Ciertamente su victoria no fuen tan espectacular como varias otras precedentes, pero igualmente en el semifondo del evento Kurbanov-Teixeira el prometedor peso supermedio Pavel Silyagin 12(5KO)-0 obtuvo un meritorio triunfo por decisión unánime sobre el duro y peligroso mexicano José de Jesús Macías 28(14KO)-11(1)-4, que venía de lograr varios buenos resultados contra pronóstico.
Durante los dos primeros rounds Silyagin estudió calmadamente a su rival con entradas y salidas y eventuales jabs, lo que permitió a Macías lanzar algunas ofensivas con hooks aislados. Sin embargo, desde el tercer asalto el local empezó a intensificar sus acciones y a arrojar más combinaciones de rectos y ganchos enlazados con derechas, lo que obligó a Macías en el cuarto round a ajustar e intentar avanzar más sobre su oponente.
Con este cambio el mexicano logró evitar que su rival le pudiese agobiar más, pero sus ofensivas tuvieron éxitos limitados y recibió peligrosos contragolpes, destacando un duro gancho a la contra que le estremeció en el sexto asalto. Así, Silyagin siguió moviéndose por el ring en variadas direcciones, esquivando, tocando con su jab y escogiendo el momento para astutos golpes de poder que, de todos modos, no le quitaron las ganas a Macías de intentar llegar con sus ganchos en corta, golpes que impactó esporádicamente. Pero aunque el visitante se esforzó y dio trabajo, el control táctico de Silyagin no se vio desbordado y pudo obtener el triunfo.
Tishchenko sumó victoria por lesión
Durante los cuatro asaltos que se prolongó el combate del peso crucero entre el oro olímpico Evgeny Tishchenko 10(7KO)-1 y Kureysh Sagov 6(2KO)-2(2), este fue un duelo competido e igualado de resultado incierto. Pero una lesión de Sagov en el cuarto episodio truncó su buena actuación y le dio el triunfo al favorito.
Tishchenko tomó la iniciativa pero no dejó volar sus manos con la suficiente frecuencia, dudando en la distancia media a pesar de que con su gran alcance estaba en posición de impactar sus manos. Así, Sagov pudo caminar el ring y buscar ocasiones para contragolpear con combinaciones de rectos o derechas aisladas. Poco a poco Tishchenko fue encontrando mejor su boxeo y empezó a tirar su uno-dos y a enlazar su jab con sus ganchos al cuerpo pero ni mucho menos había roto el encuentro cuando en el cuarto round Sagov falló una derecha y se quejó de un dolor intenso que le impidió continuar.

During the first two rounds Silyagin calmly analyzed his rival going in and out and threw occasional jabs, tactic that allowed Macías to launch some offensives with hooks. However, from the third round the local began to intensify his actions and used more combinations of straight punches and hooks linked with right hand, which forced Macías in the fourth round to adjust and try to advance more over his opponent.
With this change, the Mexican prevented his rival from overwhelming him, but his attacks had limited success and he received dangerous counterpunches, standing out a hard counter hook that rocked him in the sixth round. Thus, Silyagin continued to move around the ring in various directions, dodging, jabbing and choosing the moment for clever power shots that, however, did not discourage Macías from trying to work at short range with his hooks, hands that he connected sporadically. But although the visitor put in effort and gave work, Silyagin’s tactical control was not broken and he was able to obtain the victory.
Tishchenko scored win due to an injury
During the four rounds that lasted the cruiserweight fight between Olympic gold medalist Evgeny Tishchenko 10(7KO)-1 and Kureysh Sagov 6(2KO)-2(2), this was a competitive and even duel with an uncertain outcome. But an injury suffered by Sagov in the fourth episode cut short his good performance and gave the victory to the favorite.
Tishchenko took the initiative but didn’t throw his hands often enough, hesitating at mid-distance even though with his long reach he was in position to land his punches. Thus, Sagov was able to walk and seek for moments to counterattack with isolated right hands or combinations of straight shots. Little by little, Tishchenko deployed better his boxing and began to land his one-twos and his jab linked with hooks to the body, but he had not reached a turning point when in the fourth round Sagov missed a right hand and complained of an intense pain that prevented him from continuing.
