La frase de la semana: Andre Ward siente orgullo en lugar de vergüenza
Dos de los enfrentamientos más importantes y relevantes en la historia reciente del peso semipesado fueron los dos choques entre Sergey Kovalev y Andre Ward, ambos terminados de forma favorable para el segundo pero con enorme controversia. En el primero de los combates, hubo un gran consenso en que se le había robado atrozmente la victoria a Kovalev, mientras que en el segundo se produjeron los famosos golpes ilegalmente bajos de Ward, algunos de los cuales llevaron al KOT decretado por Tony Weeks.
Sin embargo, aunque Ward, que ahora trabaja como propagandista para ESPN/Top Rank, debería sentir vergüenza por lo que son dos de las páginas más oscuras en peleas titulares del peso semipesado en el siglo XXI, o al menos debería evitar mencionar estos combates, el estadounidense afirma (quizás sobrecompensando) que está muy satisfecho por esos “logros”, considerándolos los mayores de su carrera:
“Mi actuación más completa fue en el Kovalev II, pero de la que estoy más orgulloso fue probablemente la del Kovalev I”

In the first of the bouts, there was consensus considering that Kovalev had been blatantly robbed of victory, while in the second Ward used his famous illegal low blows, some of them leading to a TKO ruled by Tony Weeks.
Yet while Ward, who now works as a propagandist for ESPN/Top Rank, should be ashamed of what are two of the darkest pages of the light heavyweight title fights in the 21st century, or at least should avoid talking about these bouts, the American states (perhaps overcompensating) that he is very satisfied with these “achievements”, considering them the biggest in his career:
“My most complete performance was Kovalev II, but my proudest was probably Kovalev I.”
