Artem Dalakian afrontará una de sus más exigentes defensas ante David Jiménez respaldando al Beterbiev-Yarde

El reinado del ucraniano, campeón mundial WBA del peso mosca, Artem Dalakian ha sido uno de los peores y más intrascendentes del boxeo mundial durante los cerca de cinco años que se ha prolongado ya. En esto ha jugado un papel decisivo una nefasta selección de aspirantes obligatorios por parte de la Asociación, que básicamente ha elegido deliberadamente a boxeadores sin posibilidades de ganar a un púgil de élite. Con todo, esto cambiará para su próxima defensa.
Y es que ha sido confirmado oficialmente que Dalakian se enfrentará al bronce mundial amateur costarricense David “Medallita” Jiménez, quien viene de ganar una eliminatoria ante el peligroso Ricardo Sandoval. Es justo señalar que el triunfo de Jiménez fue bastante controvertido, habiendo motivos suficientes para considerar que Sandoval mereció el triunfo.
Aun así, la pelea fue en general contendida y Sandoval visitó la lona en una ocasión, hechos que de por sí hacen de Jiménez un retador infinitamente superior a la mayoría de los que Dalakian ha hecho frente hasta ahora.
El duelo Dalakian-Jiménez se desarrollará el día 28 de enero en el Wembley Arena de Londres, Reino Unido, es decir, como respaldo del mundial WBC-IBF-WBO del peso semipesado Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde. Así que esta cartelera ha visto todavía más aumentado su interés con este anuncio, si bien todavía no se conocen los oponentes de Willy Hutchinson y Karol Itauma, que también combatirán en el respaldo.

The reign of the Ukrainian, WBA world flyweight champion, Artem Dalakian has been one of the worst and most inconsequential in world boxing for nearly five years. An awful selection of mandatory challengers by the Association has been key in this, since the sanctioning body basically has deliberately chosen fighters with no chance of beating an elite boxer. However, this will change for Dalakian’s next defense.
It has been officially confirmed that Dalakian will face Costa Rican world bronze medalist David «Medallita» Jiménez, who comes from winning an eliminator against the dangerous Ricardo Sandoval. It is fair to point out that Jiménez’s victory was quite controversial, and there are sufficient reasons to consider that Sandoval deserved the win.
Still, the fight was generally close and Sandoval was knocked down once, facts that make Jimenez an infinitely superior challenger than most of the boxers Dalakian has faced thus far.
The Dalakian-Jiménez bout will take place on January 28 at the Wembley Arena in London, United Kingdom, that is, as a support for the WBC-IBF-WBO world light heavyweight championship Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde. So this card has seen its interest increased even more with this announcement, although the opponents of Willy Hutchinson and Karol Itauma, who will also fight in the undercard, are not yet known.
