Leigh Wood vs. Mauricio Lara postponed, avoiding clash with the bout Joyce-Parker

We have seen this countless times: when two important evenings coincide on the same day, the one that has generated less expectation and has sold less tickets ends up suffering an «unforeseen event» that leads to the cancellation or postponement, at least, of the main fight. Well, this has happened once more this Tuesday, since it was first reported by Chris McKenna that the clash between Leigh Wood and Mauricio Lara has been postponed due to an injury by the former.

Obviously this «injury» is just an excuse to prevent this important fight for Matchroom Boxing that was going to take place in Nottingham, United Kingdom, from being overshadowed by competing on September 24 with a much more interesting event that will take place about 120 km (80 miles) away. It must be remembered that on the same day Frank Warren will offer in Manchester a bill headlined by the heavyweight fight Joe Joyce vs. Joseph Parker, which will also be supported by the participation, among others, of Amanda Serrano.

In short, the duel Wood-Lara now points to a tentative date at the end of this year, while the rest of the Matchroom card on September 24 will still go ahead, although it will be an event of secondary importance with the bouts Maxi Hughes vs. Kid Galahad and Hannah Rankin vs. Terri Harper being the two main matches. So, if someone was hesitating between watching the Joyce-Parker card or the Wood-Lara card, now the choice will be much easier.
