The final result of the fight, Deontay Wilder’s 43(42KO)-2(2)-1 knockout victory, was what everyone expected, but the ending of his clash against Robert Helenius 31(20KO)-4(3) came sooner than predicted: in the first round Wilder was already able to find one of his famous right hands to achieve victory for the first time since his two losses to Tyson Fury.

Helenius chased his opponent, who tried his luck with his right hand, as usual, throwing it in an unorthodox manner. In his advance Helenius had several times the opportunity to have jumped into a clinch and grappled with his opponent if he had wanted to, but he rejected his only remote chance of success. Thus, he continued trying to press until in one of his slow attacks, this time aiming at the body, he missed his hands and found himself open and slightly crouched, which Wilder took advantage of to connect a right straight hand that, despite not flying a long distance, knocked out cold Helenius.

Theoretically, the plan is for Wilder and Andy Ruiz to clash in a WBC heavyweight final eliminator, a fight that according to some rumors is already signed. In the event that this bout does not materialize, Wilder will have plenty of potential opponents, since despite the danger of his punch, any self-respecting top 15 feels that he can exploit his huge flaws and beat him. In addition, the peculiar balance between his threat level and his weak points will undoubtedly once again attract the eyes of many fans eager to see how he or his opponent ends up knocked out.
