Jesús “Mono” Ramos venció por KOT batalla contra duro Vladimir Hernández

El prospecto Jesús “Mono” Ramos 18(15KO)-0 continuó hacia delante en su andadura en el peso superwélter en el respaldo del Thurman-Barrios, ya que logró romper a su favor una guerra contra el mexicano Vladimir “24K” Hernández 13(6KO)-5(2) para conseguir un KOT en el sexto asalto.
Si Hernández está siempre motivado para presionar con intensidad más lo estuvo esta vez viniendo de derrotar a Julian Williams. Así, avanzó sobre Ramos y trató de conectar golpes de poder en gran número, impactando bastantes más manos nítidas de las que el prospecto suele recibir. De todos modos, aunque era una batalla dura y estaba pagando el precio, en líneas generales “Mono” marcó la diferencia a su favor gracias a su precisión a la contra, a su astuta selección de golpes en los intercambios y a su superior defensa.
Hacia la mitad Hernández insistió más si cabe aún en su presión y pareció agobiar un tanto al invicto con sus constantes andanadas, pero en el sexto asalto Ramos impactó un brutal cruzado zurdo que dejó muy tocado a su oponente, quien fue hostigado en las cuerdas hasta que el árbitro detuvo el enfrentamiento.
Ramos sigue pareciendo un prospecto muy interesante pero, pese a ello y aunque logró encontrar la mano definitoria, es evidente que no posee el mismo peligro militando en el peso superwélter que en el peso wélter o el superligero. Quizás no pueda dar el peso para esta última división y quizás el peso wélter ofrezca retos demasiado complicados, pero si sigue militando en el peso superwélter, cuando le llegue un combate ante un boxeador de la parte alta, algo que podría suceder pronto, también estará asumiendo un riesgo ante los púgiles de esta categoría, que son más grandes y potentes.

The prospect Jesús “Mono” Ramos 18(15KO)-0 continued his journey in the super welterweight division in the support of the Thurman-Barrios’s card, since he broke in his favor a war against Mexican Vladimir “24K” Hernández 13(6KO)-5(2) to achieve a TKO victory in the sixth round.
If Hernández is always motivated to press hard, he was even more this time coming from a victory against Julian Williams. So, he marched forward and tried to land power shots in great number. He had some success, as he landed more clean punches than the prospect usually receives. Still, even though it was a tough battle and both were paying the price, overall “Mono” made the difference in his favor by his precision countering, his skilled punches selection in the exchanges, and his superior defense.
Towards the middle of the fight, scheduled to 10 rounds, Hernández insisted even more in his pressure and seemed to make uncomfortable the undefeated with his constant hooks, but in the sixth round Ramos connected a brutal left hooks that damaged his opponent, who was attacked on the ropes until the referee stopped the match.
Ramos still seems like a very interesting prospect but, despite this and although he managed to find the defining punch, it is evident that he does not possess the same danger at super welterweight as he had at welterweight or super lightweight. He may not be able to make weight in the latter division and perhaps welterweight offers too many challenges, but if he continues to fight at super welterweight, he will also be taking considerable risk against the fighters in this category, who are bigger and more powerful, especially when the time comes to fight a top level boxer, which could happen soon.
