Despite the fact that the clash between the promising flyweight Gabriela Fundora 8(4KO)-0 and Lucia Hernández 7(0KO)-13(2) lasted eight rounds, being the longest fight of the Golden Boy event, really the control of the actions of the undefeated was even wider than that of other participants in the card, achieving a unanimous decision with triple scores of 80-72.

Throughout the match Fundora pressed firmly and landed jabs, isolated right hands, straights shots linked with lead hooks, one-twos, hooks up and down in combination, right uppercuts, etc. As for Hernandez, her resilience can be highlighted, as she withstood her opponent’s punches and avoided the TKO, but otherwise Fundora’s height, skill and speed created an insurmountable wall.

As for the super welterweight Eric Tudor 5(4KO)-0, he had to deal with a scare, but he recovered very soon to beat Mexican Edgar Valenzuela 7(6KO)-1(1) in the second round.

In the first round Tudor’s pressure was met with an unexpected counterpunch in right hook to the face that seriously shook him, though the undefeated got back to work in no time. Thus, in the second round it was Tudor who connected a right hook that put on his knees Valenzuela, who shortly after the restart touched the canvas for the last time after two hooks down that he seemed to block.

The first fight of the bill was at super flyweight between Jasmine Artiga 9(5KO)-0-1 and Amy Salinas 4(0KO)-2, duel won by the first through a fair split decision that was controversial. The judges’ cards gave a ridiculous 60-54 for Artiga, a correct 58-56 for this same fighter and a quite generous 56-58 for Salinas.

The clash had two clearly differentiated parts. In the first half, Artiga landed clean straight punches chained with hooks that were by far the most significant hands, although in the second half Salinas used her grit to close distance and throw many combinations of hooks. Thus, in general terms the fight was even, although in the last round Artiga seemed to impose again her clean punching to deserve the victory by narrow margin.
