El temido peso pesado Arslanbek Makhmudov ficha por Top Rank

Después de un impactante recorrido amateur, en el que logró importantes y espectaculares knockouts, y una perfecta trayectoria como prospecto profesional con 14 victorias, todas ellas antes del límite, el potente peso pesado ruso Arslanbek Makhmudov parece prometer grandes logros en la división. Con todo, el invicto necesita un impulso crucial teniendo en cuenta que su promotora, la canadiense Eye of the Tiger Management, está padeciendo para encontrar rivales de nivel que acepten enfrentarse a él.
Esto podría cambiar ahora que Makhmudov ha firmado un contrato de copromoción de varios años de duración con la compañía Top Rank, una de las mayores promotoras del mundo que, además de no tener problemas para encontrarle oponentes, le dará la exposición internacional que necesita al emitir su pugnas a través de ESPN.
Por el momento, está confirmado que Makhmudov afrontará su siguiente combate el día 16 de septiembre en el Cabaret du Casino de Montreal, Canadá, donde se medirá al experimentado Carlos Takam en una pugna emitida por ESPN+. Posteriormente se espera que Makhmudov realice su debut en Estados Unidos en una pelea de mayor calado.
En el anuncio oficial del fichaje, Makhmudov afirmó:
“Soy afortunado por trabajar con los promotores top en el mundo. Esto representa un importante paso adelante hacia culminar mi meta de convertirme en campeón mundial.”
Por su parte, Bob Arum, líder de Top Rank, señaló:

After an impressive amateur run, in which he achieved important and spectacular knockouts, and a perfect career as a professional prospect with 14 wins, all of them by stoppage, the powerful Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov seems to promise great achievements in the division. All in all, the undefeated boxer needs a crucial boost considering that his promotional company, the Canadian Eye of the Tiger Management, is struggling to find high-level rivals that accept to face him.
This could change now that Makhmudov has signed a multi-year co-promotion deal with Top Rank, one of the world’s biggest promoters who, in addition to having no trouble finding opponents for him, will give him the international exposure he needs by broadcasting his fights through ESPN.
For now, it is confirmed that Makhmudov will face his next bout on September 16 at the Cabaret du Casino in Montreal, Canada, where he will face veteran Carlos Takam in a fight aired through ESPN+. Later, it is expected that Makhmudov will make his US debut in a bigger fight.
