Entre dos sábados muy ajetreados (el 15 y el 29 de octubre), la semana del sábado 22 contará con muchos menos combates de nivel. De todos modos, con unos pocos carteles destacables y con pugnas interesantes, más veladas por YouTube el jueves y el viernes, sobrará para mantenernos entretenidos sin desgastarnos demasiado antes de un cierre de mes intenso.
Jueves 20 de octubre
Después de unas semanas de inactividad, la serie de eventos de Golden Boy Promotions ofrecidos gratuitamente a través de YouTube retornará con otro jueves de boxeo más desde el Fantasy Springs Casino de Indio, Estados Unidos.
En esta ocasión el combate estelar estará protagonizado por el reciente fichaje de la compañía Floyd Schofield 11(9KO)-0, joven boxeador estadounidense de extensa carrera amateur que algunos señalan como muy prometedor. Por lo tanto, en principio Schofield no debería tener problemas para vencer un duelo del peso ligero ante el veterano mexicano Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas 22(14KO)-5(4)-1, que dejó atrás su mejor momento hace una década, que asciende de división y que no boxea desde hace 15 meses, cuando fue noqueado en dos rounds por un púgil sin gran pegada como Lamont Roach.
En el respaldo, entre otros combates, se producirá la aplazada pelea del peso minimosca entre la excampeona mundial mexicana del peso mínimo Anabel “Avispa” Ortiz 32(4KO)-5(1) y la exretadora mundial guatemalteca María Micheo Santizo 10(6KO)-1(1). Además, el peso wélter mexicano Ángel Beltrán Villa 14(9KO)-1(1) debutará en Estados Unidos midiéndose al local Rance Ward 7(2KO)-4-1.
Por otro lado, en el Korakuen Hall de Tokio, Japón, el 12º IBF del peso gallo Seiya Tsutsumi 6(5KO)-0-2 expondrá por primera vez su cinturón nacional japonés ante Kenshin Oshima 7(3KO)-2-1. Este retador perdió su último combate por ajustada decisión técnica ante Kyosuke Sawada, precisamente el boxeador que Tsutsumi noqueó para coronarse campeón de Japón.
En el respaldo, el peso mosca Jukiya Iimura 3(1KO)-0 continuará con su arriesgado avance como profesional encarando en su cuarto combate una pelea ante el fogueado y competente filipino Esneth Domingo 16(8KO)-2, que en su carrera sólo ha perdido dos ajustadas decisiones.
Viernes 21 de octubre
Pasando al viernes, otra serie que regresa es ShoBox: The New Generation, que ofrecerá una velada emitida por Showtime desde el Bally’s Atlantic City de Atlantic City, Estados Unidos. El choque estelar iba a ser un duelo entre el prometedor peso semipesado Ali Izmailov y el exretador mundial Radivoje Kalajdzic, pero este fue cancelado por enfermedad del primero.
Así, la velada será encabezada por un choque del peso supermedio entre el invicto estadounidense Isaiah Steen 16(12KO)-0 y el ghanés Sena Agbeko 26(21KO)-2(1), que ha accedido al evento como reemplazo tardío y que entrará a la pelea por detrás en las apuestas habiendo perdido ampliamente (ante Vladimir Shishkin) en su anterior aparición en un evento de ShoBox. La velada contará también con el combate del peso superwélter entre el invicto Marlon Harrington 8(7KO)-0 y el intrincado Marquis Taylor 12(1KO)-1-2 y una pugna del peso pesado entre Moses Johnson 8(7KO)-0-1 y el mexicano Elvis García 12(9KO)-0.
Otro evento que se producirá en Estados Unidos será el emitido por Thompson Boxing a través de YouTube desde el DoubleTree Hotel de Ontario. En él, el peso superpluma George Acosta 13(1KO)-1, que sólo ha sido derrotado por el invicto Rubén “Ace” Torres, tratará de extender su racha victoriosa tras su triunfo ante Isaac Avelar y comparar su rendimiento al de Jousce González midiéndose al ecuatoriano José Angulo 14(7KO)-3(1), que ha ofrecido actuaciones dispares en sus visitas a Estados Unidos.
El viernes tendrá también estos otros combates:
-En el Club Estudiantes de Bahia Blanca, Argentina, TyC Sports emitirá un campeonato sudamericano por el vacante cinto del semipesado en el que Jairo Ariel Rayman 17(8KO)-2-1 afrontará la mayor pelea de su carrera hasta la fecha ante Sebastian Horacio Papeschi 18(6KO)-4(2) que ha padecido sus derrotas ante rivales del nivel de Meiirim Nursultanov, Marcelo Cóceres y William Scull.
-En el Palais des Expositions de Perpiñán, Francia, el titular francés del peso medio Moughit El Moutaouakil 18(10KO)-2-2 expondrá su título ante el exposeedor de esa misma corona Diego Natchoo 23(6KO)-3-5.
-En el Marriot Hotel Cité Internationale de Lyon, Francia, la prospecta de buena carrera amateur Delphine Mancini 5(0KO)-0 expondrá por primera vez su corona europea del peso gallo ante Mailys Gangloff 6(2KO)-3, quien muchos vieron derrotar a Ebanie Bridges pese al veredicto final.
-En Guasave, México, el invicto Leobardo López 15(10KO)-0 buscará seguir acercándose a las listas mundiales enfrentándose en el peso mínimo a Juan Diego Tadeo 12(5KO)-4.
-En Ciudad Obregón, México, el joven peso ligero Brayan Zamarripa 12(4KO)-1 disputará su primer combate a diez rounds ante José Vega 14(6KO)-3(1).
Sábado 22 de octubre
El sábado será el momento para una velada de Matchroom Boxing y DAZN desde México, en la cual el peligroso peso pluma Mauricio Lara se enfrentará a un bravo oponente como José Sanmartín. En el semifondo, Ángel Fierro intentará recobrar impulso enfrentándose a Jeremy Cuevas. Previa del evento siguiendo el enlace.
Por otro lado, pasando a Alemania, Wasserman organizará una velada desde el Fabriksporthalle de Frankfurt que contará con un muy interesante combate del peso semipesado.
Y es que el invicto local Leon Bunn 18(9KO)-0 y el irlandés Padraig “The Hammer” McCrory 14(8KO)-0 se enfrentarán en una pugna que será la mayor que ambos han disputado hasta la fecha en sus carreras, y que además le servirá al ganador para apuntar a grandes objetivos internacionales. Teniendo ciertas cualidades, peleando en casa y siendo uno de los pocos púgiles relevantes de Wasserman en el boxeo alemán, Bunn podría ser un rival difícil de batir, especialmente por decisión. No obstante, aunque McCrory asciende de división, éste está mostrando una tremenda pegada y una gran capacidad de definición, elementos que quizás puedan resultar vitales en este duelo.
También en Alemania, en el LEO’s Boxgym de Munich, se producirá una pelea del peso supermedio bien emparejada. En ella un Emre Çukur 19(3KO)-1 que tiene poca experiencia de calidad, triunfos controvertidos y una derrota ante Davide Faracie se medirá al excampeón de Europa Hadillah Mohoumadi 23(16KO)-6(1)-1, púgil que, aunque no está lejos del retiro, tiene mayor nivel general y que el pasado marzo volvió al ring con una buena actuación como visitante en Polonia (perdió con polémica por decisión dividida). Así, no es descartable que, si todavía tiene algo de boxeo en sus guantes, Mohoumadi pueda generar notables dificultades a Çukur o incluso se anote el triunfo.
Además de dichos enfrentamientos, el sábado ofrecerá estos otros:
-En el Club Comunicaciones de Buenos Aires, Argentina, emitido por Canal 9, el olímpico, 6º WBA del peso minimosca, Leandro “Musculito” Blanc 6(3KO)-0 tratará de seguir subiendo escalones capturando el vacante cinturón de Sudamérica ante Mauro Nicolás “Sapito” Liendro 7(4KO)-8(3).
-En el Sportska Dvorana de Zabok, Croacia, las excampeonas mundiales Ivana Habazin 20(7KO)-4(1) y Diana Prazak 14(9KO)-4(1) pelearán por situarse rozando el mundial WBC del peso wélter.
-En Świeradów-Zdrój, Polonia, emitido por TVP Sport, el peso ligero Damian Wrzesinski 25(7KO)-2-2 buscará llevar a cuatro su racha de triunfos ante el letón Artjoms Ramlavs 15(8KO)-1, que sólo ha sido derrotado por Archie Sharp.
-En el Memorial Hall de Kansas City, Estados Unidos, el peso pesado James McKenzie Morrison 20(18KO)-0-2 empezará a explotar su triunfo ante Hasim Rahman Jr. peleando contra la piedra de toque Robert Simms 11(3KO)-3-1.

Between two very busy Saturdays (October 15 and 29), the week of the Saturday 22 will feature few high level matches. In any case, with some mentionable events and interesting fights, plus evenings broadcast on YouTube on Thursday and Friday, it will be enough to keep us entertained without wearing ourselves out too much before an intense month end.
Thursday, October 20
After a few weeks of inactivity, the series of events offered for free on YouTube by Golden Boy Promotions will return with yet another Thursday of boxing from the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, United States.
On this occasion, the main fight will have as a protagonist the recent signing of the company Floyd Schofield 11(9KO)-0, a young American boxer with an extensive amateur career that some consider very promising.
