Perhaps someone thinks that it was just due to a mistake that the main event of last night’s Golden Boy Promotions evening was so mismatched. But on the contrary, the leaders of the company, which wanted to send the message that they have in their squad a very promising fighter, knew exactly what they was doing by putting in front of the lightweight prospect Floyd Schofield 12(10KO)-0 the veteran boxer, with disadvantage in weight, inactive and with chin issues Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas 22(14KO)-6(5)-1, who lasted less than two minutes.

With a few seconds elapsed, Schofield took Rosas to the ropes and unleashed long, fast combinations of hooks up and down, against which his rival did what he could to try to block or dodge. There was a brief pause in these attacks when Rosas was pushed once to the canvas, but later the American’s offense continued until, with a left hook, he spectacularly dropped “Bad Boy” to the mat and put an end to the match.

Now, Schofield aims to have a ten-round fight before the end of the year, planning for the 2023 season to climb the rankings and face bouts against outstanding prospects and prominent contenders, mentioning Isaac Cruz among them. However, in order to be prepared for clashes against opponents of such caliber, Schofield still lacks much development and experience, having to start first by showing what he is capable of against varied styles and against motivated boxers, with aspirations and at least of medium-high level, something that he has not done yet.
