El mayor evento del viernes y de la semana será un edición más del KO a las Drogas de la WBA, que en esta ocasión tendrá como localización el Martyrs of Benina Stadium de Bengasi, Libia, y que será emitido por DAZN y TyC Sports. En dicha cartelera se producirán varios enfrentamientos destacables, siendo el estelar un duelo del peso pluma entre dos jóvenes e invictos boxeadores como el olímpico argentino Mirco Cuello y el mexicano Sergio Ríos, quienes pelearán por un título de subcampeón WBA.
Por otro lado, el choque de semifondo pondrá sobre el ring al pegador venezolano Albert Ramírez, que será favorito para imponerse al británico Jerome Pampellone en una eliminatoria WBA del peso semipesado.
La velada también verá combatir al dos veces plata olímpico y tres veces oro mundial Sofiane Oumiha, que buscará ingresar en el ranking WBA del peso ligero capturando un título menor ante el costarricense Francisco Fonseca, a quien muchos recordaran sólo por las derrotas que padeció ante Ryan García (en el primer asalto, en 2020) y contra Gervonta Davis (en ocho asaltos, en 2017). Además, el respaldo contará con la pugna de adquisición de experiencia que el joven peso superpluma argentino Josué Francisco Agüero disputará contra el mexicano Diego Ortiz y con la continuación del retorno del veterano peso crucero cubano Mike Pérez midiéndose al argentino Christian Fabián Luis.
Al margen, de lo mencionado, el viernes tendrá estos otros combates:
-En Aguascalientes, México, emitido por ESPN Knockout, los jóvenes mexicanos Ricardo Salas y Jesús Mauricio Estrada se enfrentarán en un potencialmente entretenido choque del peso wélter.
-En el Club Atlético Sportivo Federal de Rosario, Argentina, televisado por Direct Tv, el peso wélter Joel Marcos Mafauad buscará mantenerse en la parte baja del ranking WBO defendiendo un título menor de dicho organismo contra su compatriota José Hugo Acevedo.
Sábado 9 de agosto
Sin un combate de gran calibre ni una velada con nombres de relieve, este será uno de los sábados más flojos del año. Quizás, el enfrentamiento más interesante será el que se producirá en The Melbourne Pavilion de Flemington, Australia, en el que el 13º IBF del peso superligero John Mannu se medirá al invicto ruso Alexander Devyatov. Al margen de la posibilidad de lograr un buen posicionamiento, este parece un buen test para que ambos demuestren qué nivel actual tienen, en el caso de Mannu estando en su mejor racha desde su única derrota (en Estados Unidos ante Scoby) y en el de Devyatov afrontando su mayor test hasta la fecha tras 15 meses de inactividad.
Por otro lado, en Ekaterimburgo, Rusia, se producirá una velada menor de RCC Boxing televisada por Match Boets. Sin embargo, aunque no participará ninguno de los boxeadores de mayor calibre de la compañía, sí lo harán prometedores púgiles en combates muy bien emparejados.
Como muestra de ello se puede señalar que el evento estará encabezado por una pelea de rodaje y desarrollo para el prospecto ruso del peso semipesado Denis Savitsky ante al iraní Meysam Gheshlaghi, púgil que llega de ofrecer dos muy difíciles peleas a dos invictos rusos. Además, en el mismo cartel, entre otros combates, el imbatido peso pesado Vartan Arutyunyan se enfrentará también a un púgil muy correoso como Vitaly Kudukhov y el prospecto uzbeko, oro asiático como amateur, Khavasbek Asadullaev afrontará una temprana prueba de fuego ante el ruso Vadim Lubsanov, que tiene muchísima más experiencia profesional que él y que ha logrado varios triunfos contra pronóstico.
El sábado también tendrán lugar estos otros enfrentamientos:
-En el Central Niagara de Niagara Falls, Canadá, el invicto peso superligero Joshuah Lupia afrontará su primer combate a diez asaltos ante el irlandés Ray Moylette.
-En el Club de Leones, Ameca, México, se producirá un encuentro entre dos jóvenes peso ligero como Eduardo Wence y Fernando Flores.

Friday, August 8
The biggest event of Friday—and of the week—will be another edition of the WBA’s KO to Drugs, which this time will take place at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, and will be broadcast by DAZN and TyC Sports. The card will feature several notable matchups, with the main event showcasing a featherweight clash between two young, undefeated fighters: Argentine Olympian Mirco Cuello and Mexican contender Sergio Ríos, who will battle for the WBA interim title.
As for the co-main event, it will see hard-hitting Venezuelan Albert Ramírez step into the ring as the favorite to overcome British boxer Jerome Pampellone in a WBA light heavyweight eliminator.
The event will also feature two-time Olympic silver medalist and three-time world gold medalist Sofiane Oumiha, who will seek to enter the WBA lightweight rankings by capturing a minor title against Costa Rican Francisco Fonseca, whom many will remember only for the defeats he suffered against Ryan García (in the first round, in 2020) and Gervonta Davis (in eight rounds, in 2017). Additionally, the undercard will include a developmental bout for young Argentine super featherweight Josué Francisco Agüero against Mexican Diego Ortiz, as well as the continuation of the comeback of veteran Cuban cruiserweight Mike Pérez, who will face Argentine Christian Fabián Luis.
Aside from the aforementioned, Friday will also include these other fights:

Saturday, August 9
With no high-profile bouts or cards featuring big names, this will be one of the weakest Saturdays of the year. Perhaps the most interesting matchup will take place at The Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington, Australia, where IBF #13 super lightweight John Mannu will face undefeated Russian Alexander Devyatov. Beyond the opportunity to secure a good ranking position, this seems like a solid test for both to show their current level—Mannu being on his best streak since his only loss (in the United States against Scoby), and Devyatov facing his toughest challenge to date after 15 months of inactivity.
Meanwhile, in Yekaterinburg, Russia, there will be a minor RCC Boxing card televised by Match Boets. However, although none of the company’s best boxers will participate, promising fighters will be featured in very well-matched bouts.
For instance, the event will be headlined by a development fight for Russian light heavyweight prospect Denis Savitsky against Iranian Meysam Gheshlaghi, a fighter who recently gave two undefeated Russians very tough nights. Also on the same card, among other bouts, undefeated heavyweight Vartan Arutyunyan will face a very rugged opponent in Vitaly Kudukhov, and Uzbek prospect Khavasbek Asadullaev, an Asian gold medalist as an amateur, will face an early trial by fire against Russian Vadim Lubsanov, who has far more professional experience and has pulled off several upset victories.
Saturday will also feature these other matchups:
