El pegador Milan Prat venció en el primer round al resistente Joel Julio. Disputará campeonato UE superwélter ante Isaac Real

En la noche del jueves el prospecto francés del peso superwélter Milan Prat 14(11KO)-0, de sólo 22 años, afrontaba un test a su pegada ante el veterano colombiano Joel Julio 39(33KO)-11(4), un púgil que, pese a estar en la recta final de su carrera, ha aguantado todos los episodios ante boxeadores como el ranqueado Haro Matevosyan o el invicto ucraniano Eduard Skavynskiy y que llegaba de anotarse un knockdown ante el hábil ruso Vadim Tukov. Sin embargo, lejos de tener que aplicarse a fondo, Prat resolvió su duelo ante Julio en poco más de un minuto, asestándole a su oponente la derrota más rápida de su carrera.
El enfrentamiento no tuvo mucho que contar, dado que, después de los primeros tanteos, Prat conectó un gancho de izquierda al hígado que hizo a Julio doblarse de dolor y tocar la lona, no logrando el visitante responder a la cuenta completa del árbitro.
Quizás algunos puedan pensar que el puño fue en cierto modo casual y que le evitó la que podría haber sido una pelea trabajada, pero lo cierto es que la capacidad de definición de Prat y su peligro son hechos evidentes, habiendo logrado sus 9 últimos triunfos antes del límite. Entre ellos destacó el obtenido ante el duro y correoso Fouad El Massoudi, que aguantó todos los rounds ante el exretador mundial Maciej Sulecki, el titular europeo Sergio García, el campeón UE Jama Saidi o el olímpico Patrick Wojcicki, pero al que Prat batió en sólo tres episodios.
Por lo tanto, aunque todavía está en su fase de desarrollo y adquisición de experiencia, este campeón nacional de Francia parece estar en muy buen estado de forma y tener mucho potencial para, como mínimo, ofrecer interesantes pugnas en la escena continental del peso superwélter. El siguiente objetivo de Prat es, en principio, la disputa del campeonato de la Unión Europea del peso superwélter, cinturón vacante para el que es coaspirante oficial junto a un exposeedor de dicho título, el español Isaac Real.

On Thursday night, French super welterweight prospect Milan Prat 14(11KO)-0, only 22 years old, faced a test to his punch against Colombian veteran Joel Julio 39(33KO)-11(4), a fighter who, despite being in the final stretch of his career, has lasted all the rounds against boxers such as the ranked Haro Matevosyan or the undefeated Ukrainian Eduard Skavynskiy, and who scored a knockdown against the skillful Russian Vadim Tukov. However, far from having to work hard, Prat resolved his duel against Julio in just over a minute, dealing his opponent the fastest defeat of his career.
There isn’t much to tell about the bout as, after the first actions, Prat connected a left hook to the liver that made Julio bend over in pain and touch the canvas. The visitor was not able to respond to the referee’s full count, and the fight ended.
Perhaps some may think that the punch was somehow casual and that it prevented the local from having a hard fought match, but the truth is that Prat’s finishing ability and his danger are evident, having achieved his last 9 wins by stoppage. Among them stands out the one obtained against the tough veteran Fouad El Massoudi, who reach the final bell against former world challenger Maciej Sulecki, European titleholder Sergio García, EU champion Jama Saidi or the Olympian Patrick Wojcicki, but whom Prat beat in only three rounds.
So, although he is still in his development and experience-gathering phase, this French national champion appears to be in very good shape and has a lot of potential to, at least, offer some interesting fights on the continental super welterweight scene. Prat’s next objective is, in principle, the European Union super welterweight championship, vacant belt for which he is official co-challenger along with a former owner of the title, the Spanish Isaac Real.
