David Morrell apunta a Benavídez. Declaraciones de los protagonistas del respaldo del Davis-García

El peso supermedio cubano David Morrell está entusiasmado por la idea de participar en el segundo combate en importancia en el evento Davis-García, y piensa aprovechar la oportunidad para hacer una declaración de intenciones antes de encarar un choque ante David Benavídez:
“Estoy muy emocionado por ser combate coestelar del evento en esta increíble noche para el boxeo. “Tank” Davis es una de las mayores superestrellas del deporte y mi aspiración es algún día estar en el Monte Rushmore del boxeo al lado de él. El 22 de abril voy a deshacerme de mi oponente de forma sensacional. Y después de ese combate quiero al “Monstruo Mexicano” David Benavídez, pero primero tengo que superar a un duro y muy capaz oponente como Agbeko. Pretendo encargarme de mis asuntos el 22 de abril y luego espero enfrentarme a David Benavídez en un combate que los fans quieren ver”.
Su rival, el ghanés Sena Agbeko destacó también lo importante que es para él participar en este evento y luchar por un título, si bien el cinturón al que se refiere es el absurdo cinto WBA regular:
“Estoy muy agradecido a mi equipo entero por esta increíble oportunidad por pelear por el título. Este es un duro test contra uno de los mejores peso supermedio en el mundo en el combate coestelar de la mayor pelea del año. Esta es una oportunidad que me gusta mucho y es exactamente como imaginaba ganar el cinturón. He tenido un largo viaje para llegar a este punto, pero siempre he entrenado como un tío con un objetivo en la espalda. Quiero ganar el cinturón y ser el peleador tras el cual va todo el mundo. Tengo un gran equipo detrás de mí y no puedo esperar para presentarme adecuadamente al mundo del boxeo el 22 de abril”.
Pasando al choque entre Bektemir Melikuziev y Gabriel Rosado, el primero ve este encuentro como una oportunidad de oro para redimirse:
“Este es el combate que quería y el combate más importante para mí actualmente. Este es el combate para reparar mi error. Tengo tanta suerte por hacerlo en la mayor cartelera del año. Quiero darle las gracias a mi equipo, a mi promotor y, por supuesto, a Rosado por darme esta oportunidad”.
Respecto a “King” Rosado, éste esta convencido de que repetirá su éxito una vez más:
“Fue duro que se cancelase el combate contra Zurdo [Gilberto Ramírez], pero ahora es yo contra Bek en la mayor cartelera del año. Estoy concentrado y listo para poner a Bek bajo control otra vez. Estoy deseando ser parte de una cartelera histórica, y planeo dominar al “Bully” otra vez”.
Por su parte, Elijah García prometió una gran pelea ante Kevin Salgado:
“Estoy encantado por ser parte de este gran evento en pago por visión y estoy emocionado por la oportunidad. Después de mi último combate, he estado en el gimnasio esperando el momento para mostrar mis habilidades otra vez. Planeo ofrecer una gran actuación contra Salgado el 22 de abril. El combate estelar es un gran combate y “Tank” es una bestia, y Ryan está invicto y es talentoso y será un reto duro. Pero aseguraos de que no os perdéis mi combate, porque va a ser una guerra mexicana para todos los fans”.
Finalmente, Kevin Salgado apunta a una victoria contra pronóstico:
“Sé que me enfrento a un buen oponente, pero estoy listo para sorprender al mundo del boxeo. Esta es una gran oportunidad para mí. Estoy agradecido por estar en esta posición y voy a aprovecharla al máximo. Me siento fuerte en el campamento de entrenamiento y estaré listo para poner a prueba a García y medir su nivel”.

Cuban super middleweight David Morrell is excited for taking part in the second major bout in the Davis-Garcia evening, and he plans to use the opportunity to make a statement before facing David Benavídez:
“I’m very excited to be the co-main event of this incredible night for boxing. “Tank” Davis is one of the sport’s biggest superstars and my aspiration is to one day be on the Mount Rushmore of boxing next to him. On April 22 I’m going to dispatch my opponent in sensational fashion. And after this fight I want the ‘Mexican Monster’ David Benavidez, but first I have to get past a tough and very capable opponent in Agbeko. I intend to take care of my business on April 22 and then look forward to taking on David Benavidez in a fight that the fans want to see.”
His opponent, the Ghanaian Sena Agbeko, also highlighted how important it is for him to participate in this card and fight for a title, although the belt he is referring to is the absurd WBA regular belt:
“I’m very thankful to my entire team for this incredible opportunity to fight for the title. This is a stern test against one of the best super middleweights in the world in the co-main event of the biggest fight of the year. This is an opportunity that I relish greatly and is exactly how I envisioned winning the belt. I’ve had a long journey to get to this point, but I’ve always trained like a guy with a target on my back. I want to win the belt and be the fighter that everyone is going after. I have a great team behind me and I can’t wait to properly introduce myself to the boxing world on April 22.”
Moving on to the clash between Bektemir Melikuziev and Gabriel Rosado, the former sees this bout as a golden opportunity to redeem himself:
“This is the fight I wanted and the most important fight for me today. This is the fight to right the wrong. I am so lucky to make it on the biggest card of the year. I want to thank my team, my promoter, and of course, Rosado, for giving me this opportunity.”
Regarding «King» Rosado, he is convinced that he will repeat his success:
“It was tough having the fight against ‘Zurdo’ [Gilberto Ramírez] canceled, but now it’s me versus Bek on the biggest fight card of the year. I’m focused and ready to put Bek back in check. I look forward to being part of a historical fight card, and I plan on dominating ‘The Bully’ once again!”
For his part, Elijah García promised a great fight against Kevin Salgado:
“I’m thrilled to be part of this major pay-per-view event and I’m excited for the opportunity. After my last fight, I’ve been in the gym waiting for the time to showcase my skills yet again. I’m planning on putting on a great performance against Salgado on April 22. The main event is a great fight and ‘Tank’ is a beast, and Ryan is undefeated and talented and will be a tough test. But make sure you don’t miss my fight, because it’s going to be a Mexican war for all of the fans.”
Finally, Kevin Salgado pretends to score an upset victory:
“I know that I’m facing a good opponent, but I’m ready to surprise the boxing world. This is a great opportunity for me. I’m grateful to be in this position and I’m coming to take full advantage of it. I’m feeling strong in training camp and I’ll be ready to test Garcia and see where he stacks up.”
