Para intentar que Devin Haney, que está encadenando las excusas una tras otra incluso antes del combate, no protestase otra vez y tuviese una ventaja añadida más, el pesaje de su pugna contra Vasyl Lomachenko se produjo mucho antes de lo que es habitual en las veladas estadounidenses. En otras palabras, Haney, que es muy grande para el peso ligero, tuvo un puñado de horas extra para rehidratar y contar con todavía más ventaja en peso sobre el ring ante Lomachenko.
De todos modos, el asunto no terminó ahí, sino que el pesaje se hizo a puerta cerrada (sin público ni prensa) y, según se informa, Haney no dio el peso a la primera pero sí a la segunda, aunque no hay forma de comprobar si efectivamente terminó dando el peso, ya que fue a puerta cerrada… Lo peor de todo es que para disimular, Top Rank hizo que ambos boxeadores fingiesen que se pesaban horas más tarde en el pesaje público.
En cualquier caso, en cuanto a los pesos finales oficiales para esta pugna por el título indiscutido del peso ligero [61,2 kg o 135 lb], Haney marcó 61,18 kg (134,9 lb) y Lomachenko pesó 61,23 kg (135 lb), por lo que todo quedó listo (aunque en circunstancias sospechosas) para que se enfrenten. En el cara a cara posterior al pesaje, Haney empujó a Lomachenko y luego se largó corriendo del escenario, lo que pareció otra muestra más de la inseguridad que padece el púgil estadounidense.
La cartelera principal también incluirá la pelea sobre el peso superpluma [59,0 kg o 130 lb] en la que Óscar Valdez disputará una revancha contra Adam López y el choque del peso ligero [61,2 kg o 135 lb] en el que Raymond Muratalla pugnará contra Jeremia Nakathila. Para el primero de los combates, Valdez y López pesaron ambos 59,9 kg (132,1 lb), mientras que para el encuentro entre Muratalla y Nakathila, los boxeadores pararon la báscula en 60,7 kg (133,9 lb) y 60,6 kg (133,6 lb).
Fuera de la cartelera en PPV quedará el mundial WBO por el vacante cinturón del peso supermosca [52,2 kg o 115 lb] entre Junto Nakatani y Andrew Moloney, que también cumplieron a la perfección su cometido con la romana marcando respectivamente 52,0 kg (114,6 lb) y 51,9 kg (114,5 lb).
El tramo principal del Haney-Lomachenko será emitido en España por Fight Sports desde las 4:00 de la madrugada del sábado al domingo, mientras que en Estados Unidos se ofrecerá a través de un PPV de ESPN+ que se iniciará a las 22:00 ET/19:00 PT. La parte previa al PPV será televisada en Estados Unidos por ESPN, ESPN+ y ESPN Deportes desde las 20:00 ET/17:00 PT, las 2:00 en España.

To try to keep Devin Haney (who is stringing the excuses one after another even before the fight) from protesting once again and help him have more advantage, the weigh-in for his fight against Vasyl Lomachenko took place much earlier than usual in American evenings. In the face-to-face after the weigh-in, Haney pushed Lomachenko and then ran off the stage, which seemed another sign of the American fighter’s insecurity.
The main card will also include a fight above super featherweight [59.0 kg or 130 lbs] in which Óscar Valdez will have a rematch against Adam López and the lightweight [61.2 kg or 135 lbs] clash in which Raymond Muratalla will face Jeremia Nakathila. For the first of the bouts, Valdez and López both weighed 59.9 kg (132.1 lb), while for the match between Muratalla and Nakathila, the boxers tipped the scale at 60.7 kg (133.9 lb) and at 60.6 kg (133.6 lb).
Before the PPV segment of the event, Junto Nakatani and Andrew Moloney will battle for the vacant WBO super flyweight [52.2 kg o 115 lb], the boxers perfectly fulfilling their mission with the scale coming in at 52.0 kg (114.6 lb) and at 51.9 kg (114.5 lb). respectively.
The main card of the evening will be broadcast in the United States through an ESPN+ PPV that will begin at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT. The previous segment will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes from 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 PT p.m. In the United Kingdom, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Action will air the full card from 12:00 a.m.
