Thammanoon Niyomtrong y Erick Rosa alcanzan acuerdo para disputar su aplazado campeonato mundial

Después de que el campeonato mundial Thammanoon Niyomtrong vs. Erick Rosa fuese cancelado en su primera fecha en extrañas circunstancias, la WBA dictaminó que ambos equipos eran responsables por lo sucedido. En otras palabras, esto seguramente significa que el organismo consideró tanto que el equipo del tailandés había ocultado información (de forma involuntaria o voluntaria) como que el equipo del dominicano no había trabajado de la forma adecuada para obtener la información que necesitaba.
Junto a este dictamen, la WBA anuló la anterior subasta (ganada por el equipo del tailandés) y fijó fecha para una nueva, aunque esta ha terminado siendo cancelada, puesto que Niyomtrong y Rosa han alcanzado un acuerdo.
A esto ha contribuido el hecho de que en la arriba citada resolución la Asociación también aclaraba que no iba a permitir que el campeonato se produjese en Tailandia o República Dominicana. Así, los dos equipos han tenido que buscar una solución alternativa, que pasaba de forma evidente por organizar la pugna en Estados Unidos. En este sentido se habla de que el choque podría ser parte de una velada de PBC que podría desarrollarse hacia mediados de año.
Sea como sea, y a falta de que ambos envíen los contratos firmados (algo que tendrán que hacer antes del 3 de abril), resulta tremendamente positivo que uno de los mejores combates posibles en el peso mínimo actual se haya salvado cuando la situación pintaba mal, y que encima lo haya hecho con la colaboración de la WBA, que ha operado en este asunto de manera correcta y diligente.

After the world minimumweight championship Thammanoon Niyomtrong vs. Erick Rosa was canceled on its first date under strange circumstances, the WBA ruled that both teams were responsible for what happened. In other words, this surely means that the organization considered that the Thai team had withheld information (involuntarily or voluntarily) and that the Dominican team had not worked adequately to obtain the information they needed.
Along with this resolution, the WBA canceled the previous purse bid (won by the Thai team) and set a date for a new one, although this has ended up being canceled, as Niyomtrong and Rosa have reached an agreement.
To this good ending has contributed the fact that in the aforementioned ruling the Association also clarified that it was not going to allow the championship to take place in Thailand or the Dominican Republic. Thus, the two teams have had to find an alternative solution, that obviously involved organizing it in the United States. In this sense, there is talk that the clash could be part of a PBC evening that could take place around the middle of the year.
Be that as it may, and while we wait for both teams sending the signed contracts (something they will have to do before April 3), it is tremendously positive that one of the best possible fights at the current minimumweight division has been saved when the situation looked bad, and that it has been saved with the collaboration of the WBA, which has worked correctly and diligently in this matter.
