El peso pesado británico Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher 5(4KO)-0 superó en parte su test en el semifondo del Jacobs-Ryder, ya que logró vencer, en su quinta pugna profesional, al fogueado español Gabriel Enguema 10(6KO)-12(4). Aun así, Fisher necesitó consumir todos los asaltos por primera vez en su carrera y tuvo exigentes asaltos de trabajo, no siendo su triunfo nada impresionante o convincente. La puntuación del juez-árbitro fue de 59-55.
En poco más de un minuto Fisher padeció un corte en su ojo izquierdo por choque de cabezas, si bien igualmente sacó fortísimos derechazos buscando derribar a su contrincante. Enguema encajó bien y evitó algunas manos muy peligrosas agachándose un poco, pero los explosivos puños de Fisher le daban los asaltos y eran una amenaza latente que el visitante no podía equiparar con su jab y sus curvos en corta.
No obstante, Enguema, a diferencia de otros oponentes de Fisher, no se arrugó ante la potencia de su rival, mantuvo el terreno y buscó oportunidades para impactar astutos puños, no poniéndole las cosas fáciles al local, que desde la mitad se desplazó y trató de sorprender con manos aisladas pero con dispares éxitos y notable imprecisión. De hecho, en el quinto round Enguema pareció tener mejores resultados que su adversario y Fisher cerró la pugna bastante conservador y poco activo en el sexto episodio.
Cash cayó dos veces a la lona pero venció
La excelente racha de victorias del peso medio británico Felix Cash 15(10KO)-0 se ha alargado un combate más y podría aparecer en el top 10 de los cuatro organismos en próximas actualizaciones. Sin embargo, no fue nada fácil el choque contra el ruso, hasta ahora invicto, Magomed Madiev 15(4KO)-1-2, que le derribó en dos ocasiones pese a terminar derrotado de forma unánime. Las puntuaciones fueron de justo doble 95-92 y un 94-93.
Después de un comienzo del duelo activo pero táctico, Cash fue derribado en el segundo asalto por un cruzado zurdo de Madiev, quien llevó a su rival cerca del KOT con andanadas de golpes sin respuesta. No obstante, Cash se rehizo, uso su jab y posteriormente empezó a sacar potentes combinaciones de ganchos arriba y abajo contra un Madiev que igualmente respondió con dureza con sus curvos en los intercambios.
De todos modos, aunque era una pelea disputada e intensa, Madiev volvió a padecer una de sus características bajadas de ritmo, por lo que Cash usó su ventaja en frecuencia de golpeo para remontar en las tarjetas, resultando muy importante su habitual jab y sus cortas combinaciones. El ruso aprovechaba los cruces para sacar hábiles y precisos contragolpes, pero su trabajo resultó mucho más esporádico que el de Cash, que con constancia con el jab e insistencia con sus series de curvos logró la justa victoria. Con todo, esta no llegó sin que antes el local fuese derribado por un directo en el último episodio y perdiese un punto por sus excesivos agarres.

British heavyweight Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher 5(4KO)-0 partially passed his test in the Jacobs-Ryder co-feature, since he managed to beat, in his fifth professional fight, the tough Spanish Gabriel Enguema 10(6KO)-12(4). Still, Fisher needed to consume all the rounds for the first time in his career and had demanding minutes of work, his win not being impressive or convincing. The judge-referee’s scorecard was 59-55.
In just over a minute, Fisher suffered a cut on his left eye due to a clash of heads, although he also landed hard right hands looking to knock down his opponent. Enguema resisted the punches well and avoided some of them by ducking, but Fisher’s explosive shots gave him the rounds and were a latent threat that the visitor couldn’t match with his jab and short hooks.
However, Enguema, unlike other opponents of Fisher, did not shrink in front the power of his rival, kept the center of the ring and looked for opportunities to hit with cunning punches, not making things easy for the local, who moved and tried to surprise with sporadic hands but with inaccuracy. In fact, in the fifth round Enguema seemed to have better results than his opponent and Fisher closed the fight without risking and quite inactive with his punches in the sixth round.
Cash was knocked down twice but won
The excellent winning streak of British middleweight Felix Cash 15(10KO)-0 has been extended by one more fight and he could appear soon in the top 10 of all four organizations. However, it was not an easy match against the undefeated Russian Magomed Madiev 15(4KO)-1-2, who knocked him down twice despite his defeat by unanimous decision. The scores were fair: 95-92, 95-92 y 94-93.
After an active but tactical start of the duel, Cash was dropped in the second round by a left hook from Madiev, who brought his opponent close to the TKO with an unanswered combination of punches. However, Cash recovered, stablished his jab and subsequently began to throw powerful combinations of hooks up and down against Madiev, who also responded hard in the exchanges.
In any case, although it was a close and intense fight, Madiev suffered again one of his characteristic slowdowns, so Cash used his advantage in punching frequency to rally on the cards. In the reaction of the British boxer was very important his usual jab and his short combinations at close range. The Russian took advantage of the exchanges to land skillful and precise counterattacks, but his work was much more sporadic than that of Cash who, with perseverance with the jab at long range and insistence with his combinations in mid-close range, achieved the deserved victory. However, his triumph came after he was knocked down by a straight punch in the last round and lost a point for his excessive holding.
