“Koreano” Torres derrotó por KOT a “Rudy” Flores. Quinton Randall vs. Ivan Álvarez terminó por corte en el segundo round

El joven prospecto Luis “Koreano” Torres 15(10KO)-0 obtuvo anoche una nueva victoria antes del límite derrotando en el cuarto episodio a su compatriota Rodolfo “Rudy” Flores 14(6KO)-6(4), boxeador al que derribó dos veces antes de que el árbitro decretase el final de este combate parte de la velada de UFC Fight Pass.
El invicto comenzó bastante agresivo, ya que, aunque tuvo momentos de pausa, cuando atacó sacó fuertes combinaciones de ganchos que empujaron hacia las cuerdas a Flores en el primer asalto. Como respuesta a esto, “Rudy” trató de anticiparse, tomar la iniciativa y atacar más en el segundo round, pero la presión no abrumó ni mucho menos al zurdo Torres, que estando de espaldas a las cuerdas sacó un gancho diestro que tiró al tapiz a su oponente. Aun así, Flores se mostró muy valiente tras la reanudación y volvió a intentar presionar, produciéndose entretenidos intercambios.
Ya en el tercer asalto se siguieron produciendo cruces de golpes con reducidos espacios, llegando ambos con buenas manos pero siendo el gancho diestro al rostro y el hook de izquierda al cuerpo de Torres los puños que generaban más daños. De hecho, Flores comenzó a dar muestras de estar dañado antes de que nuevos ganchos le derribasen, algo que no compensó el descuento de un punto a Torres poco después por arrojar a la lona ilegalmente a su oponente con un movimiento de “lucha libre” al sacudirse un clinch. En cualquier caso, aunque esto consumió parte del tiempo y Flores consiguió alcanzar el cuarto asalto, en éste una nueva ofensiva de “Koreano” encerró a su contrincante y llevó al árbitro a parar el combate.
Ciertamente la victoria antes del límite de Torres era el resultado previsible para este combate, pero igualmente el púgil cumplió el pronóstico con rapidez y eficiencia, destacando esta vez su contundente respuesta sin iniciativa. Por ello, a sus 20 años y con sólo 15 combates, Torres parece estar desarrollándose de forma muy adecuada y habrá que estar atentos para ver cómo se maneja en los tests de calado que le llegaran dentro de no mucho tiempo si mantiene su ritmo de victorias.
Decepcionante final para Randall vs. Álvarez
En esta misma cartelera se produjo un rápido y decepcionante final para el enfrentamiento del peso wélter entre el estadounidense Quinton Randall 8(2KO)-0-1 y el mexicano Iván “Elegante” Álvarez 31(21KO)-13(5)-2, puesto que el duelo terminó sin ganador tras un corte por cabezazo en el segundo round.
El choque había arrancado igualado, con Randall moviéndose y jabeando ante un Álvarez que trataba de acortar los espacios. En ocasiones los jabs y los clinches en corta de Randall frenaron la progresión de su rival, pero en otras Álvarez lograba llevar a las cuerdas a su adversario y lanzar ganchos contra su defensa en philly shell. Con todo, en el segundo asalto se produjo un choque de cabezas y un corte en Álvarez que, tras la revisión del médico, llevó a la conclusión del enfrentamiento.

The young prospect Luis «Koreano» Torres 15(10KO)-0 obtained a new stoppage victory last night defeating in the fourth round his compatriot Rodolfo «Rudy» Flores 14(6KO)-6(4), boxer whom he knocked down twice before the referee ended this fight part of the evening of UFC Fight Pass.
The undefeated started out quite aggressive as, although he had some moments of pause, when he attacked he unleashed strong hook combinations that pushed Flores to the ropes in the first round. In response to this, «Rudy» tried to anticipate, take the initiative and attack more in the second round, but his pressure did not overwhelm the southpaw Torres who, with his back to the ropes, landed a right hook to the head that put his opponent on the canvas. Even so, Flores was very brave after the restart and tried to press again, producing entertaining exchanges.
In the third round the fighters were still battling at close range, both connecting some good hands, but the right hook to the face and the left hook to the body of Torres were the fists that generated the most damage. In fact, Flores began to show signs of being hurt before new hooks floored him. Short after this, Torres suffered the deduction of one point for illegally throwing his rival to the canvas with a «wrestling» move in a clinch. In any case, although this consumed part of the time and Flores managed to reach the fourth round, in this one a new offensive by “Koreano” cornered up his opponent and led the referee to stop the fight.
Certainly the stoppage victory of Torres was the foreseeable result for this fight, but even so the boxer met the forecast with speed and efficiency, standing out in his performance this time his forceful response without initiative. So, Torres, 20 years old and with only 15 fights, seems to be developing in a very adequate way and we will have to be attentive to see how he performs in the important tests that he will reach soon if he maintains this rhythm of victories.
Disappointing ending for Randall vs. Alvarez
On this same card there was a quick and disappointing end to the welterweight matchup between American Quinton Randall 8(2KO)-0-1 and Mexican Iván “Elegante” Álvarez 31(21KO)-13(5)-2, since the duel ended without a winner after a cut in the second round.
The clash started evenly, with Randall moving and jabbing against Álvarez, who was trying to put pressure. At times Randall’s jabs and clinches in close range slowed his opponent’s progression, but at other times Alvarez was able to get his opponent to the ropes and throw hooks against his philly shell. However, in the second round there was a clash of heads that produced a cut in Alvarez. After being checked by the doctor, this cut led to the conclusion of the bout.
