El prospecto del peso pesado, y bronce mundial amateur, Justis Huni sumó su sexto triunfo como profesional derrotando a Joseph Goodall por decisión unánime. Con ello, Huni capturó el cinturón OPBF. En el respaldo Andrei Mikhailovich batió en tres rounds a Ernesto España.

Unas horas más tarde, el peso wélter Vitaly Petryakov mostró paciencia en su remontada ante Brendon Denes, que tuvo un boxeo dinámico de cierta eficacia antes de ser batido por KOT en el octavo round.

El peligroso peso gallo Saúl “The Beast” Sánchez estaba en el mejor momento de su trayectoria profesional, pero Eros Correa logró soportar la agresividad inicial de su oponente e imponer su astucia y técnica para lograr una importante victoria por decisión dividida. Respecto a la campeona mundial WBC del peso gallo Yuliahn “Cobrita” Luna 24(4KO)-3-1, ésta retuvo su corona con una victoria por decisión unánime ante Jéssica “La Magnífica” González 8(1KO)-6-2. Puede que este sea uno de los tres mayores triunfos de la carrera de Luna, aunque en una era en la que el boxeo femenino está viviendo constantes unificaciones, la monarca necesitará mucho más para despuntar, especialmente reinado en una categoría con campeonas como Dina Thorslund y Jamie Mitchell.
Finalmente en cuanto al viernes, el pegador brasileño Jonhatan “Maximus” Cardoso 14(14KO)-1(1) sufrió todo un revés a sus aspiraciones a manos del olímpico panameño Juan Huertas 16(12KO)-3(2)-1, que le derrotó en el primer round. Así, Huertas obtuvo el mayor triunfo de su carrera, capturó un título menor que podría darle acceso al top 15 WBO del peso ligero y seguramente recibirá alguna importante oferta en el futuro próximo.
En cuanto al resto de duelos del cartel, se cumplió lo esperado: el peso supermosca Luis Concepción 40(29KO-9(4) retornó a la senda del triunfo batiendo por KOT en el noveno round a Juan López 15(14KO)-10(4)-1, y el olímpico estadounidense Darrelle Valsaint 4(3KO)-0 derrotó por KO en el primer round al costarricense Encarnación Díaz 12(7KO)-2(2).

El pegador Artur Beterbiev unificó los cinturones mundiales WBC, IBF y WBO del peso semipesado con una excelente victoria en dos rounds sobre Joe Smith Jr., resultado que permitirá al ruso escalar puestos en el top 10 libra por libra.

Lo lógico sería que Beterbiev pelease ahora con Bivol por la corona indiscutida, pero seguramente el primero tendrá que enfrentarse a continuación a Anthony Yarde.

En cuanto al choque co-estelar del evento Beterbiev-Smith el peso pluma Robeisy Ramírez noqueó en el quinto round al invicto Abraham Nova, dando un paso crucial en la lucha hacia el mundial.

Por otro lado, el cinturón de campeona WBO del peso mosca cambió de manos, ya que Tamara Demarco 10(0KO)-5(2) fue derrotada por KOT en el séptimo asalto a manos de Gabriela Alaniz 13(5KO)-0. Además de obtener el mayor éxito de su carrera, la posesión de un cinturón mundial podría llevar a Alaniz a una unificación en una división en la que Marlen Esparza pretende convertirse en titular indiscutida.
Respecto al duelo del peso supergallo entre Jack Bateson 17(4KO)-0 y Diego Alberto “El Profeta” Ruiz 23(12KO)-5(1)-1, el primero fue quien se impuso por decisión unánime de los jueces (98-92, 98-93 y 97-93). De ese modo Bateson empezó con buen pie su nuevo acuerdo con Probellum, que en los próximos doce meses debería llevarle a recibir oportunidades para escalar en el ranking y prepararse para un combate decisivo.
En el respaldo del Bateson-Ruiz, el peso superligero Ohara Davies 24(17KO)-2(1), que teóricamente debería pelear a continuación en una eliminatoria con Sandor Martín, derrotó a Abdessamad Nechchad por KOT en el octavo round, mientras que el aspirante obligatorio WBO del peso superpluma Archie Sharp 22(9KO)-0 venció por decisión unánime (99-91, 98-92 y 98-93) un rodaje ante Alex Rat 14(5KO)-5(1)-2.

-El peso superligero belga Jessy Petit Jean 18(8KO)-0 puso fin a su inactividad con una victoria sobre Irakli Kurasbediani 12(1KO)-3, si bien el triunfo del boxeador local fue sólo por ajustada decisión mayoritaria (95-95, 96-94 y 97-95).

Heavyweight prospect, and world amateur bronze medalist, Justis Huni obtained his sixth professional win by defeating Joseph Goodall by unanimous decision. As for the co-main event of the Beterbiev-Smith event, featherweight Robeisy Ramírez knocked out undefeated Abraham Nova in the fifth round, taking a very significant step forward in the fight to reach a world championship. Read more following the link.
The WBO word female flyweight belt was lost by Tamara Demarco 10(0KO)-5(2), who was defeated by TKO in the seventh round in a fight against Gabriela Alaniz 13(5KO)-0. In addition to obtaining the greatest success of her career, the possession of a world belt could make Alaniz access to a unification in a division in which Marlen Esparza intends to become the undisputed champion.
