Como se esperaba, la campeona mundial WBO del peso átomo Yuki Kuroki 21(9KO)-7-2 volvió a vencer en la revancha a la extitular Nanae Suzuki 11(1KO)-6(1)-1, siendo las cartulinas de su triunfo unánime 97-93 y doble 96-94. Kuroki ha tenido ya una larga carrera y quién sabe cuánto tiempo le queda en el boxeo activo, quizás debería intentar mejorar su legado encarando una unificación contra la titular IBF Mika Iwakawa, compatriota que tiene en su récord una derrota y un triunfo ajustado sobre la misma Nanae Suzuki.

Una semana más el evento de Wasserman Boxing se abarató con un cambio de rival en el combate estelar. Así, Harlem Eubank no se midió a Christian Uruzquieta sino al sustituto Miguel Antín, quien terminó derrotado pero llegó a dañar en un par de ocasiones al favorito local. En cuanto al resto de pugnas de la velada, el campeonato inglés Nick Parpa vs. Michael Webster no se llevó a cabo, mientras que Harry Scarff 12(3KO)-2 venció a Jordan Dujon 8(0KO)-2 por decisión unánime (79-73, 78-74 7 77-75) para capturar un cinto menor que le llevará a un top 15 WBO superwélter para el que no está preparado. Finalmente, el bronce mundial amateur Abass Baraou 13(9KO)-1 terminó su inactividad con un fácil triunfo por KOT en el tercer round sobre el húngaro Ferenc Katona 11(7KO)-10(7)-3.
Pasando al encuentro del peso superpluma entre Michael Magnesi y Ayrton Osmar Giménez, el primero tuvo muchas dificultades ante la elusividad y la movilidad del visitante, y tuvo que esperar a una bajada de actividad de su rival para empezar a tener éxitos consistentes. Respecto a los campeonatos franceses, en el del peso pesado el favorito David Spilmont 13(9KO)-8(3)-1 se convirtió en el primero en derrotar antes del límite a Mekki Sahli 5(4KO)-2(1) con un KOT en el octavo asalto, mientras que en el del peso superligero el favorito y campeón invicto Hassan Amzile 5(1KO)-1 fue derrotado en la revancha contra Don Yves Mikael Taha 10(2KO)-2-1, que se impuso por decisión unánime (92-98, 93-97, 93-97) dando así un vuelco a su carrera.
Sábado 1 de abril
El excampeón mundial unificado del peso pesado Anthony Joshua derrotó al estadounidense Jermaine Franklin en su retorno, si bien lo hizo con una mala actuación repleta de agarres e inseguridad y que fue sucedida al final por un nuevo brote de locura. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
En cuanto al choque coestelar, el peso pesado Fabio Wardley se hizo con un polémico triunfo por KOT en el cuarto asalto debido a que el árbitro paró antes de tiempo su combate contra Michael Polite Coffie. Pasando al evento de Top Rank, el cinturón de campeón mundial WBO del peso pluma fue conquistado por el doble oro olímpico Robeisy Ramírez, que logró una amplia victoria por decisión unánime sobre el exmonarca mundial Isaac Dogboe. Crónica del combate siguiendo el link.
La mayor sorpresa de la jornada llegó en el combate del 7º WBO del peso superwélter Damián “Samurái” Sosa, que fue derribado y vencido por decisión unánime a manos del fogueado Iván Álvarez, que así logró el mayor triunfo de su carrera. Vídeo oficial del evento siguiendo el link.

El sábado también se produjeron estos otros choques:
-El campeón de Japón del peso superpluma Kosuke Saka 22(19KO)-7(5) volvió a pagar el precio de su falta de encaje y perdió su corona con un KOT en el cuarto asalto ante Yuna Hara 13(7KO)-2-1, si bien está por verse qué regularidad tendrá el nuevo titular en sus próximos retos.
-A duras penas el peso crucero australiano Floyd Masson 13(7KO)-0 logró vencer al italiano Fabio Turchi 21(15KO)-3(1) con una ajustada decisión unánime (115-112, 115-112 y 117-110), lo que muestra que todavía está muy falto de experiencia de calidad y que está lejos del nivel de la élite de los aspirantes.
-El olímpico peso pluma argentino Mirco Cuello 11(10KO)-0 cumplió los pronósticos y retuvo su cinturón sudamericano con un KOT en el sexto round ante el venezolano Flecher Silva 14(12KO)-2(1), quedando claro vez tras vez que necesita ya un notable paso adelante en aumento de dificultad.

As expected, WBO world atomweight champion Yuki Kuroki 21(9KO)-7-2 defeated the former titleholder Nanae Suzuki 11(1KO)-6(1)-1 in the rematch. The cards in this unanimous decision were 97-93, 96-94, 96-94. Kuroki has already had a long career and who knows how much time she has left in boxing, so perhaps she should try to improve her legacy by facing a unification against the IBF titleholder Mika Iwakawa, a compatriot who has on her record one loss and one narrow win over Nanae Suzuki.
Filipino flyweight champion Bienvenido Ligas put in a solid performance against the competent Genesis Libranza and defeated him by clear unanimous decision. Article of the fight and video of the event following the link.

One more week, a Wasserman Boxing evening became cheaper with a change of opponent in the main event. Harlem Eubank did not face Christian Uruzquieta but the substitute Miguel Antín, who ended up being defeated but hurt the local favorite a couple of times. Read more following the link.
As for the rest of the fights of the bill, the English championship Nick Parpa vs. Michael Webster did not take place, while Harry Scarff 12(3KO)-2 beat Jordan Dujon 8(0KO)-2 via unanimous decision (79-73, 78-74, 77-75) to capture a minor belt that will take him to the WBO top 15 at super welterweight, position for which he is not ready. Lastly, world amateur bronze medalist Abass Baraou 13(9KO)-1 finished his inactivity with an easy third-round TKO win over Hungarian Ferenc Katona 11(7KO)-10(7)-3.
Moving on to the super featherweight match between Michael Magnesi and Ayrton Osmar Giménez, the former had many difficulties against the elusiveness and mobility of the visitor, and he had to wait for a drop in activity from his opponent to start having consistent success. Former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua defeated American Jermaine Franklin in his return, albeit with a poor performance filled with clinches and insecurity, followed at the end by a new burst of madness. Read more following the link.
As for the co-feature, heavyweight Fabio Wardley scored a controversial fourth-round TKO victory due to a too early stoppage of his bout against Michael Polite Coffie. The biggest upset of the day came in the bout featuring the WBO number 7 super welterweight Damián “Samurái” Sosa, who was knocked down and defeated by unanimous decision at the hands of seasoned Iván Álvarez, who thus achieved the biggest win of his career. -Japanese super featherweight champion Kosuke Saka 22(19KO)-7(5) once again paid the price for his lack of chin and lost his crown with a fourth-round TKO against Yuna Hara 13(7KO)-2-1, although it remains to be seen which regularity the new belt holder will have in his next challenges.
-Australian cruiserweight Floyd Masson 13(7KO)-0 barely managed to beat the Italian Fabio Turchi 21(15KO)-3(1) with a close unanimous decision (115-112, 115-112 and 117-110), which shows that he is still lacking in quality experience and that he is far from the level of the elite contenders.
-Argentine Olympian Mirco Cuello 11(10KO)-0 did as expected and retained his South American featherweight belt with a sixth-round TKO over Venezuelan Flecher Silva 14(12KO)-2(1). Cuello has made it clear time after time that he needs a notable step up in competition.
