Los mejores combates del fin de semana (4-5/7/2025)

En un viernes inusualmente falto de combates, uno de los pocos encuentros que se pueden mencionar es el estelar de un evento en el Club Social y Cultural “El Cruce” de Malvinas Argentinas, Argentina, emitido por FOX Sports. En él, un púgil con problemas de encaje, y que ha sustentado su avance en buena parte ante rivales de récord negativo, como Lucas Ramón Argañaraz se medirá a un boxeador con seis derrotas pero nunca vencido antes del límite, y con más experiencia de calidad, como Guido Joel Romero, estando en juego el vacante cinturón de Sudamérica del peso superwélter.
Por otro lado, en la Piazza Dante de Grosseto, Italia, emitido por YouTube, el excampeón de Italia del peso superligero Stefano Ramundo buscará prepararse para una pelea importante para su trayectoria enfrentándose a Samy Khellas, que casi nunca ha sufrido una derrota amplia (además ha sufrido varias derrotas cuestionables) y que llega en la mejor racha de su carrera.
Sábado 5 de julio
El mayor evento de la semana será una macrovelada organizada en el DIVS “Uralochka” de Ekaterimburgo, Rusia, y teóricamente emitida en abierto por el YouTube ruso, VK Video. En ella participarán casi todos los nombres destacados de la promotora RCC Boxing, y además lo harán en enfrentamientos bien emparejados y que suponen pasos adelante decisivos para sus trayectorias.
Por ejemplo, el hábil e invicto peso supermedio Pavel Silyagin se medirá al también imbatido pegador argentino Pablo Ezequiel Corzo en un choque entre dos top 15 IBF-WBA que llevará al ganador a la parte alta de los rankings y a la lucha directa por una oportunidad mundialista. También tendrá consecuencias similares la eliminatoria WBA del peso superligero que disputarán otro ruso y otro argentino, ya que el destacado prospecto Khariton Agrba se medirá a Rubén Néstor Neri Muñoz.
Junto a estos se producirán otros dos choques entre clasificados mundiales, uno en el peso supergallo entre el uzbeko Mukhammad Shekhov y el argentino Rodrigo Fabián Ruiz, y otro en el peso superwélter entre el exaspirante mundial ruso Magomed Kurbanov y su compatriota Pavel Sosulin, prospecto invicto y exmiembro de la selección rusa.
Además, esta misma velada contará con otros encuentros interesantes, entre otros, el que sostendrán el imbatido peso medio ruso Vadim Tukov, 11º IBF y 12º WBA, contra el experimentado uzbeko Kudratillo Abdukakhorov, el combate entre los pesos pesados (dentro del peso puente) Evgeny Romanov y Georgiy Yunovidov o la tercera pelea profesional para el plata mundial amateur Dzhambulat Bizhamov contra el duro y competente uzbeko Ulugbek Sobirov.
Después de hablar de esta gigantesca velada, encima emitida gratuitamente, la comparativa con el cartel de DAZN en el Manchester Arena de Manchester, Reino Unido, organizado por Matchroom Boxing deja en muy mal lugar a esta última compañía, que en los últimos tiempos ha bajado de forma radical el nivel medio de sus veladas.
En el encuentro estelar, el único realmente interesante del evento, el peso superligero Jack Catterall, que llega de padecer una decisiva derrota ante Barboza, buscará reflotar un tanto enfrentándose a Harlem Eubank, que afronta con este su primer reto verdaderamente significativo en una carrera en la que ha sido protegido por su promotor a través de su elección de oponentes.
Por lo demás, el cartel contará con con el retorno del excampeón Joe Cordina (14 meses después de ser batido por Cacace) en un combate en el peso ligero en el que es abrumador favorito ante el mexicano, sin experiencia de calidad, Jaret González y con un choque en el peso superpluma entre Aqib Fiaz y el remplazo tardío de Michael Gómez Jr., el también británico Alex Murphy.
En este fin de semana, en el que, más allá del cartel ruso, hay un bajo nivel medio y un escaso número de combates, sólo se pueden mencionar estos otros duelos:
-En el Clichy Hall de Clichy, Francia, el peso superpluma Samir Ziani, que sólo ha perdido una vez desde 2014, buscará ingresar en el top 15 WBC, y poner fin a una inactividad de 15 meses, peleando por un título menor contra Khalil El Hadri.
-En el Korakuen Hall de Tokyo, Japón, el prospecto del peso pluma Kenji Fujita, 4º WBO, disputará su segundo combate del año ante el campeón nacional coreano Ha Nok Sim, que en su trayectoria profesional sólo ha perdido claramente contra el púgil de gran carrera amateur Enkhamar Kharkhuu.
-En el Palacio de Deportes y Congresos de Playa de Aro, España, el invicto peso pluma Cristobal Lorente, 8º WBC y 13º WBO, expondrá su cinturón de Europa ante el también invicto, pero mucho menos experimentado, Rubén Gil.
-En Shreveport, Estados Unidos, el joven peso ligero Shamar Canal disputará su primer combate a diez asaltos enfrentándose al nicaragüense Bryan Jiménez.
-En el Centro Pavesi de Milan, Italia, el peso semipesado Mohamed Elmaghraby afrontará una revancha contra Stiven Leonetti Dredhaj, al que en marzo derrotó con una controvertida decisión mayoritaria en un combate en el que ni siquiera dio el peso, estando 1,8 kg encima del límite.

On a Friday unusually lacking in fights, one of the few bouts worth mentioning is the headliner of an event at the Club Social y Cultural «El Cruce» in Malvinas Argentinas, Argentina, broadcast on FOX Sports. In it, a fighter with chin issues, who has largely sustained his progress against opponents with a losing record, like Lucas Ramón Argañaraz, will face a boxer with six losses but never stopped, and with more quality experience, like Guido Joel Romero, with the vacant South American super welterweight belt at stake.
On the other hand, in the Piazza Dante in Grosseto, Italy, broadcast on YouTube, former Italian super lightweight champion Stefano Ramundo will look to prepare for an important fight in his career by facing Samy Khellas, who has rarely suffered a wide defeat, has suffered several questionable losses and is riding the best streak of his career.

The biggest event of the week will be a great card organized at the DIVS «Uralochka» in Yekaterinburg, Russia, and theoretically broadcast on VK Video. Almost all of the prominent names from the RCC Boxing stable will participate in it, and they will do so in well-matched fights that represent decisive steps forward for their careers.
For example, the skilled and undefeated super middleweight Pavel Silyagin will face the unbeaten Argentinian puncher Pablo Ezequiel Corzo, clash featuring two fighters ranked in the top 15 by both the IBF and WBA that will propel the winner to the top of the lists and into direct contention for a world title shot. The WBA super lightweight eliminator between another Russian and another Argentinian will also carry similar implications, as highly regarded prospect Khariton Agrba is set to face Rubén Néstor Neri Muñoz.
Along with these, there will be two other clashes between world ranked fighters: one at super bantamweight between Uzbekistan’s Mukhammad Shekhov and Argentina’s Rodrigo Fabián Ruiz, and another at super welterweight between former Russian world title challenger Magomed Kurbanov and his compatriot Pavel Sosulin, an undefeated prospect and former member of the Russian national team.
As if that weren’t enough, the card will also feature other interesting matchups: undefeated Russian middleweight Vadim Tukov, ranked 11th in the IBF and 12th in the WBA, will take on seasoned Uzbek Kudratillo Abdukakhorov; heavyweights Evgeny Romanov and Georgiy Yunovidov will meet in the bridgerweight division; and world silver medalist Dzhambulat Bizhamov will make his third pro appearance against the tough and capable Uzbek Ulugbek Sobirov.
After discussing this huge evening, broadcast for free, the comparison with the DAZN card at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK, promoted by Matchroom Boxing, reflects very poorly on the latter company, which has significantly lowered the average quality of its shows in recent times. In the main event, the only truly interesting bout of the card, super lightweight Jack Catterall, coming off a decisive loss to Barboza, will look to rebound somewhat by facing Harlem Eubank, who is facing the first truly significant challenge in a career in which he has been protected by his promoter’s matchmaking.
Otherwise, the card will feature the return of former champion Joe Cordina (14 months after being beaten by Cacace) in a lightweight bout where he is a heavy favorite to beat a boxer without quality experience as Mexican Jaret González, and a super featherweight clash between Aqib Fiaz and Michael Gomez Jr.’s late replacement, fellow Briton Alex Murphy.
On a weekend where, beyond the Russian card, the overall level is rather low and the number of fights limited, only these other bouts can be mentioned:
-At the Clichy Hall in Clichy, France, super featherweight Samir Ziani, who has only lost once since 2014, will seek to break into the WBC top 15, and end a 15-month layoff, fighting for a minor title against Khalil El Hadri.
-At the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, featherweight prospect Kenji Fujita, ranked fourth in the WBO, will have his second fight of the year against Korean national champion Ha Nok Sim, who in his professional career has only lost clearly to the accomplished amateur fighter Enkhamar Kharkhuu.
-At the Palacio de Deportes y Congresos in Playa de Aro, Spain, undefeated featherweight Cristobal Lorente, ranked 8th in the WBC and 13th in the WBO, will defend his European belt against the also undefeated, but much less experienced, Rubén Gil.
