Teóricamente el evento iba a contar con un combate entre Anthony Cacace y Jonathan Romero, pero la pelea fue inesperadamente sacada de la cartelera pocos días antes, provocando un gran enfado al primero. En sustitución de dicho duelo entró en el cartel el campeonato británico y de la Commonwealth del peso wélter entre Ekow Essuman 17(7KO)-0 y Darren Tetley 21(9KO)-3(1), quienes estaban emplazados a encabezar otra velada. Sea como sea, en el choque Essuman retuvo su título con una decisión unánime y puntuaciones de 117-111 y doble 116-112.
La cuestión clave en el enfrentamiento era si Tetley iba a poder evitar una pelea con alta exigencia física, ya que Essuman es un púgil con gran resistencia al desgaste. Pero los púgiles cayeron en no pocos forcejeos entre clinches y en general Essuman no encontró mucho impedimento para pelear desde la distancia media e imponer su superior ritmo. El zurdo Tetley sacó contras oportunas con sus directos, pero no tenía el juego de piernas o la explosividad para aprovechar a su favor decisivamente el avance de su contrincante o para revertirlo de manera consistente.
En el quinto episodio Essuman movió a su adversario con sus hooks, siendo esta una primera advertencia del cansancio que Tetley iba a padecer de manera creciente en los siguientes rounds. Sin embargo, aunque no le sobraban energías al retador, éste hizo todo lo que pudo para replicar en corta o lanzar contraofensivas ante un Essuman que igualmente le superó con su alta cadencia de puños. El persistente trabajo del campeón no terminó traduciéndose ni en un knockout ni en un knockdown, ni siquiera cuando sacó una tensa andanada en el undécimo asalto, pero sí le garantizó una clara victoria unánime.
Ball logró su mayor victoria
El equipo de Nick Ball 15(8KO)-0 estaba convencido de que no le iba a venir grande su reto ante el experimentado Isaac Lowe 21(6KO)-2(2)-3, algo que sobre el ring se confirmó. Y es que Ball se anotó la mayor victoria de su carrera derribando y venciendo por KOT en el sexto episodio a Lowe.
En un inicio Lowe llegó con algún directo preciso aprovechando su ventaja en altura y en velocidad, pero terminó situándose demasiado cerca de su fuerte y motivado rival, un Ball que primeramente le estremeció y posteriormente le derribó en el segundo asalto con un gancho zurdo. En los siguientes minutos Ball siguió castigando con sus golpes de poder, pareciendo que Lowe necesitaba poner espacios, pero contrariamente éste decidió presionar y atacar buscando cruces de golpes cuerpo a cuerpo.
Sin duda, Lowe le puso voluntad y esfuerzo, ya que lidió con un serio corte por choque de cabezas y conectó algunas buenas combinaciones de ganchos entre tenaces ofensivas. No obstante, Ball siguió llegando con puños muy peligrosos a la contra antes de que (tras quedar su rival girado por un empujón) en el sexto asalto impactase varios hooks zurdos que dañaron a Lowe a la vez que el árbitro paraba el combate y volaba la toalla.

Theoretically, the event was going to feature a bout between Anthony Cacace and Jonathan Romero, but the fight was unexpectedly pulled from the card a few days earlier, this causing great anger to Cacace. Replacing that duel, entered the bill the British and Commonwealth welterweight championship between Ekow Essuman 17(7KO)-0 and Darren Tetley 21(9KO)-3(1), who were set to headline another event. Be that as it may, in the clash Essuman retained his title with a unanimous decision and scorecards of 117-111 and double 116-112.
The key question in the match was whether Tetley was going to be able to avoid a physically demanding fight, as Essuman is a boxer with great stamina. But the fighters fell into many clinches and in general Essuman did not find much impediment to fight from the middle distance and impose his superior pace. The southpaw Tetley hit the titlist with some well timed counters, but he didn’t have the footwork or the explosiveness to decisively exploit his opponent’s advance to his advantage or consistently reverse it.
In the fifth round, Essuman staggered his opponent a bit with his hooks, this being a first warning of the increasing tiredness that Tetley was going to suffer in the following minutes. However, although the challenger did not have a lot of energy, he did everything he could to answer in close range or launch counter-offensives against Essuman, who still was the superior boxer with his high punching rate. The champion’s persistent work didn’t end up in a knockout or a knockdown, even when he unleashed a good flurry in the eleventh round, but it did guaranteed him a clear unanimous victory.
Ball achieved his greatest victory
The team of Nick Ball 15(8KO)-0 was convinced that his challenge against the experienced Isaac Lowe 21 (6KO)-2(2)-3 was not going to be too difficult for him, something that was confirmed in the ring. Ball obtained the biggest victory of his career knocking down once and beating Lowe by TKO in the sixth round.
Initially Lowe landed some precise straight punches taking advantage of his height and speed, but he ended up getting too close to his strong and motivated rival, so Ball first shook him and latter dropped him in the second round with a left hook. In the following minutes Ball continued to punish with his power shots, and thus it seemed that Lowe needed to put distance, but instead he decided to press and attack looking for hard exchanges.
Lowe certainly put a lot of will and effort, as he dealt with a serious cut from a clash of heads and connected some good hook combinations between tenacious offensives. However, Ball continued landing very dangerous counter punches before in the sixth round (when his opponent turned due to a push) he connected several left hooks that hurt Lowe, the referee stopping then the fight while the towel flew in.
