Aunque muchos podrían pensar que el talento japonés debería estar ya en su límite con seis campeones mundiales, uno de ellos unificado y otro indiscutido (además de para muchos número 1 libra por libra), lo cierto es que Japón está lejos de quedarse sin excelentes contendientes y prospectos. Uno más de ellos es el peso supergallo Subaru Murata 11(11KO)-0, que el martes venció por KOT en el sexto round al excampeón mundial Yukinori Oguni 22(9KO)-4(4)-3 y dio un paso más en su acercamiento a una pelea titular.
Durante los primeros asaltos Oguni tuvo algo de éxito con algunas derechas y ganchos abajo en ofensivas aisladas, si bien estas fueron contestadas por algunos cruzados de mano adelantada del zurdo invicto. Sin embargo, para el tercer round Murata ya había medido la distancia, el ritmo y los tiempos y aprovechó el frontal avance de su contrincante para castigarlo con series de directos y contragolpes en recto zurdo o curvo diestro. El valiente Oguni siguió intentando atacar, pero Murata aprovechó su ventaja en explosividad, destreza y velocidad para desgastar a su contrincante con duras combinaciones tanto en intercambios como en sólidas ofensivas. Finalmente, en el sexto round, sacudió duramente al exmonarca con un gancho diestro y forzó la acertada detención arbitral.

Although many might think that Japanese talent should already be at its limit with six world champions, one of them unified titlist and the other undisputed champion (and, for many, number 1 pound-for-pound), the truth is that Japan is far from running out of excellent contenders and prospects. Another of them is super bantamweight Subaru Murata 11(11KO)-0, who on Tuesday defeated former world champion Yukinori Oguni 22(9KO)-4(4)-3 by sixth-round TKO and took another step closer to a title fight.
During the first rounds, Oguni had some success with some right hands and hooks downstairs, although these were answered by some lead hooks from the undefeated southpaw. By the third round, however, Murata had already gauged the distance and timed his opponet, taking advantage of Oguni’s forward advance to punish him with combinations of straight hands, counterpunches with left hands and right hooks. The brave Oguni continued to attack, but Murata used his explosiveness, skill, and speed to wear down his opponent with hard combinations in both exchanges and solid offensives. Finally, in the sixth round, he rocked the former champion hard with a right hook and forced the stoppage.
