Demasiado joven. Es rápido, yo soy rápido. Es fuerte, yo soy fuerte. Es un olímpico, yo soy olímpico. Mi margen es mi experiencia. Voy a utilizarla”.

Top Rank has officially confirmed which two bouts will support the WBC lightweight eliminator Shakur Stevenson vs. Shuichiro Yoshino on April 8 at the Prudential Center in Newark, United States. These will be the heavyweight clash Jared Anderson vs. George Arias and the lightweight fight Keyshawn Davis vs. Anthony Yigit.

“Big Baby” Anderson will face his biggest test to date taking on an unbeaten fighter on a good run like the Dominican Arias, who defeated the American Cassius Chaney. However, due to his size, characteristics and weak points, Arias will be clear underdog, especially considering that his last performance was not convincing.

Regarding Davis, this will be an even wider favorite against Yigit, a boxer who is going from bad to worse in his career, who seemed really intimidated in his loss to Rolando Romero in July 2021 and who since then has only scored a couple of easy wins doing “knockout tourism” in Colombia. Still, it’s fair to say that Yigit has been selected as a replacement for Emmanuel Tagoe, best known for surviving twelve rounds against Ryan Garcia.

In the official announcement, Anderson stated:

“This is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for, a big fight between two undefeated heavyweights. I’m excited to once again be fighting on the same card as Shakur Stevenson. Don’t miss this fight. April 8 is going to a special night in Newark.”

For his part, Arias intends to shock the world:

“I’m excited for the opportunity to go to war with Jared Anderson, one of the most highly regarded heavyweights right now. I thank my team for helping me get to this position. I can’t wait to show my skills on such a big platform. On April 8, I will pull off the upset.”

As for Davis, he wants to use the fight to make another statement:

“The Newark fans showed me so much love last time, and I can’t wait to give them another special performance. I’m going to make Yigit regret taking this fight. He’s been in the ring with some good fighters, but I’m on another level.”

Lastly, Yigit not only considers that he has the same virtues as Davis, but he even believes that he has advantages:

“I’m excited to get back into the mix. Huge respect to Keyshawn for taking this fight, but he’s young. Too young. He’s fast, I’m fast. He’s strong, I’m strong. He’s an Olympian, I’m an Olympian. My edge is my experience. I’m going to use it.”
