Según Frank Warren y Bob Arum, Artur Beterbiev peleará a continuación contra Anthony Yarde

En una era en la que parece que las unificaciones se suceden con muchísima más frecuencia que en la pasada década, y llegando ambos de victorias significativas, nada tendría más sentido que Artur Beterbiev y Dmitriy Bivol combatiesen a finales del año para unificar todos los títulos del peso semipesado. Sin embargo, según el promotor de Beterbiev, Bob Arum, y el aliado británico de éste, Frank Warren, el ruso peleará a continuación contra Anthony Yarde.
La idea es que el enfrentamiento se produzca en Reino Unido hacia el mes de octubre, algo que los promotores consideran ya casi un hecho. Por un lado, Arum quiere mostrar su lealtad con su amigo Warren dándole una oportunidad mundialista como local a Yarde, un boxeador de su escuadra. Por el otro, debido a la buena relación entre la WBO y Warren, Yarde está clasificado como número 1 de este organismo y se espera que en los próximos meses se emita igualmente la orden de defensa obligatoria.
En cuanto a Bivol, Eddie Hearn señaló semanas atrás que su principal deseo era que se midiese a Joshua Buatsi en una defensa voluntaria hacia otoño [hemisferio norte]. En el caso de que este duelo no se pudiese pactar, Hearn tiene otras opciones, destacando entre ellas el excampeón del peso supermedio Callum Smith. Es cierto que Hearn no descartó la unificación con Beterbiev, si bien pareció dejarla en un segundo plano respecto a su plan de un choque Bivol-Buatsi. Por último, se espera que la WBA no tarde mucho en emitir una orden de defensa obligatoria para Bivol ante el extitular Gilberto Ramírez.
Así, aunque realmente Beterbiev y Bivol sólo quieren enfrentarse el uno contra el otro para hacer historia, sus promotores parece que van a llevarles por otros caminos, decisión muy diferente a la que tomaron respecto a otros boxeadores de sus compañías.

In an era in which it seems that unification matches are happening much more frequently than in the past decade, and with both boxers coming from significant victories, nothing would make more sense than Artur Beterbiev and Dmitriy Bivol fighting at the end of the year to unify all the titles of the light heavyweight division. However, according to Beterbiev’s promoter, Bob Arum, and his British ally Frank Warren, the Russian will next face Anthony Yarde.
The idea is for the bout to take place in the United Kingdom around the month of October, something that the promoters consider almost certain. On the one hand, Arum wants to show his loyalty to his friend Warren by giving a world title opportunity as a local to Yarde, a boxer from his stable. On the other hand, due to the good relationship between the WBO and Warren, Yarde is ranked number 1 by this organization and it is expected that the mandatory defense will be ordered in the coming months.
As for Bivol, Eddie Hearn said weeks ago that his main wish was for him to face Joshua Buatsi in a voluntary defense this fall [northern hemisphere]. In the event that this duel could not be agreed, Hearn has other options, including former super middleweight champion Callum Smith. It is true that Hearn did not rule out the unification with Beterbiev, although he seemed to put it on the back burner, having as a priority his plan for a Bivol-Buatsi clash. Lastly, it should not take long for the WBA to issue a mandatory defense order for Bivol to face former titleholder Gilberto Ramirez.
Thus, although Beterbiev and Bivol really only want to face each other to make history, their promoters seem to be taking them to other paths, a decision very different from the ones they made regarding other boxers from their companies.
