Todo se está alineando para disipar la posibilidad de una tercera pelea entre Román “Chocolatito” González y Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, y resulta difícil que todo ello haya sido casual. Primeramente un supuesto positivo en PCR de Estrada le obligó a retirarse de la pelea contra Chocolatito a finales de enero, entrando como remplazo inmediatamente y sin a penas fase de negociaciones Julio César Martínez, que supone un peligro evidente para el estilo del nicaragüense.
Pues bien, unas dos semanas han transcurrido hasta que Estrada, que se recuperó una vez anunciado el Chocolatito-Martínez, ha recibido la orden para enfrentarse al aspirante obligatorio WBA del peso supermosca, el estadounidense Joshua Franco, con quien tendrá hasta el 11 de marzo para alcanzar un acuerdo o encaminarse a una subasta.
Como el Estrada-Franco es parte del proceso de reducción de campeones WBA, de la pugna al menos sacaremos algo positivo. Con todo, Franco partirá en las apuestas muy por detrás de Estrada cuando se concrete el duelo, llegando de tres resultados controvertidos (dos victorias y un No Decision) ante un Andrew Moloney que no parece estar al nivel de la élite.
Asimismo, dado que tienen hasta marzo para alcanzar un acuerdo, el duelo podría llegar a pactarse para mayo o incluso junio, de modo que la tercera pelea entre Chocolatito y Estrada, un enfrentamiento histórico en la división, se aplazaría para el último tercio del año, si es que por el camino no surge un obstáculo que termine por suprimir su viabilidad o su interés.

Everything is being aligned to block the possibility of a third fight between Roman “Chocolatito” González and Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, and it is difficult to believe that all happened by coincidence. Firstly, an alleged positive in PCR test by Estrada forced him to withdraw from the fight against Chocolatito at the end of January, immediately entering as a replacement with hardly any negotiation phase Julio César Martínez, who poses an obvious danger to the Nicaraguan’s style.
About two weeks have passed until Estrada, who recovered once the Chocolatito-Martínez was announced, has received the order to face the mandatory WBA super flyweight contender, the American Joshua Franco, with whom he will have until March 11 to reach a deal or head to purse bid.
As the Estrada-Franco is part of the process of reducing WBA champions, at least we will get something positive out of the fight. All in all, Franco will be the clear underdog against Estrada, as he comes from three controversial results (two wins and one No Decision) against Andrew Moloney, who does not seem to be at the level of the elite.
Also, since they have until March to reach an agreement, the duel could be agreed for May or even June, so that the third fight between Chocolatito and Estrada, a historic clash in the division, would be postponed for the third quarter of the year, that is if an obstacle does not arise along the way that ends up suppressing its viability or its interest.
