Una semana más habrá una gran concentración de veladas el sábado, coincidiendo a una misma hora eventos de PBC, Golden Boy y Top Rank, mientras que en el viernes habrá poco que destacar. Así, el deseo de las promotoras de contraprogramarse las unas a las otras perjudicará tanto a los aficionados como a las propias compañías. No obstante, no se puede decir que no habrá donde elegir.
Viernes 8 de abril
Por cantidad de combates y boxeadores de nivel participantes, el evento más destacado del viernes será el que Shuan Boxing ofrecerá desde el Pabellón de Esgrima del Centro Olímpico de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, que además será emitido a través de YouTube.
En el choque estelar pugnará el exretador mundial local Norbelto “Meneito” Jiménez 30(16KO)-9(4)-6, boxeador que llega de un muy controvertido empate ante el monarca en múltiples divisiones Donnie Nietes (la promotora Probellum recortó el número de asaltos para beneficiar a Nietes). Para recuperarse de esta mala experiencia, Jiménez se medirá a un boxeador que asegura trabajo como el duro nicaragüense Keyvin Lara 31(11KO)-4(1)-1, que ha ofrecido exigentes peleas a Kazuto Ioka y a los ranqueados Yanga Sigqibo y Keiver Fernández.
En el respaldo, el puertorriqueño, 9º WBO del peso mínimo, René “Chulo” Santiago 9(7KO)-2 se medirá al joven mexicano Yudel “El Guerrerito” Reyes 13(4KO)-1 tratando de mejorar su posicionamiento en el ranking WBO. Además, el excampeón mundial puertorriqueño del peso mínimo Wilfredo “Bimbito” Méndez 16(6KO)-2(1) combatirá en su primer duelo desde que en diciembre fue destronado por Masataka Taniguchi, siendo su rival uno teóricamente sencillo para su nivel, el venezolano Kenny Cano 14(11KO)-4(3).
Por otro lado, también destaca el evento que se producirá en el Palais du Littoral de Grande-Synthe, Francia, cartel en el que se pueden mencionar tres combates. Uno será un bien emparejado campeonato francés del peso crucero en el que el resistente titular Eddy Lacrosse 13(6KO)-7-2 afrontará una difícil defensa ante el exposeedor de su corona, y exretador a los cinturones europeo y UE, Dylan Bregeon 11(3KO)-2-1. En otro el pegador superwélter Milan Prat 14(11KO)-0, que ha vencido sus dos últimos combates en el primer round, tratará de sumar un nuevo knockout ante el mexicano José Ángel “Chaneke” Flores 9(2KO)-5(2)-2. El restante será un campeonato de Europa femenino por el vacante cinto del peso superwélter entre la local Priscilla Peterle 4(2KO)-0 y la sueca Marianne Ahlborg 5(1KO)-0, duelo que aproximará hacia una importante pugna a la ganadora.
Por lo demás, no hay demasiado que sobresalga en la jornada:
-En el Auditorio Zonkeys de Tijuana, México, emitido por Fite, el enrachado peso superwélter mexicano Damián “Samurai” Sosa 19(10KO)-1, 15º WBO, tratará de escalar posiciones en el ranking peleando por un título menor ante un Jesus Andrés “Ingeniero” Vega 22(13KO)-2(2)-1 que ha perdido por KOT sus dos mayores combates hasta la fecha.
-En Middelburg, Sudáfrica, el campeón de Sudáfrica del peso ligero, el veterano Tshifhiwa Munyai 34(20KO)-6(3)-1, tratará de defender por tercera vez su corona ante el extitular sudafricano superpluma Aphiwe Mboyiya 17(8KO)-4(1)-1.
-En el Winter Gardens de Blackpool, Reino Unido, el peso superpluma Reece Mould 14(6KO)-1(1), que padeció su única derrota ante Leigh Wood, afrontará un rodaje ante el ghanés Patrick Okine 20(17KO)-4(2)-2.
Sábado 9 de abril
Este sábado tendrá lugar una unificación de cinturones mundiales en el peso medio, puesto que el campeón IBF, el kazajo Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin, y el campeón WBA, el japonés Ryota Murata, se enfrentarán en un interesante y potencialmente entretenido choque del que saldrá el número 1 de la categoría. En el respaldo expondrá su corona el excelente campeón WBO del peso mosca Junto Nakatani.

Otro evento con mucha calidad media será el organizado por Premier Boxing Champions y protagonizado por choques del peso superwélter. El combate estelar será una eliminatoria, con título interino en juego, entre el hábil Erickson Lubin y el gigante Sebastián Fundora, mientras que en el semifondo pelearán el exmonarca mundial Tony Harrison y el excampeón europeo Sergio García. Además el mexicano Kevin Salgado afrontará una prueba de fuego ante Bryant Perrella.

Hacia la misma hora se producirá también una velada de DAZN que verá el retorno al ring del peso ligero Ryan García, quien se enfrentará al ghanés Emmanuel Tagoe. Acompañando a este combate destaca la unificación de coronas del peso mosca Marlen Esparza vs. Naoko Fujioka y el duelo del peso supermedio “King” Gabriel Rosado vs. Shane Mosley Jr.

Las carteleras de PBC y Golden Boy se solaparán además con el evento de Top Rank en el que la monarca unificada superpluma Mikaela Mayer expondrá sus títulos ante la excampeona Jennifer Han. En el respaldo participarán el peso wélter Giovani Santillán, el peso supermosca Andrew Moloney, etc.

El Esparza-Fujioka y el Mayer-Han no serán los únicos campeonatos mundiales femeninos de la jornada, ya que tendrán lugar otros dos. Uno de ellos se disputará en el Gran Arena Monticello de San Francisco de Mostazal, Chile, entre la aspirante local Daniela “La Leona” Asenjo 11(2KO)-3-2 y la mexicana, campeona WBA del peso supermosca, Maribel “Pantera” Ramírez 13(3KO)-9(4)-2. La titular Ramírez es una púgil que tras haber sido piedra de toque de rivales de nivel durante años entró en la mejor racha de su carrera, encadenando sus dos mayores victorias (Linda Lecca y Aniya Seki) como visitante. Con todo, no boxea desde 2018 y la local Asenjo seguramente lo dará todo en este primer mundial de su carrera, por lo que debería ser un choque contendido e interesante.
El otro mundial femenino será en Dinamarca, en concreto en Graakjaer Arena de Holstebro, y en él la titular WBO del peso gallo Dina Thorslund 17(7KO)-0 realizará ya la sexta puesta en juego de su corona, siendo su adversaria la venezolana Niorkis Carreño 22(17KO)-2. La retadora tuvo una meritoria actuación en el pasado ante la monarca del peso mínimo Tina Rupprecht, si bien posteriormente fue derrotada en el peso mosca con mucha amplitud por Débora Anahí López. Así, ascendiendo al peso gallo para medirse a una campeona en gran estado y con amplias victorias en todas sus defensas, la local Thorslund será clara favorita para vencer.
Otro evento destacado será el que Promociones Zanfer organizará en el Centro de Espectáculos del Recinto Ferial de Metepec, México, televisado por Tv Azteca, ya que en él tendrá lugar una eliminatoria WBC del peso mosca. En ella se enfrentarán la invicta promesa Ángel Ayala 13(6KO)-0 y el excampeón mundial Cristofer Rosales 32(21KO)-5(1), siendo este un muy interesante combate que elegirá a un aspirante obligatorio de Julio César Martínez. Dado que Rosales pareció dejar atrás su mejor momento con sus derrotas ante Charlie Edwards y el propio Martínez, muchos no confían en que pueda lograr batir como visitante a la promesa Ayala, pero éste último nunca se ha medido a un rival del top, por lo que también hay una cierta incógnita respecto a cuál será su rendimiento en esta gran prueba de fuego.
En el respaldo, el invicto prospecto supergallo Alan Picasso 20(9KO)-0-1 seguirá acumulando experiencia ante el resistente David Reyes 24(12KO)-7(1)-1, y Rashib Martínez 18(7KO)-2 tratará de lograr una de sus su victorias más significativas peleando en el peso gallo contra Victor de Jesus Albino 14(5KO)-1(1).
En la jornada también se puede mencionar el combate que el pegador italiano del peso superpluma Michael Magnesi afrontará contra el duro mexicano Dennis Contreras, pelea que será emitida por Eurosport.

Antes de terminar, se deben destacar estos otros choques:
-Desde el Allianz Cloud de Milán, Italia, teóricamente emitido por YouTube, se producirá un campeonato de la Unión Europea del peso gallo entre el titular local Alessio Lorusso 16(5KO)-4-2 y el español Jacob Barreto 13(5KO)-4(3), que llega de perder en el segundo asalto contra el excampeón mundial Charlie Edwards.
-En Rizal, Filipinas, con emisión por YouTube, ArAr Andales 13(5KO)-2(1), 12º WBO del peso mínimo, tratará de escalar posiciones en las listas enfrentándose a su peligroso compatriota Joey Canoy 17(9KO)-5(2)-1.
-En el Rivers Casino and Resort de Schenectady, Estados Unidos, se producirá un bien emparejado choque del peso crucero entre el italiano Simone Federici 18(8KO)-2-1 y el ucraniano Lyubomyr Pinchuk 14(8KO)-2-1.

One more week there will be a great concentration of evenings on Saturday, coinciding at the same time events from PBC, Golden Boy and Top Rank, while on Friday there will be little to highlight. Thus, the desire of the promoters to counterprogram each other will harm both the fans and the companies themselves.
Friday, April 8
Due to the number of fights and the level of the boxers participating, the most outstanding event on Friday will be the one that Shuan Boxing will offer from the Pabellón de Esgrima del Centro Olímpico de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, which will be broadcast on YouTube.
In the main clash, former world challenger Norbelto «Meneito» Jiménez 30(16KO)-9(4)-6 will have his first fight since his very controversial draw against the monarch in multiple divisions Donnie Nietes (Probellum reduced the number of rounds to benefit Nietes). This Saturday a unification of world middleweight belts will take place, since the IBF champion, the Kazakh Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin, and the WBA champion, the Japanese Ryota Murata, will face each other in an interesting and potentially entertaining clash from which will come out the number 1 in the division. Another event with high quality will be the one organized by Premier Boxing Champions, card which will feature three super welterweight clashes. The main event will be an eliminator, with an interim title at stake, between the skillful Erickson Lubin and the giant Sebastián Fundora, while former world champion Tony Harrison and former European champion Sergio García will fight in the co-feature. The duels Esparza-Fujioka and Mayer-Han will not be the only female world championships on the day, as two more will take place.
