) in the third round, again with some lack of control, before deciding from the fourth round to try to box with more distance and calmness. Even so, and although he used his straight punches and certain hooks to increase his advantage, he again had defensive mistakes and closed the fight with some intense and risky attacks.
