En el Convention Centre de Cairns, Australia, emitido por FOX Australia, el excampeón mundial del peso superligero Liam Paro, actualmente 4º IBF y WBO, retornará al cuadrilátero, tras perder su cinturón en diciembre, enfrentándose al estadounidense Jonathan Navarro, que llega de sufrir su primera derrota de forma inesperada ante Jair Valtierra. En el respaldo, el exretador mundial del peso superpluma Liam Wilson, 4º WBO, intentará acceder al top 3 de dicho organismo peleando por un título menor ante el argentino Ayrton Osmar Giménez, que es 14º en el mismo ranking.
Jueves 26 de junio
En el Korakuen Hall de Tokyo, Japón, la monarca WBA del peso mínimo Yuko Kuroki expondrá su corona contra su compatriota Nanako Suzuki, quien no tiene ni su experiencia ni su boxeo pero que podría resultar un reto más exigente de lo esperado por mera juventud, voluntad y tesón en su primer campeonato mundial.
Por otro lado, en el Sinan Erdem Spor Salonu de Estambul, Turquía, el peso medio Serhat Güler, que era considerado uno de los prospectos turcos más interesantes antes de su duro e inesperado tropiezo ante Martín Bulacio, continuará su proceso de recuperación enfrentándose al colombiano Juan Diego Ortiz, que padeció su única derrota por decisión dividida, como visitante y ante un prospecto como el cubano Ernesbadi Begue.
Viernes 27 de junio
La mayor velada del viernes, y una de las dos mayores de la semana, tendrá lugar en el Centre Videotron de Ciudad de Quebec, Canadá, emitida por ESPN+. Este macroevento, con seis combates a diez rounds y uno a doce, tendrá como pugna estelar la eliminatoria WBC del peso supermedio entre el franco-camerunés Christian Mbilli y el veterano polaco Maciej Sulecki. Aunque Sulecki viene de una buena victoria ante Akhmedov, esto parece más un espejismo que un reflejo de su nivel real actual, así que un Mbilli que es ahora mismo uno de los tres mejores contendientes de la división seguramente le derrote muy solventemente.
El respaldo de este evento contará, entre otros, con el peso pesado ruso Arslanbek Makhmudov, que buscará regresar a la senda del triunfo ante el invicto jamaicano Ricardo Brown; con el entretenido (pero lleno de brechas) peso medio canadiense Steven Butler, que se medirá en una revancha a José de Jesús Macías; con el prospecto del peso wélter Christopher Guerrero, que dará un paso adelante en aumento de dificultad ante el competente Sandy Messaoud; y con la peso superpluma Leila Beaudoin, que afrontará una prueba de fuego contra la aguerrida exretadora mundial Elhem Mekhaled.
El viernes también se puede mencionar que, en el Charles Koch Arena de Wichita, Estados Unidos, emitido por ppv.com, el acabado excampeón del peso pesado Deontay Wilder regresará, un año después de la paliza que recibió ante Zhilei Zhang, midiéndose a un rival como su compatriota Tyrrell Anthony Herndon, que fue batido en un round por Efe Ajagba y en dos por Richard Torrez Jr.
Sábado 28 de junio
En el Honda Center de Anaheim, Estados Unidos, retransmitido por DAZN, tendrá lugar el otro gran evento de la semana, y no por lo que hagan los patéticos personajes (Paul y Chávez Jr.) que “combatirán” en el encuentro “estelar”, sino por el respaldo, que está infinitamente por encima del nivel del encuentro “principal”.
En el choque coestelar, el campeón unificado WBA-WBO del peso crucero, el mexicano Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez, expondrá sus cinturones mundiales. De todos modos, hay que señalar que lo hará ante un Yuniel Dorticós que no combate desde hace un año, que no afronta una pelea de nivel alto desde que perdió en 2020 contra Mairis Briedis, que está muy cerca del retiro y que parece tener realmente complicado poder dar la sorpresa.
También en este cartel, el invicto prospecto estadounidense del peso ligero Floyd Schofield afrontará su mayor combate hasta la fecha midiéndose al experimentado y hábil excampeón Tevin Farmer, que llega de ofrecer exigentes choques a Muratalla y William Zepeda. Por otro lado, el imbatido pegador del peso wélter Avious Griffin se medirá a un Julián Rodríguez que todavía está buscando reflotar con un triunfo significativo desde su derrota ante Pedraza, y el mexicano, también invicto peso wélter, Raúl Curiel se subirá al ring, tras su empate ante Rocha, peleando contra el uruguayo Víctor Ezequiel Rodríguez.
Cambiando de cartelera, en el Place Bell de Laval, Canadá se producirá un duelo eliminatorio del peso crucero entre Jean Pascal y Michal Cieslak que, mirado de manera superficial, podría parecer interesante. Con todo, si lo miramos con algo de atención, el choque es un esperpento: es un duelo entre dos boxeadores que han dado positivo en dopaje, por tres sustancias diferentes en el caso de Pascal, quien dejó atrás su mejor momento hace una década y que desde entonces ha ido cosechando derrotas o triunfos controvertidos en sus combates más relevantes. Además, el ganador de esta “eliminatoria” con título interino en juego ni siquiera será aspirante obligatorio del campeón WBC, sino que, para que el organismo saque aún más dinero, antes tendrá que hacer frente a Yamil Peralta…
Dicho esto, quedan algunos combates por mencionar:
-En el Pearse Stadium de Galway, Irlanda, emitido por DAZN, los locales Joseph Ward, peso semipesado, y Kieran Molloy, peso wélter, afrontarán serios pasos adelante en aumento de dificultad midiéndose a Lerrone Richards y Kaisee Benjamin, respectivamente.
-En el Connexin Live de Hull, Reino Unido, emitido por DAZN, Shakan Pitters y Bradley Rea combatirán por el vacante cinturón de Europa del peso semipesado.
-En el Centro de Tecnificación Deportiva de Villarreal, España, el exaspirante mundial Jairo Noriega retornará al ring, tras su derrota ante Iwata, peleando por el vacante cinturón de Europa del peso mosca ante el invicto Rakyb Mohamed Radji.
-En Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, emitido por YouTube, habrá un duelo de invictos peso semipesado entre Sanderson Díaz y Luis Antonio Tejeda.

Wednesday, June 25
At the Convention Centre in Cairns, Australia, broadcast by FOX Australia, former super lightweight world champion Liam Paro, currently ranked as number 4 in the IBF and the WBO lists, will return to the ring, after losing his belt in December, facing American Jonathan Navarro, who is coming of an upset first defeat to Jair Valtierra. In the undercard, former super featherweight world title challenger Liam Wilson, ranked number 4 in the WBO, will attempt to break into the top three by fighting for a minor title against Argentinian Ayrton Osmar Giménez, who is ranked 14th in the same organization.
Thursday, June 26
At the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, WBA minimumweight champion Yuko Kuroki will defend her title against fellow countrywoman Nanako Suzuki, who doesn’t possess her experience and boxing skills but could prove to be a more demanding challenge than expected due to her youth, will, and tenacity in her first world championship.
At the Sinan Erdem Spor Salonu in Istanbul, Turkey, middleweight Serhat Güler, who was considered one of the most interesting Turkish prospects before his tough and unexpected loss to Martín Bulacio, will continue his recovery process by facing Colombian Juan Diego Ortiz, who suffered his only loss by split decision, on the road and against Cuban prospect Ernesbadi Begue.
Friday, June 27
The biggest event of Friday, and one of the two biggest of the week, will take place at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada, broadcast on ESPN+. This card, featuring six ten-round bouts and one twelve-rounder, will feature the WBC super middleweight eliminator between French-Cameroonian Christian Mbilli and Polish veteran Maciej Sulecki. Although Sulecki is coming off a strong win against Akhmedov, this seems more like a mirage than a reflection of his current level, so Mbilli, who is currently one of the top three contenders in the division, will likely defeat him comfortably.
The supporting matches for this event will include, among others, Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov, who will look to return to winning ways against undefeated Jamaican Ricardo Brown; the entertaining but flawed Canadian middleweight Steven Butler, who will face José de Jesús Macías in a rematch; welterweight prospect Christopher Guerrero, who will take a step up against competent Sandy Messaoud; and with super featherweight Leila Beaudoin, who will face a decisive test against the gritty former world title challenger Elhem Mekhaled.
Also on Friday, at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, United States, broadcast by ppv.com, a year after the beating he suffered against Zhilei Zhang, finished former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will return to the ring facing an opponent like his compatriot Tyrrell Anthony Herndon, who was defeated in one round by Efe Ajagba and in two by Richard Torrez Jr.
Saturday, June 28
At the Honda Center in Anaheim, United States, broadcast by DAZN, the other big event of the week will take place. And it is an interesting card not because of what the pathetic individuals (Paul and Chávez Jr.) do in the «main event», but because of the undercard, which is infinitely above the level of the «main» bout.
In the co-main event, unified WBA-WBO cruiserweight champion, Mexican Gilberto «Zurdo» Ramírez, will put his world titles on the line. However, it should be noted that he will be fighting against Yuniel Dorticós, who hasn’t fought in a year, who hasn’t faced a high-level fight since losing to Mairis Briedis in 2020, who is very close to retirement, and who will have a really tough time pulling off an upset.
Also on this card, undefeated American lightweight prospect Floyd Schofield will face his biggest fight to date against experienced and skilled former champion Tevin Farmer, who is coming off commendable performances against Muratalla and William Zepeda. On the other hand, unbeaten welterweight puncher Avious Griffin will face Julián Rodríguez, who is still looking to rebound with a significant victory after his loss to Pedraza, and Mexican welterweight Raúl Curiel will enter the ring (after his draw against Rocha) to fight Uruguayan Victor Ezequiel Rodríguez.
At the Place Bell in Laval, Canada, there will be a cruiserweight eliminator between Jean Pascal and Michal Cieslak, which, at a glance, might seem and interesting contest. However, if we look at it more closely, the matchup is grotesque: it’s a duel between two boxers who have tested positive in doping, for three different substances in the case of Pascal, who left behind his prime a decade ago and has since been racking up defeats or controversial victories in his most significant bouts. Furthermore, the winner of this «eliminator», with an interim title at stake, won’t even be mandatory challenger to WBC champion: so as the organization could have even more profits, he’ll have to face Yamil Peralta first…
That said, there are still a few other fights to mention:
-At Pearse Stadium in Galway, Ireland, broadcast by DAZN, locals Joseph Ward, light heavyweight, and Kieran Molloy, welterweight, will take on serious steps up in competition by facing Lerrone Richards and Kaisee Benjamin, respectively.
-At Connexin Live in Hull, United Kingdom, broadcast by DAZN, Shakan Pitters and Bradley Rea will fight for the vacant European light heavyweight belt.
-At the Centro de Tecnificación Deportiva in Villarreal, Spain, former world challenger Jairo Noriega will return to the ring, after his loss to Iwata, fighting for the vacant European flyweight belt against undefeated Rakyb Mohamed Radji.
-In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, a duel between undefeated light heavyweights between Sanderson Díaz and Luis Antonio Tejeda will be broadcast on YouTube.
