Por dos veces habían peleado Ijaz “Jazzy” Ahmed 10(1KO)-2-2 y Quaise Khademi 8(2KO)-1-2 el uno contra el otro sin lograr zanjar su competencia, completándose finalmente una trilogía entre ambos en la noche del sábado. Este tercer choque, que de nuevo estuvo muy contendido, terminó otra vez con un empate, así que el vacante cinturón británico del peso supermosca permaneció sin dueño. Las puntuaciones de los jueces fueron de 115-112 para Ahmed, de 114-113 para Khademi y un 114-114.
En el encuentro se contrapusieron los estilos de ambos contendientes, ya que Ahmed trató de presionar e impactar golpes de poder desde la distancia media-corta y Khademi se desplazó ágil buscando contragolpear el avance de su contrincante. En algunos momentos el decidido Ahmed llegó con nítidos directos diestros y ganchos zurdos que sacudieron la cabeza de su rival, mientras que en otros el rápido desplazamiento de Khademi se vio acompañado de muy certeros contragolpes en cruzado de mano adelantada, uppercut diestro y directo.
De todos modos, pese a la igualdad general, Ahmed estaba atacando con más regularidad y estaba ofreciendo una mayor cadencia de golpeo, así que su insistencia a menudo le sirvió para decantar las acciones en la primera mitad por encima de las aisladas contras de Khademi. Además, los puños de Ahmed parecían llevar más potencia y solían ser más significativos, especialmente al sorprender a veces a su rival con las manos descendidas.
Con todo, posteriormente Khademi tuvo buenos resultados con sus oportunas contras y su defensa, encadenando asaltos tras la mitad, pero el árbitro le restó un punto decisivo por reiteración en los agarres en el noveno episodio. Este campeonato británico fue precedido por una nueva victoria del prospecto superligero Eithan “Jammy” James 9(0KO)-0, que en su tercer combate a ocho rounds derrotó por puntos (juez-árbitro 80-72) a Lee Connelly 8(0KO)-78(8)-6.
El zurdo James dominó las acciones en todo momento y distancia, sacando largos uno-dos, secos jabs, hooks al torso tras amagar con golpear al rostro, cruzados de ambas manos, uppercuts enlazados con gancho, etc. Connelly eventualmente intentó tomar la iniciativa, pero James evitó sus volados y volvió a avanzar firme sobre sus golpes, con los que enrojeció el rostro de su contrincante. “Jammy” trató de trabajar en la distancia media y en corta con constancia buscando generar daños determinantes, pero pese a las dificultades Connelly soportó el castigo y llegó a la decisión.

Ijaz “Jazzy” Ahmed 10(1KO)-2-2 and Quaise Khademi 8(2KO)-1-2 had fought twice against each other without being able to settle their contention, and finally they completed a trilogy on Saturday night. This third match, again very contested, ended in a new draw, so the vacant British super flyweight belt remained without an owner. The judges’ scores were 115-112 for Ahmed, 114-113 for Khademi and 114-114.
The fight was an evident clash of styles, since Ahmed tried to put pressure and land power shots from the mid-close distance and Khademi moved agile looking to counterpunch. At times the determined Ahmed connected crisp straight right hands and left hooks that shook his rival’s head, while at others Khademi’s quick movement was accompanied by very accurate lead hooks, right uppercuts and straight shots.
However, despite it was an even duel, Ahmed was attacking more regularly and was having a higher punching rate, so his insistence often served him to win rounds over Khademi’s isolated counters on the first half. In addition, Ahmed’s punches seemed to carry more power and tended to be more significant, especially when he sometimes surprised his opponent with lowered hands.
Nevertheless, latter Khademi had good results with his opportune counters and his defense, winning a few consecutive rounds after the half point, but the referee deducted him a point in the ninth round for his repeated clinching. For this reason, although Khademi put a lot of effort in the last rounds to be as effective as possible and make his opponent miss hands while hitting him clearly, finally both were unable to secure the triumph.

This British championship was preceded by a new victory for super lightweight prospect Eithan “Jammy” James 9(0KO)-0, who in his third eight-round fight defeated Lee Connelly 8(0KO)-78(8)-6 on points (judge-referee 80-72).
The southpaw James dominated the actions at all times and distances, throwing long one-twos, sharp jabs, hooks to the torso after feinting, hooks to the head with both hands, hook-uppercut combinations, etc. Connelly eventually tried to take the initiative, but James avoided his overhands and resumed his pressure, reddening his opponent’s face. “Jammy” tried to work consistently at mid-range and at close range looking to generate decisive damage, but despite the difficulties Connelly resisted the punishment and reached the decision.
