Confirmadas velada del mundial crucero Makabu-Mchunu y una nueva cartelera de MTK

Teniendo en cuenta los despropósitos organizativos que han terminado siendo en los últimos tiempos varios intentos de veladas de Don King, había que tener cautela sobre su próxima presunta cartelera. No obstante, la promotora ha emitido un comunicado oficial en el que ha confirmado ya qué combates compondrán íntegramente su evento del día 29 de enero en el Packard Music Hall de Ohio, Estados Unidos, y esta vez parece ya definitivamente que los duelos saldrán adelante.
En el choque estelar el campeón mundial WBC del peso crucero Ilunga Makabu, al que el equipo de Canelo apuntó durante la convención del WBC, y su retador obligatorio Thabiso Mchunu se enfrentarán en un muy interesante duelo de revancha. Además, entre otros duelos, el peso pesado Trevor Bryan, que se dice que podría medirse en unos meses a Daniel Dubois, realizará un rodaje contra el invicto pero sin poner a prueba Jonathan Guidry.
Por otro lado, la compañía MTK Global ha anunciado un evento para el día 18 de febrero en el Estadio de la Universidad de Bolton, Reino Unido. En el encuentro principal combatirá el exretador al título europeo del peso wélter Liam Taylor, cuya derrota más reciente llegó ante David Avanesyan, mientras que en el respaldo combatirán en torno a una decena de prospectos, como los invictos Jack Rafferty o Joe McGrail.
De momento, los adversarios de estos púgiles no han sido confirmados, pero próximamente la compañía dará informaciones al respecto. En la nota oficial, el promotor de esta cartelera, Johnney Roye, señaló:
“Es fantástico volver al Estadio de la Universidad de Bolton con una gran cartelera el próximo mes. Algunos de estos boxeadores no han podido competir mucho durante la pandemia, así que estamos entusiasmados de que ellos ahora vuelvan a un gran escenario”.
