Fortunately, for the sake of boxing from multiple points of view, WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will ultimately not fight Mahmoud Charr. In any case, on December 3, at Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium in Tottenham, United Kingdom, Fury will face an absurd fight in which he will be the overwhelming favorite. That is because he will face Derek Chisora, whom he has already defeated very clearly on two occasions and who is currently worryingly punished and has serious stamina issues, gasping for air after a few minutes of bout.

As for the co-feature, this will also be a matchup less bad than anticipated, as young heavyweight Daniel Dubois will not be fighting battered veteran Lucas Browne [who was not approved by the BBBofC], but instead will face a fighter fresher and boxistically more complex as Kevin Lerena. In any case, Lerena shares with Browne that they both tested positive in a doping test, something that makes Dubois’s selection of an opponent another one quite peculiar: strangely, many teams do not care that their boxers battle doped opponents that could harm them…

In the official announcement of the event, promoter Frank Warren said:

“I am thrilled to be delivering a Tyson Fury world title defense in front of the British fans in London. Tyson clearly conquered America across his trilogy with Deontay Wilder and there is also huge demand to stage his fights from sites across the world. Tyson wanted to fight in his home country again this year following his special night at Wembley Stadium in April. This brings us to the magnificent Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a match against an old rival in Derek Chisora.”

Warren also stated:

“Derek, also a big favorite with British fans, has reinvented himself in recent years and Tyson has long stated his wish to fight him for a third time. Tyson can’t afford any slip-up in this fight as he has the much-publicized undisputed match-up with Usyk in the New Year which we’re really looking forward to”.

Regarding the co-main event, the leader of Queensberry Promotions affirmed:

«I am also delighted that we have added Daniel Dubois to the card with a first defense of his WBA belt against Kevin Lerena. It makes it a real heavyweight night, and Daniel represents the best of the new generation coming through.»

For his part, Bob Arum, Fury’s co-promoter, offered these statements:

“Whenever Tyson Fury fights, it is a major event, and I expect him to once again put on a spectacular show for the fans. There are talks about what’s next for Tyson, but the first order of business is a battle against an extraordinarily tough fighter in Derek Chisora.»
